Inheriting a fortune and running a real estate company.

Are we talking hard-to-obtain jobs or jobs that are simple to execute (assuming you have the wherewithal to do it)?
Being an instagram model is relatively easy -- you just take pictures of yourself and products. Being super hot requires some work though. Tricky Q.

The tricky component is the getting "mad bank" part. Yeah anyone can take a picture of yourself and products, but convincing someone to give you a lot of money to do that? Hard.

when i was like 20, i was a courier for a hospital lab and it was like the greatest crap ever. i would just drive around all day, listen to talk radio and pick stuff up from clinics and take it back to the hospital. would absolutely be my "something to do" job if i was a lottery winner or something.

I'd take pitchers. Only work once every 5 days and if a "day" counts as 9 innings then you're only going to work 67-78% of that day most of the time anyway. Unless you're having an amazing day in which case you can work a full day under special circumstances and if you're having a bad day you'll probably only work a 1/2 day before the boss sends you home early. Man what a gig

I hope you’re kidding because your “work day” is the easiest day of the week for a pitcher.

What is this? Like does the recruiter go around to high schools looking for psychopaths that like picking at people with metal hooks or talk to people while their mouth is full, drop some hundy handshakes, and get them to come to UMKC dental?
Or do they recruit for some old about to retire dentist in the college ranks trying to find a new hot shot dentist to take over their practice?

So much I don't know about the dental game. I thought dentists just graduated and opened an office and did dentist stuff on their own. Do you recruit for like a dental conglomo or something?
-
Yeah, we have 35+ practices in 3 states. New grads come out with like 300k in debt. They need experience and if they open up their own office right away that’s another 200K plus in debt. Many need corporate dentistry for the experience, benefits, loan repayment, etc. Also, many of the peeps leave their crap private practice to come work for us (crap traffic), because they don’t understand management with their staff or the books or all of the above.

Whatever SD does
it's hard AF and I work until midnight roughly 3 times a week and have to fly around and be away from my kids too often and I drink too much to compensate. i'll probably die young from stress and the unhealthy habits I have from dealing with that stress. my wife and I barely see each other outside of times we are co-parenting or both working in front of a laptop in the evening (literally right now) and when we do actually have a conversation without work or a child in front of us we are like, "hey, how have you been? haven't talked in like 4 months. things good?"

I worked close to 60 a week for a while in my early 20's, I couldn't do that now if my life depended on it.

If you have the option to make $100K for 40/wk, what's the salary that would be worth it to you for working 60/wk? Asking for a friend.

$250K for 60 hours MINIMUM. And I don't know how long I could keep that up, but I'd shoot for a couple years.
-
60 hours a week isn't that bad.
It's more that I have better things to do.

ok, so say you make 30k/40hr would you do 60hr for 80k, I think I would have to figure out how to do the 60 hr. Thats a whole different life.

yeah. i guess it's pretty important to have some weeks off. otherwise it would get oppressive.

That decision is way easier to work the 60 on
-
My time is weird. Like, I have no schedule/hours/etc and don’t have to be anywhere specific on earth the majority of my time. 20% of my time I’m suited up and doing professional business man stuff in whatever city with business people nerds. The other 80% is just phone and email and joggers and hoodies. So a lot of time I’ll be on the phone and doing deal master art of trump dealing but I’m making kraft macaroni and cheese for my kids. I’m not 100% present for this time as I’m dealing deals. But I’m also still making the Mac and cheese. Is that “work time”? About 1/3 of my “work” is done like that. So, basically I’m saying I do 60 hour weeks often but it looks like that. If I had to do 60 with my ass in the office for those 60 i’d require a hell of a lot more than $250k to do so.

Salary has no bearing on how much you need to retire, only how fast you get there.

'clams - 8'

I'm 5-10. TBT is definitely 5-6" taller than me. Good guess on Stevesie. He wasn't much taller than me. I've not met the rest of you IRL.

Is the OP for "easiest job to GET that you can make bank" or "easiest job to DO that you can make bank" or both?
Working in "investor relations" in most public companies is ridiculously easy, and makes good money....but usually not an easy job to get. The qualifications are usually that you must be literate in Finance (e.g. very good finance vocabulary, but not actually good at Finance), good public speaker and articulate writer, and good looking. Think of a weatherman who knows how to bullshit about investment banking and markets. Again, there is ZERO need to actually be able to do math beyond adding and subtracting. You could bomb biz calc as long as you can talk about corporate finance in an eloquent way whilst looking good doing it....so, that's either super easy for you, or it is super hard for you.
A an easy job to get, that is actually pretty hard to do, which makes good money, are the trades. Plumbing, electrician, carpentry, etc. Find a good community college or vocational/technical program and go get trained up. Then, take whatever job seems like will teach you the most. After a couple of years (or until you know what the eff you are doing), start buying complete crap hole houses for cheap (on the side), and fix them up at night. Trade "trades" with other folks (plumbers trade with electricians, etc.) and help each other out (i.e. barter). Flip the houses or rent them out (I recommend renting them out). Keep doing this at the pace of about 1 a year for 15 - 20 years. Then, retire and babysit your properties, or just flip houses full time. Better path to retirement than about any other job I know of, but be ready to work your ass off during those 15 - 20 years.

I have several tradesmen friends following your plan. One of my oldest friends has enough rental income to pay for in home nursing care for he and his wife once needed. When they both die, the properties roll to the kids for a very nice inheritance. Always paid cash for his properties. Did a lot of work himself. Already turned the HVAC company over to the boys. Also making a nice profit check from that.
