Couple weeks ago we were remarking among the Mods that if we win 2 out of the upcoming stretch of @MSU,@OSu, BU, TCU then we’d be “on track” at being pretty good. 3-1 was thought to mean that we are dang good (like Alamo bowl good), and 4-0 meant watch out OU and damn, son.
Both OSU and Baylor look pretty good to me, but I think we have a real good shot at 3-1. 4-0 still seems unlikely to me, but the mere fact I am entertaining the idea blows my rough ridin' mind.
-
We're 3-0 with 3 winnable games before OU rolls into town. I think the toughest one is @OSU. We get a bye and something tells me that is a much better thing to have with Kli than previously. If we get to 4-0, we get the next two at home, and have a legit shot of 6-0, top 10? and gameday with OU. Holy crap I just typed that.
-
When we win at OSU in 2 weeks I am going to lose my mind with excitement....and we are going to win that game.
-
Not looking past next Saturday.
-
Yeah maybe check the OSU game score right now. We’ll be fine.

That's not next week, bud,.#fattyfest

ksu has started 3-0 with a power 5 road win twice before:
1999 (vs temple, vs utep, @ iowa state); finished 11-1
2011 (vs eastern ky, vs kent st, @ miami); finished 10-3

I agree with all of this, and I cannot believe after last season, that what you just said is a very realistic possibility.
:ksu:
-
@OSU is going to be tough no matter the lead up, but our bye combined with their Texas gives us about as good a shot as you could hope for.

I think it also helps that our team is just better than them.
-
oSu's run defense sucks.
-
As long as we can catch the punts that they will be kicking to us all night long, we should run their raggedy asses up and down their own football field and beat them by about 30.
-
For reasons I can't explain, I think we beat osu by a couple touchdowns.

Nobody's asking or expecting you to. I like the attitude and thought.
By you and everyone.
Good Lord this feels good again.
-
We will hit them in the mouth early and establish our dominance, OSU looks soft.
-
oSu's run defense sucks.
:dubious:
oSu rush defense: 3.6 ypp (#51 in ncaa)
ksu rush defense: 4.7 ypp (#100 in ncaa)

Against that powerhouse Mcneese state.
Oregon state and Tulsa have proven to be hot garbage with a combined record of 2-4. Oregon state was running fine until they got desperate and started throwing it all over.

oh ok eastcat

factor into your algo that the cats have usually played well down in stillwater, and the last time we were down there i believe skylar was slinging the pill (chucking the football) all over the yard (football field)

'member how close we were to losing the home opener to Eastern Kentucky? That game was terrifying and lollerific at the same time.

2007 was the game that wasn't on TV. I was there with the radio station. It was like 54-51 OSU or something.
I watched the game with filly in 2011 in Wichita vs OSU. I think that's when I got video'd leaving Trim's super PAK'd or he and EMAWgeddon called and left like a 5 minute VM on my phone at like 2 AM. It was one of them.
-
2011 might be my favorite Cats season. So many close games with CK just willing us to win each time.
-
I really like our chances against TCU and Baylor. OSU will be a tough one. Glad we have a week to get Hubert healthy. It'd be a real shame if anyone from OSU got banged up against Texas this weekend.
-
IIRC 2011 was shootout where TLBL got his spleen busted on the last play of the game and add such wasn't able to catch what would have been the game winning TD with like 7 seconds left. Also in that time slot was bama LSU and I think the final score in that game was like 6-3 or 9-3

Yup, that Bama LSU game was being hyped as "The Game of the Century" but what an absolute snoozefest. And I think it had to go to overtime just for someone to hit the mythical 9 point barrier.
-
TLB spleen got popped on a kick return for TD I believe
-
oh ok eastcat
Thanks for seeing the light mocat.
-

Could be. For some reason I'm remembering him in the endzone jumping for a ball and getting a helmet right to the spleen and then he was laying in the back of the EZ for a while but I could be totally misremembering
-
I think we win several more games this year for sure
-
yes we may have lost a bunch of the games in stoolwater (lmfao to purple), but all of the games down there are seemingly down to the wire. doesn't matter how they look, or we look, we play well down there. therefore, we go down there and whip dat ass

Also, there is a common thread in all those losses who is no longer here.

Whenever I'm sad, I watch the last 3 or 4 minutes of game time of that game. Always makes me feel better.

This weekend, TCU lost to SMU at home, and Baylor got a scare at home from Rice ( Baylor was scoreless in 2nd half of the game). So, it still looks like @OSU will be the toughest...and more importantly, purplehaze’s prophecy is still on track.

HAMMER the cats!
-
Cats ML is the lock of the season.
-
Win or lose, I don't want the Qatz to leave Stillwater in as bad of shape as Texas was after their game with OSU. 'Pokes may have made our chances with Texas a little easier with all the injuries that were sustained in that game.
-
They are notoriously dirty.

Well, we went 2-2. However, I do not think we are “on track” to be good this year. It’s possible that we will be favored in only 1 game. We could play our best football and still win only 2 more games....and I think it will take our best football to beat both KU and WVU. I personally wouldn’t bet on winning any more than that.
-
Texas is unpredictable
-
I think this staff will win 6. We really only have 3 winnable games left, so the @KU game is pretty huge.
-
6 wins is still a good year for a new coaching staff.
-
RP got 7.
-
RP got 7.
With a freshman QB none the less. But, he lost to KU, and ultimately lost to KU three times in a row. Any K-State coach who loses to KU thee times in a row should be fired. That should be in the contract, IMO.
-
we still need a glorious restoration.
-
After we beat KU, getting 1 win between WVU/TT/ISU seems like a pretty good shot at going bowling

Also losing to isu once.

And every season his teams got worse.

I think we may have a better shot at winning in Lubbock than Lawrence, and we’ll definitely be the underdog in both.

I'll bet anything you want that we won't be an underdog in Lawrence. West Virginia was a 5 point favorite at KU the week after they doubled up Boston College.
Also after OU, there isn't a game on the schedule that wouldn't be a shock if we won or lost any of them.
-

This is a good analysis
-
Our defense is pretty good, and KU's defense sucks. However, defenses do not need to be good to shut down our offense. We had 94 yards rushing yesterday, and 60 of that was on one surprise draw play from Skyler.
It will be interesting to see if KU's offensive explosion was a fluke against Tech in Lawrence this week. If they do it to Tech, then we could be in trouble.
