Okay, so I know there are a bunch of super smart and handsome college grads here, I just don't know if any of you have medical degrees of any sort. But, I'm gonna ask for some assistance anyway.
So, the "serious" part of this is just that I need serious advice and/or knowledge. The surgery itself isn't life threatening. Go ahead and exhale now.
I'm looking at shoulder surgery #4. I'm only 35. This one would be a Proximal Biceps Tenotomy. And I COULD technically do without this one. But, quality of life, as explained to me today, would/could greatly increase with this procedure.
I won't go into any more medical history before I find out if anyone here has subject expert knowledge from education or even personal experience. But with 3 prior surgeries on this shoulder, the file is, uh, long. And distinguished ;)

Ever thought about stem cell injections?
-
I don't know much about this but I will definitely recommend to go balls out on the rehab because I have been a complete lazy pos about 2 rehabs and lost significant range of motion on both and really regret it.

I have not. I have heard about them, but not done any research with regard to my specific problems. Gonna remedy that now, thanks.

Yeah, it's no joke! Luckily my 3rd surgery gave me a huge boost to my range of motion and I've stayed on it ever since.

I'd look for a good physical therapist or some other alternative treatment and try to avoid surgery. Unless you're pretty sure they have figured it out for surgery number 4

Yeah, I appreciate that thought. I've been doing every type of PT available since my last post-surgical rehab a few years ago.
Talked to a Specialist this morning, and she spoke with me at length, then all of a sudden squeezed my shoulder at the exact pain point. She seemed VERY confident that this would give me more relief than any other option.
I'm just looking for free second opinions, haha.

Yeah I would go the PT route at all costs to avoid another surgery. There may not be a better way but man surgeries suck ass. I have had a lot of surgeries but never a shoulder one. I had shoulder bursitis once and it was like someone sticking an ice pick in it whenever I would try and throw a baseball. Good luck man.

Ha!!! I've actually already tried that route.
Pros and cons, biggest con being I work for the Federal Gov so even a trace of THC or anything and I'm toast. Not worth it.

Steroids, maybe some HGH or whatever the kids are taking these days.

Every type? :dubious:

I mean, I've done typical PT, strength/range of motion, trigger point needling, acupuncture, some "scraping" thing with these specialized plastic blades, e-stim, and steroid injections...
Not sure about how many other options are out there, but I'm open to possibilities of which I'm unaware.

have you considered having your head transplanted onto a healthier donor body?

I have! But I'd honestly miss certain, um, parts of myself.
Like my tattoos and mustache, and whatnot ;)

You have a mustache somewhere other than on your head :horrorsurprise:

I'm actually not aware of any physicians posting on this blog, let alone orthopedists. But there are a ton of lawyers, and rest assured we are watching for improper "medical" advice

Hey guys! Mrs. Bf is a Med-Ped hospitalist. Med-Peds is a shortened term for “Combined Internal Medicine & Pediatrics”. She can stabilize and start treatments for a wide variety of conditions then send you off to the correct subspecialist. Sorry for the late reply C-dub.
