Talk about an impressive debut for NET. Of the 1-4 seeds, 14 of them advanced to the S16. Only Kansas and (a Wade-less) Kansas State failed.

This amount of chalk is almost unprecedented. Looks like the same exact result happened once before in 2009, where the S16 regions were 1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 5, and 1 2 3 12.

I picked a ton of chalk this year - got 13 of the S16. Missed only on Marquette (Fl State), Wisconsin (Oregon), and Cincinnati (Tennessee).

It’s the area under the basket where you can’t be called for a charge.  I was making the statement in jest but I suppose mid majors shoot more 3’s and take more charges potentially.

He didn't count Gonzaga as a mid major so I have to wonder about his methodology. Did he count them at some point then stopped counting them. What about Memphis? BYU? Butler at one point was certainly a mid major, are they now? For consistency sakes he should just take the top 6 or 7 conferences. Also Wichita State 2013?  Loyola Chicago last year?  Since they were both Missouri Valley at the time, is that a top conference, or below mid-major?

Wait, you think it would have been a good idea to dump our entire big man depth, two freshmen who played a combined 8 games, to take a chance on potentially getting a grad transfer? You know it's not PlayStation right? The roster has to be managed.

You seem to be making a statement on the perceived quality of the depth, I was not. At this time, a year ago, neither you or the coaches had enough information to determine whether or not those two players you mentioned needed to be run off. Again, it's not PlayStation coaches don't have the luxury of running off freshman big men because they aren't starting as freshmen.

If as you say the coaches were not aware of that, it is a revealing indictment of their talent evaluation skills. The grad transfer system presented staff the opportunity to improve the team's talent level with little risk.  Many teams that had success in the tournament took advantage of that opportunity. I can't think of one grad transfer Oscar has signed. He is behind the times and he. needs adjust.

You're obtuse.  I'm going to use that instead of stupid, hard headed, dumbfuck. James Love missed the entire 2017-18 season with an injury, one he incurred before the season started. Nigel Shadd got injured 7 games into the year and received a medical hardship. How in the eff was it obvious that they weren't good enough to contribute given they were both medically unable to play until this fall? Bottom line is they both suck as D1 talent although they are probably swell people. They sucked when they were recruited and they will suck when thhey leave the program, which should have been a year ago and now will hopefully be in May. Love was a rough riding project like a couple other rogh raiding project bigs Oscar brought who did not stick. There was no reason to keep him around when there was an opportunity to bring in someone who could help the team.  Obtuse is thinking there was any potential upside there.
