Title: Too Much Time On Your Hands
Post by: ChiComCat on April 14, 2020, 01:14:31 PM
I have been spending my additional free time watching Travolta movies.

Only rating ones I've watched recently (will update):

1. Face/Off -  Travolta v. Cage in a crazy off
2. Battlefield Earth - Unfortunately, the sequel never got made and there are a lot of loose ends
3. The General's Daughter - Generic 90s thriller
4. Phenomenon - Spoiler: Kyra Sedgwick sexes alien-tumored Travolta to death
5. One of the Look Whos Talking sequels - Kirstie Alley continues her streak of being the best actress in Hollywood.  Travolta seemingly gets promoted from taxi driver to pilot.  The babies talk to eachother without moving their mouths.  They should put peanut butter on their mouths but maybe they were allergic?

I was going to start something like this for the ultra nerdy crap I've been doing lately.

#1 -  watching a dude play civ 6 on YouTube. I'm hooked, each game is like usually around twelve 45 minute episodes, I've probably watched like 6 games in the last two weeks. Just finished up an epic 20 episode game with Alexander of Macedonia, teetering on the edge of defeat the whole time. It was wild.

I've been playing a lot of Golden Tee at home. I've become something of a master, at least on the home version.

I did some Civ6 but still suck.  I may need to watch some videos

Yeah, I've always played very casually on a low difficulty setting, it's not a game I play for a challenge.

1. I made a 9 hole par 3 golf course on the farm.

2. I have not played poker seriously in about 15 years but started playing online again. Got killed at first figuring it out again but slowly working my way back to even. I'll probably get bored with it before I get back to even.

3. Rewatched all 5 seasons of The Wire for the 3rd time.

I'm not sure how your job's been effected but between kids and what I imagine is a super busy wife, this doesn't surprise me.

1. cooking new to me recipes: french onion soup, shakshuka, sweet potato tacos. so far all delicious!
2. fb marketplace - have sold some bikes and lenses i don't use anymore, picked up a super nice roof rack thing
3. handymanning - currently fixing that annoying squeak in the dryer (it was the cotton rocksucking rear drum bearing, but i'm gonna go ahead and replace the belt and the bearing slides while i'm at it)
                          - building a coffee table

I sold off my target retirement which has half of my portfolio so I am going to be putting that to work. I should probably do a day where I just post in the investing thread in my CNBC character with my trades.

Having been in Canada for 16 months has left me plenty to do while working at home around the house. But I so really love using my pullup bar and doing pushups and running a mile or so twice a week. My upper body is going to be crazy strong by the end of this. I also eat way more though now so we'll see how it evens out. I also enjoy my commute to work it now like 20 ft. Massive time saver.

every day i've cut/plucked a different hair from my body.
i'm labeling each one with a time/date stamp, area of body where the hair came from, and a random thought i assign to each hair.
i'm collecting them and hope to fashion a very avant-garde coat to use next winter

We've started getting LOTS more texts from family (who we normally never see anyway). My wife has been replying with animated emoji things. I mean, she sort of makes a game out of trying to pick ridiculous ones. For example,

Relative: I don't know if you saw it, but here's a link to some dumb K-State thing.
