Mayo Pete was on Squawk this morning and got kk and I thinking about his spot on the Biden staff. I'm thinking he'd be a good Chief of Staff. He's a militarized organization and talking point machine, but he's so unlikeable. He can just organize and run stuff behind the scenes. It's the perfect McKinzie role.
What are some others?

Liz is completely outclassed by the people who run that industry. Shrill populist (socialists) cries don't scare those people. They'll pile truck loads of money into changing her mind, or getting her and her administration out in 2024.

I would love the financial sector having to deal with Liz.
That's a good one. I'd like to see her specifically in charge of cleaning up Trump's messes due to corruption and incompetence.

I've already posted an in-depth article about the people who will likely really be running the mentally incapacitated Joe Biden administration.
You should have just read that. I post that stuff to enlighten extremely superficial people like you.

I am willing to bet against Warren as Treasury secretary

yeah, me too.

i'd bet on someone who has put in some time in the treasury/fed world. dunno if you consider that wall street or not.
I don't know if Bloomberg wants the World Bank gig, but if he wants a gig he will get one assuming he pays for it
bloomberg owns most or all of a privately held business worth like 80 billion or something. it would be a divestment nightmare and i doubt if this would be an opportune time for him to cash out even if he wanted to do so.
i also don't think biden is interested in working with bloomberg.

How could any person of color support Kamala Harris?
Good thing for her she's got the (D) protective shield.
-
She’s pretty scum baggish. It would be a horrible move by Biden to make her VP, for ppl trying to cross party lines on this election. Biden is a robot at best right now and his cabinet matters. The vote for anything but for Trumpers will not like that selection and could hurt him in a layup race right now.

Most of the West Wing Wonks will be comprised of individuals from backgrounds that Libs supposedly hate . . . unless of course they're working for a (D) administration, then it doesn't matter if they've been lobbyists consultants.

Making a play at swing voters is a fool’s errand this election cycle (probably most, but especially this one). If anyone today says they’re not sure if they’re voting Trump and need to see who Biden’s VP is, you can bet all your family’s asses they’ll be voting Trump no matter what.
-
elections are about turnout. an absolute shitload of people will sit at home and say that trump/biden are the devil. but they don't count.
-
Party crossing, is party crossing. I’m about to do it the first time in my life. But backing a dementia candidate is a big deal, knowing that he might not make it and who might back him up as VP. Remember when you guys cared about trumps physical evaluation? Yeah, I don’t want her next in line.

i don't agree. that was the election we were shaping up to have until march or so. there are now large numbers of people considering biden that would not have before because of the trump shitshow over the last 4 months.
you don't get to +10 just by turning out your base. that number means trump voters ready to vote for biden.

wacky, what do you dislike about harris (not a trap, i'm just curious)?
-
One thing I am certain of is Biden is going to hold a lot of listening sessions with big tech and thought leaders and stuff, and just put on a huge smile at the end with twinkles in his eyes and say “America has a lot of problem solvers, like these folks here today and I am excited for the work ahead.” And then crack some joke about them helping him with his iPhone.

I think Harris is a decent moderate pick. But I expect Joe to go balls to the wall moderate everywhere. I don't think I can even comprehend his big brain moderate moves at this point. I just have to wait until they happen and I'll be like, "HOLY crap I didn't even know it was possible to be that moderate!"

She is probably the least socialist person in the VP candidate pool. Who are you hoping for?

Is there a more socialist policy proposal in major politics than a UBI?
welcome to the socialist club 420seriouscat69.

I think Trump changed it so now if the handouts aren’t to poor people or immigrants it’s not socialism.

Anybody who thinks minimum wage should be set at $15 an hour is a dumbass and can't be trusted.
-
Anybody who thinks minimum wage should be set at $15 an hour is a dumbass and can't be trusted.
You are against a $15 minimum wage, but you want the guy who tacks on the equivalent of $5 / hour on an FTE basis as a UBI? Got it
-
The minimum wage should pay more than what people are currently getting for unemployment.
-
How much do you think minimum wage people are getting on unemployment? Also, unemployment has a time stamp on it.
-

The government is currently tacking an extra $600 per week onto unemployment, right? $15 per hour is $600 per week.
-
That's temporary and because of a pandemic.
-
wack that is an insanely minor and boomer issue. It's like the boomers who lost their crap over obamacare then realized that they lose their care for all their bad back/fatness issues.
-
Definitely, it just doesn't sit well with me, that's all. eff, a lot of us were making less than that out of college and now you're trying to incentivize someone for flipping burgers. It just doesn't sit well with me. Seems like a losers approach.

OMG, I can’t even imagine making $15 an hour for tearing your ticket at the movie theater. 17 year old wacky would have been pimping back in the day.

Of yeah physically absolutely. I just sit in a comfy chair and type on a computer all day.

Chum, everybody works harder than you. No offense.

She has a lot of socialism in her. She came off pretty pompous in the debates as well.
thanks. if enough people like you feel similarly, maybe she won't get the nod. i'm sure they're polling the most likely candidates.
-
working very little and making a ton of money is the true sign of success you clods.
-
When you have a system that basically exploits you to pay thousands to get a job with a livable wage, hating on those who don't do that and then complain they shouldn't make a livable wage because it's a "kids" job is a weird take, especially after literally going through this pandemic and seeing just how "essential" those workers ultimately are.
-
Glorifying it is even weirder.

Most of the administration will consist of people who are strategic
lobbyists consultants:
Sergio Aguirre- WestExec Lobbyists Consultants
Nitin Chadda-WestExec Lobbyists Consultants
Michèle Flournoy-WestExec Lobbyists Consultants for SECDEF (Defense contractors will have a great friend in her)
Antony Blinken - Think failed Asian Pivot, ChiCom Joe toasting XI and the flaccid Obama response to ISIL
They'll be another laundry list of policy makers who have spent the last 4 years fully enmeshed in mega banks, huge finance houses and venture capital emerging soon. Ain't gonna be no Liz Warren stuff in that gang.

The shitty jobs I worked for $5.50 per hour make me more supportive of a higher minimum wage, not less. I do support a lower minimum wage for those who are claimed as dependents, though. A $15 minimum wage might make it difficult for high schoolers to find work, otherwise.
-
I did all the shitty jobs too, Rage. It made me hungry to better myself. I don’t believe these well educated politicians really believe in raising it to $15 an hour though. It’s just a cheap trick to pick up low income voters.

Yes, same.
It would lead to all kinds of hour cutting fuckery like obamacare has, but a full-time job should be paying a minimum of $15 per hour.
-
Lol. Good luck. Mr/Mrs business owner will just go understaffed then.

A lot of the Democratic party has socialist ideas. I'm just voting against the evil man. There's definitely going to be some selling out going on through this process.
There was something she said during the debates that really pissed me off and then I forgot about it, because I was like "Well, she's not going to win, so who cares anymore". I'm embarrassed I can't remember what it was she said. I've tried to google it and there's like nothing on her. Minus the fact she called out Biden a bunch. I guess I would be fine with her. I'll live. She's not my first choice by any means.

This succession of posts is a good illustration of one of the ways both major political parties, and the big money/corporatist interests have hoodwinked the American people.
We’re being fleeced in broad daylight and can’t see it. We’ve too busy making enemies out of each other, politically, racially, religiously, to notice.

They'll be a whole of lot of talk and fist pounding on tables, but the mega corps are gonna absolutely flourish, and the little guys are going to have a very tough time under ChiCom Joe if Joe actually follows through with his Bernie Bro doctrine.
It'll be a crushing regulatory and taxation environment.
