Been great so far, honestly probably the first show I've watched live in forever. So many great quotes so far too
-
Agreed. I am very much enjoying it.
-
Caught up with the espn app this week.
1) it's really jarring to see Jordan playing in college without a 3 point line. I don't think of him being that old.
2) present day Rodman is near unintelligible, really reminds me of mumbling Rick James on Chappelle
3) Phil Jackson has to be one of the chillest dudes ever, I would love to know him
-
It’s been awesome. If they put all the episodes out at once I would have stayed up until 6AM watching them all.

Episodes 5 and 6 tonight :excited:

I really enjoy the enduring hate between Jordan and Zeke that seems to endure (at least on MJ's part) to this day.
I think it was episode 3 or 4 when they played Thomas' talking about not shaking hands after the Bulls finally kicked Detroit's ass, and MJ was like "yeah, he can say what he wants, but he's still an bad person."
Thomas always seemed like a phony/ bad person to me.
-
I really liked Isiah when I was a kid but he has done a lot of work to reverse that

Hard to fake the "good guy" persona forever.
This article from 2010 isn't worth reading, but it does have Thomas as the No. 1 MHOAT NBA player.

I should add that I wasn't even a Jordan/Bulls fan. They were like the Patriots to me. Was ready to see them lose. I think People who watched Jordan in the Mid-80s have a different perspective on him than us kids who grew up with Jordan and the Bulls winning every year.

I had a back-2-back pistons shirt that I think I stole from my dad who was a bad boys era pistons fan for whatever reason. Prob why I liked Isiah too.

The one with Chuck Daly and the Bad Boys all drawn in caricature style?
-
There was a Run TMC cartoon shirt that was popular with townies. I failed to find that image, but did find this phenomenal portrait!

hell yeah
-
I think calling Zeke a fake nice guy is an unfair characterization. All of the issues that MJ, Magic, and Bird had with him had to do with on court crap.
-
do people think just because he smiled a lot he was nice? he never had a reputation as nice.
-
Maybe because he's little?
-
i'd say because he's smaller, his smile, and his soft, calm voice are probably reasons. i honestly didn't know anything about the bad boys growing up, was slightly too young in their prime. do enjoy hearing these stories.

That is amazingly 90s.
-
90s NBA was awesome. 2000s NBA was pretty good. 2010s NBA was great. Current NBA is different, but still good/great.
I really think the NBA is the most fun pro sports league out there. It really is fantastic.

This was definitely not the case for me.. Closest geographically, fun team, best player in the league, had a character or two on the team. they basically were the chiefs for me back then. + space jam. only thing I hated was that mj was never in video games (until later on)
-
I loved Run TMC, as much as one could like the Warriors at the time. They were only together for two years and hardly on television.
-
the last couple minutes of ep 7 were great.
also i had no idea mj's dad was murdered, i guess i was too young. imagine my :sdeek: while watching that ep

Yeah, same. I knew he died but assumed it was natural causes.

You guys should watch the ESPN 30 for 30, "Jordan Rides the Bus." It's about his decision to play baseball and his career in baseball. I haven't seen episode seven yet because it's not popping up on Comcast for some reason, but the ESPN 30 for 30 suggests he pursued baseball after his dad died because his dad always wanted him to be a baseball player.

or the last dance episodes from last night?
-
Very proud to say that I watched Space Jam about 2-3 weeks ago.
-
When I get married, I'm going to have the theme from Space Jam played at my wedding.

I had the Space Jam sound track. I might still have it if I can find my Pepsi points CD holder.

I still haven't watched last night's episodes because episode seven isn't available on Comcast for some reason.

Watching this reminds how much I enjoyed watching nba games in the 80s and 90s.

That was great
-
Scott Burrell deserved everything he got from Jordan. 10 minutes, 0-1, 0 rebounds, assists, steals and -17 +/- in game 6

lol. That was hilarious when he told Ahmad not to say anything to him, because he’d have a heart attack.
-
Anyone know if something's wrong with MJ's health? Last few years, his eyes look kind of yellow. They didn't always look like that.
-
Alcoholism and smoking cigars like heaters will do that to ya.
-
Liver can only handle so much of it.
-
I used to know a guy with yellow eyes like that and always figured it was from smoking cause the guy smoked a crap ton but I don't think he drank much.
-
MJ looked to be smoking a cigar in every scene that didn't involve a basketball in his hand. Truly impressive. I can only imagine how much water he drank to counteract his dry mouth and the fluids he was losing during games/practices. I enjoy cigars every once in awhile but have never been a smoker. Can frequent smokers chime in here on the difficulty of smoking and being a bad-ass athlete?
-
So did a search and came upon this article:
https://www.cigaraficionado.com/article/michael-jordan-a-cigar-before-every-home-game (https://www.cigaraficionado.com/article/michael-jordan-a-cigar-before-every-home-game)
Apparently he smokes 6 cigars a day now. I'm assuming that would make a person's eyes pretty yellow.
-
I’d forgotten that Jordan sliced his own finger tendon after the 98 season.

I loved bird coming up to Jordan after game 7 and saying "you bitch, eff you"

One of my favorite exchanges of the series. Brought me back to junior high.
-
I think this has ruined my expectations for 30 for 30's and other sports docs.. watched long gone summer and it was just ok.. and I really loved that season of juice ball

I enjoyed Long Gone Summer. Nothing new, really, but brought back some nostalgic memories.
