I ain't thinking about no sharing this title. 7 it is.
I see 5 wins at least in what we have left.
-
insert that michael scott gif where he says he's ready to get hurt again
-
If we want it outright we are going to have to win in Lawrence. I think this team can do it.
-
If we want it outright we are going to have to win in Lawrence. I think this team can do it.
Shared titles are dumb and shouldn't count. Nobody gets to class.a title if multiple teams can claim a title.
-
If we want it outright we are going to have to win in Lawrence. I think this team can do it.
i could see a situation where they lose at TCU and/or Tech and we only lose two more but you're PROBABLY right
-
KU will lose once in The Pagoda of Piss this season. Mark it down.
-
KU is probably in the backseat repeatedly asking to turn the station to AC/DC but we just turn up the volume on Sandstorm FM because the driver gets to control the radio.
-
i think i'd rather finish 2nd than share the title with an iowa state or baylor
-
If we want it outright we are going to have to win in Lawrence. I think this team can do it.
In what world is KU going to start knocking off road wins? They've already lost on to road to the worst team in the league, a team that lost at home to Texas by 30.
-
i think i'd rather finish 2nd than share the title with an iowa state or baylor
I don't think I'd mind Baylor so much. Flood Aggie would be like... You play a round of golf with a guy and you get your first ever hole in one but he beats you by a stroke on the round, then anytime you talk about it you're like "well I got my first ever h-" and then he just jumps in practically shouting making sure everyone knows he beat you

When TCU runs them out of the gym tonight you can come laugh in my fat face.

Honestly, this. It's been true multiple times throughout their 14 year run.

I mean except for the time in '13 that we should have won outright without winning the game in Lawrence.

It's gonna be S15AIGHT isn't it?
-
It's gonna be S15AIGHT isn't it?
Yes. This was the hardest game left on their schedule. They can afford another loss and still tie for 15.
-
Man self is the goat, he’s putting together a masterpiece
-
There’s just so many games left still. I’m struggling to understand why so many are acting like this was a make or break for any team.
-
Every game is make-or-break for us at this point. But KSU appears to have vaccinated themselves to losing again, so relax.
-
rumblings Cartier is done for the year after having surgery today. Did not make trip to Austin.
-
Who on Earth is stupid enough to predict anything other than 15 Str8? Honestly.
-

Surgery on what? This sounds more like grumblings....
-
please no
-
rumblings/grumblings have been surgery on his finger. finger is apparently on his left hand.
-
I can confirm he has fingers on his left hand. Not liking the sound of this.
-
Who on Earth is stupid enough to predict anything other than 15 Str8? Honestly.
Jesus, SB, we get it, for fucks sakes.
-
The finger surgery story makes no sense. An injury maybe makes sense, but it would have had to have been an unbelievably bad injury.

Shooting hand.

yeah. either ligament damage or a broken finger would be the only things that would require surgery. unless he has a dreaded finger hernia. that would be devastating.
-
well ncaa tournament is in 5 weeks, fingers ( :frown:) crossed it's like the wade thing where we thought he was done forever but was just a few weeks.

100% worth it
-
So he's out "indefinitely", per release.
If we can get him back for the Big 12 torn-uh-ment then I can live with it.
-
Just when I was ready to start believing...
-
We get so consumed in footwatch we completely forget about the fingers
-

B12 is in 3 weeks. NCAA tourney in a little over 4.
If it was a legit "surgery" to fix something broken/torn in his shooting hand, the dude is done for the year. If it was some sort of procedure (I have no idea what it could be), there is maybe a chance, I guess.
-
Did he injure it in practice? Did I miss him getting hurt in the Baylor game?
-
Did he injure it in practice? Did I miss him getting hurt in the Baylor game?
hey said practice, which I don't get, because they probably had Sunday off. Must have happened yesterday.
-
Just when I was ready to start believing...
Huge knock on my morale...
-
every year we sacrifice one player to the gods. it's in the prophecy.
-
McGuirl's shooting has been more consistent this year. He should be a pretty effective scoring replacement when teams go zone. Going to be tough to replace the rest of Cartier's production though.
-
If all the other guys just score 2 more points each per game we'll be more than ok.
-
Cartier was just starting to turn it on though. Oh well, this team thrives under adversity (minus the Wade thing this year).
-
So here's a little light reading I did late last night: https://www.aafp.org/afp/2006/0301/p810.html
Based on my extensive background in regards to injuries as they relate to the finger, my guess is that Carti has a disruption of the flexor digitorum profundus tendon (aka JERSEY FINGER).
-
You don’t see swag factor on the advanced stats and this loss basically puts us back at 0 :frown:
-
We're fine. Cats by 12 tonight.
-
Gerald green is missing a finger in his shooting hand. Is amputation a possibility?

