Title: Brain Nuggets to Think About
Post by: CHONGS on September 12, 2020, 02:58:43 PM
Prince after 14 games:
7-7

Klieman after 14 games:
8-6

They'll most likely have the same record after 15.

fred flintstone and one of those cartoon dinosaur birds could draw up better plays than klieman/messingham.

klieman is a solid coach and program builder, and good guy, but his play calling and game management is straight from the stone age. i legit thought he was gonna slip into cardiac arrest after deciding to go on 4th-and-2.

Yea let's blame Snyder for this CK absolutely shitting the bed today. Absolutely no excuse to lose to Arkansas State. Cupboard may not be full, but we have far more talent and are playing at home with a Senior QB with damn near 30 starts under his belt. Failure of leadership all around and it starts with CK.

Lolz blaming Snyder for this disaster.

Snyder wins this game in typical disappointing fashion.

CK looks like he spent most the off-season playing grabass with Sky and Heubs.

Zero players ended up on a NFL roster this year from 2019. That’s how much I know Snyder sucked ass on his way out. This dude needs to time to over recruit his shiftiness, during a god damn pandemic.

You gotta breathe man. I couldn't imagine being this mad about the first football game being played in a season that literally doesn't count. I just want to watch some football and develop the young players in the program. They don't even know if or how a national championship will be awarded and we're two weeks in.

1. Fired Chip Kelly. Chip knows how to win in places like Eugene and Manhattan.

2. Fired Tom Herman. If he's good enough for Texas to hire...

3. Fired Dana Dimel. If you can't get Venables or Bielema, Dimel is your next best option for a "K-State guy".

We have more talent, but it’s probably closer than one might expect. There is a ton of talent in the Deep South and a lot of it filters down to the Sun Belt Conference.

My immense knowledge of all things K-State tells me that both of our coordinators are pushing against the glass ceiling.

I'm definitely leaning toward "getting their guys" really not making a huge difference.

IMO this is particularly the case with Messingham.   He'll have moments, but it will be intertwined with substantial periods of ineptness at critical times during games setting up a lot of frustration and subsequently being a drag on K-State's chances to succeed.

I think it's time for our big money donors to step away from naming all the video boards and suite level stuff, and start putting their names on more coaching endowments to help bolster K-State football's salary pool for coaching.

comparing CK to prince is dumb.  by all accounts, the players love CK and he isn't a sociopath.  also, as noted earlier ITT, CK knows how to build/manage a program.

The only comparison so far is that each performed pretty well early in their stints at K-State.

It was an exciting finish, but with the context being so different it’s hard to call it a big win. We could end up with a team ranked in the top 20 in late November who played like 3 games.

Mississippi State LSU was not an upset. LSUs preseason ranking was an absolute joke. They lost ever-y-body from their two deep from last season, and their defensive coordinator. They returned a miniscule amount of starts, like the smallest amount in the nation. It's a testament to how ridiculously biased college football media and rankings are. Teams like K-State can be light on one unit and the media will act like that will make a 6 game difference, but teams like LSU can literally lose their entire team and no one blinks.
