I heard an interesting proposal to differentiate Police services into different agencies or divisions within a department.
Sending in the same people to a burglary in progress and mental health situation might be a fundamental flaw in current practice.

Whatever we can do to make police encounters as transparent and recorded as possible. Right now that means mandatory bodycams and dash cams at a minimum.

Any proposal that doesn't start with immediately defunding and disbanding every police department isn't worth my time.

I'm hopeful a general "defund the police" platform can grow into more. It's as good a place to start as any.

I wonder if RCPD showed up in their riot tank at a march/protest in Manhattan to justify the grant and get it forgiven. (Someone told me they had to use it within 2 years per the terms of wherever the money came from)