Oklahoma State Yor anei is missing two or three fingers

Maybe they could keep the finger on ice and then sew it back on once basketball is over.

I think Carti's true value was his willingness and ability to dribble into the gaps in the zone. I don't know who will do that now, Kam and Barry seem much more reluctant.
-
Carti is also extremely hot, and while i'll be interested to see what he's wearing on the sideline, i'm not sure that will help us on the floor

Totally. Has a great first step.

Gary Parrish, known "DUD", just said on 810 that usually when it comes to something like this, it isn't practice, he probably got in a fight or hit a wall or something. :'bye cruel world:

Magic number - 6

Magic number is 4. The winner of this conference will be 13-5. Nobody is going 15-3.
-

13-5 gets you at least a share. 14-4 (or better) and you hog it.
-
why settle for 13-5 when 16-2 is available?
-
Wacky that isn’t how magic numbers work.
-
They've been doing this on 810 a lot lately and with the remaining schedules, I think 13-5 wins it outright and 12-6 is like a 3 team tie. That win last night was huge. Beat the Cyclones at home on Saturday and we can pretty much walk to the finish line in the Big 12 after that.
-
i want to go into senior day against OU with the conf already won outright, and just roll to purple all day long
-
I mean that’s fine that 810 is doing some season predictions, but a magic number is a mathematically defined term that has nothing to do with that.
-
The magic number is 1729.
-
nope, magic number is 4, even if that can mathematically still not be enough to win the conference, case closed, move on
-
Wow, M^2 is in a mood today. :frown:
-
relax, it's wednesday
-
exactly, bud. Yikes.

13-5 might win it outright, but I could very easily see KU going 5-1 in their last 6 and us going 4-3 in our last 7 to produce the tie.
Obviously, if we win in Lawrence, that would probably be the dagger.
-
So steffy are you trying to tell me that -- there could exist -- some combination of cats Ws and ku Ls that would result in a conference championship?
-
please list all possible scenarios that leads to a Cats crown ITT
-
if we go by what espn says with their power index matchup predictor (which hates us i might add), it has us going 4-3 and ku going 4-2 to finish out. putting us at 13-5 and ku at 12-6.
we're road dawgs though i don't see us losing 3 times.
-
If KU goes 4-2, there's practically no way we don't win outright. We would have to totally collapse.
-
If we finish 12-6 we don’t deserve any piece of the title.
-

I would be embarrassed to call myself the champion of anything with a record that disgusting

updated cat27 (ge most reliably correct prognosticor) prediction, its going to take 14 wins to win this league.

-
We are so good we made Bill Self finally learn how to read conference standings.
-
Still 6 :ohno:
-
Guys why are we getting our hopes up
-
Still haven’t lost a conference game where Wade has been available the entire game. :dunno:
If we can get him back by Saturday (or really even next Monday) I think we’re fine.
-
I really want to wear a shirt with STRA1GHT on it
-
Kam is in a boot too and played like dogshit yesterday. We should let the big 3 take this week off and the scrubs can scratch out a win against the pokes and ‘eers
-
FTR losing to the worst team in the conference when we badly need a W is like bruce101
-
we might still beat WVU and OSU without Wade but i would call it 55/45 that we would.
our talent is not that much better than either of those teams and all it would take would be an above average shooting night from either of those teams or below average for KSU for us to lose 1 or both of those games.
without wade they will be nail biters.
im not sure people realize how absolutely horrid our bench is. i don't think we have another big other than mawein who would be on any other school's bball roster. anywhere.
diarra is really the only bench player who we don't lose a lot when we put him on the floor.
mcguirl, williams and stockard are atrocious. I'm really not sure if mawein would be given a scholarship by any other program in this league
-
that said, I would rather have my-ween than not have my-ween

Least surprising sock exposure of all time

you're really overrating everyone else's benches. ours is shitty but everyone's is going to be pretty shitty. diarra's a better-than-average starter-level player, can't compare bench players to him.
and mcguirl atrocious? gtfo
-
So oscar said he didn't even have enough players to practice on Thursday. Guys sick...something about feet and hands...I dunno. Hopefully we are healthy enough for tonight. Might explain Mawein looking like he can't keep up on the court.

Magic number 5!
Tme to obsess on the nothing net bracket generator!

We took a share of the lead at 4-2 in league play and never gave it up. Credit to Tech for finishing really strong and sharing with us, but leading the league for 2/3 of the conference season made for a fun ride.

MIR basically told us how it would all unfold 6 weeks ago in amazing detail. KU losing multiple road games, TTU being the biggest threat to the title, etc.
