I’m sorry I was blinded by all those green up arrows at the bottom of the article. What are you bitching about now? You’re mad at everything all the time anymore SD. So stop lying and just admit you’re a LibDerp.

the desire to manipulate our currency dax. it's in the actual thread title. I don't know what green arrows you're referring to because I've got ad blocker on.

So you get all your information from Twitter and didn’t read the Bloomberg article??
The dollar hasn’t been this high relative to the 10 relevant global currency in 16 years. Thus it drives global buyers of heavy capital goods straight into the arms of the ChiComs, Koreans and India. Not to mention likely hurts Boeing against AirBus.
Manufacturing orders are slowing, rail and truck delivery orders are slowing which is a leading indicator and the dollar riding so high doesn’t help.
If the US has another deep recession your guy and W probably used up all the money tricks to get things kicked started again. Albeit the banks themselves are likely on more solid ground then they were 11 years ago.
Ya dig

So we republicans are now pro-currency manipulation not no?

You’re bitching about something that hasn’t even happened.

Where Trump is dumb here is that another Fed cut likely only pushes the dollar higher as global investors seek a safe haven in Treasuries. Which makes US debt offerings a desired item, thus possibly putting the printing press back in play in case of a deep recession.

...Trump is dumb here...
Common ground thread!

It is a pretty good point. You aren't just going to change your stance to be all in on currency manipulation until Trump actually starts manipulating currency.

important to wait until it actually happens before you make that 180

Remember when Trump said he was going to take everyone's guns first, and worry about due process later? How embarrassing would it have been to start supporting that position before the NRA reminded him who his boss is?
-
Sad thing is, you guys didn't lose your minds like this when your guy was talking about incarcerating American citizens they thought might be terrorists without charge and on an indefinite basis.
Now you're losing your minds over a call to an autonomous body for a quarter point drop in interest rates. SMDH
Priorities I suppose.

Good point in this, the currency manipulation thread

I'm just amazed at the stuff you guys lose your minds over . . . but I shouldn't be, because it's pretty much everything.
By all means, carry on with your face down ass up trade mentality.

Doesn't that have to do with the over reaching hand of the government on the individual?
Weird take.

Talked Obama jail sentences in the currency manipulation thread like someone who is definitely NOT old and confused

You guys are more mad about a request to an autonomous body to reduce interest rates then you were about an administration contemplating acting unilateral;ly to detain American citizens indefinitely, without charge, while they were assassinating American citizens (I just lied, you weren't mad at all about the latter).
That's how insane your movement has become.

Great read. I can’t tell if the author was hinting at advocacy for anything — sound money, freely manipulated paper currency, crypto, or some combo. I’m not that smart is prob why. Maybe he just found it interesting. I did.

Glad you enjoyed it as much as I did. The history of currency is fascinating to me. Also how currency is managed and how the third party acts. Obviously this helps with understanding why Bitcoin is so important, but it also highlights how money is viewed in general.
If you’re interested I would read the first ~130 pages of The Bitcoin Standard. Although it’s a book about why Bitcoin truly is digital gold, it only mentions Bitcoin in passing maybe 5 times in those first 130 pages. If you’re interested more in Bitcoin finish the book. The book though delves into the history of money, and touches many points the article does about why/how/should money be priced.
It was a real eye opener into how/why our financial system works and why we have less purchasing power now and in the future.
