Title: highly tecnhical chemE help (only science high level discussion)
Post by: Kat Kid on July 21, 2019, 07:02:47 PM
HELP!

I bought some Sonic ice (limited time only).  You know the kind.  Soft, little chunks that are perfect for cooling your drink and then slowly forming in to a soft iceberg in your mouth and crushing slowly like an industrial press with your molars.

TECHNICAL HELP QUESTION

what is the proper temp for storing this ice without it turning too hard?  Do I just need to let it "defrost" in the fridge for a bit before consuming?  Leave it out on the counter and wait 5 min?  It is NOT RIGHT straight from my freezer and I might as well just be eating my crushed ice from the fridge like a peasant.

as a person who has done this many many times, the best thing to do is to buy a cheap styrofoam cooler and put the ice in there when you get home from sonic.  then make drinks and get paked using it, then dump the water after it melts.
the ice melts too much between sonic and home and as you mentioned, it refreezes into a shitty state in your home freezer.

Take the bag out of the freezer, hold it flat about waist high, then let it drop on the floor. Repeat as necessary.

What’s wrong with the ice machine in the butlers pantry?
