Hello, friends! Wacky here. I have my annual Fanning Flint Hills Golf Tournament (Scramble) this weekend and i'm pretty excited for it. However, I've noticed this week I've been hitting my irons like crap and i'm pretty decent with my irons. You know why this is? I figured it out today. My old man back problems are causing me to limp up on my swing with them (irons only). It's all in my lower back. I've been moving my in laws out of 50 acres of storage/houses/sheds/etc of crap the last month and it's taken a toll on my body.
Anyways, anyone with back problems out there? Any good suggestions on a back brace to wear during sports? Any pro-tips would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

Heat, lots of delicious heat

do yoga, I'm 100% serious
start with something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7JfqOfqSmI
then explore other videos she has for beginners, see how you feel, and maybe push yourself to more difficult classes from other folks. it's great.

 Great suggestos. I've never done yoga and I've always wondered what it would be like. I'll do this tomorrow.

I'm a full fledged member of this thread. For years I have had back problems and some days I can barely walk with sciatica pain. I need to do something about it I just haven't.
Anyways this first stretch helps out a lot.

It definitely had a hand in turning Robert Kraft's into a successful businessman.

Also wacky I think you'll like Adriene, not only the yoga part, but she's also pretty cute too. Win win

genuinely a great personality
I've moved on to yoga with kassandra, who is soulless and canadian, but I like her workouts more.

I've spent a lot of time in Canada, it happens.
And yes, Adriene is very very charming. Her and Katie Nolan are high on my list of non hollywood celeb crushes.

IRL friend Wacky--this yoga video is a total gamechanger for lower back issues. I've recommended it to all of my running friends and to anyone with back issues. So far the feedback has been universally positive, from my young out-of-shape friends to my very un-yoga father-in-law.

The best part is that it's 27 minutes long and you don't have to stand up even once. STRONG recommend from your guy WM.

if you do a moderate bit of yoga, Kassandra does these "minimal cue" classes where she just says the pose and nothing else. they're great!

I'll check it out. I need to get back into the yoga game. I've been doing basically calisthenics since rona happened. Yoga is just another form IMO.
I will say, single leg sit to stand squats are the quickest way to have your glutes feel the burn, my god.

I had some lower back issues about a year ago. Did some deadlifting and it fixed me right up. Depends on whats wrong w/ your back obvi, but don't discount it just because it seems like a terrible idea.

Do not recommend at all.

Been laying on this heating pad all morning. Thinking about yoga next, but i'm scared. lol

I put my back out memorial weekend. Was doing heat and yoga which helped but it would seize up occasionally. Got xrays. All muscular, doc said don’t use heat but use cold when it flares and strengthen my core with yoga /stretching etc.

I just did this. I am shockingly inflexible.
