Most win for who, and to what end?
-
Feels like a gimmie. I just now updated my personal tally of our conference record to 1-2.
-
We are due for a game where the jump shots fall through the hoop.
-
We should be using more slam dunk shots. You don't miss many of those.
-
I will email that suggestion to oscar.
-
I will email that suggestion to oscar.
I don't even need to take credit. If he wants, oscar can say it was his idea.

I already sent the email and gave you the credit. I wouldn't put it past oscar to go ahead and take the credit anyway, though.

That's ok, we'll all know better.
-
dunks, jump shots, passes, dribbling, rebounding, boxing out
HOOPS 101?
you guys make it all seem so easy but the facts are the facts. this team is NOT THE SAME TEAM without Claws who was B12 preseason POY. no team can be expected to be the same without that player who was named that by the preseason prognosticateurs.
bottom line? with wade we win this game. stokes, how is your foot? we need him at 100% and if he's not then he needs to get there asap.
-
After telling oscar about Chingon's suggestion, I told him that I agree with the sentiment and that he should tell Mawein that we "need him to turn into a dunk shootin' son of a bitch and fast." We will just see how Mawein responds to that.
-
They need quick feet and to keep their hands up. No way Texas makes all those threes if we get a hand up. Hand down, three down our throats and into the basket as they like to say.
-
Hoops 201:
The backdoor cut rimrocker. Slap the court on the way back down the floor, steal the ball, could have eagle-killing windmill dunked it but I'll finger roll it instead to shame you and then pat u on the ass for good effort.

WHO CARES
-
don't bury the leed
this game is about so much more than what happens in hoops 101 or hoops 201. honestly no one cares who wins that stuff. literally zero percent of people i asked said they cared.
this game is about renewable energy (mhk) versus coal (morgantown)
my research says that mhk is the leading town in north america of renewable energy, much of which comes from the highly controversial windmills
clean climate + chris klieman versus coal ash + bob huggins, which side are you on?
the dossier says the cats forge on and destroy the mountaineers on wednesday night in manhattan, ks
-
Cats win with Brown energy, Barry scores 50.
-
If we can just keep it within 10 at the half, I think we will be able to push ahead for the win in the second half, when their black lungs start to give out on them.
-
kind of feels like a must win, no?
If we can’t beat WVU at home we won’t make the tournament
-

If we can’t beat WVU at home we won’t make the tournament
This seems right. And...we should probably just rest Kamau until he is close to 100%.

I get the impression that it's going to be a constant issue for Kam the rest of the year.
-
oscar will win this one
-
what's our play hard chart record? more important and better indicator of how good our cats are than some subjective W-L record.

clams is right. This battle between the Clean Air Cats and the Collapse ags is about so much more than the dribbling and free throws. It has some pretty significant repercussions about the future of our beautiful country (America).

cats in the handshake line after the game:

I almost feel like our players should all huddle up in a closet and smoke a carton of cigarettes before the game to make things fair, but then I also think that college athletes are recruited nationally, and anyone who chose to play for West Virginia had other options that wouldn't have ruined their lungs. So we should probably use every advantage we can get and not feel bad about it.
-
Why do I think Huggins is going to own our asses on Wed?
-
Naturally born loser mentality?
-
-4 :Chirp:
-
i'd love to see us take a loss here, but it seems a tall task.
-
That was the worst half of basketball I have ever witnessed in my life.
-
And 1s are so frustrating as is, now they've had like a dozen at least
-
Jfc we can’t miss in the second half, this is crazy.
-
23.2 secs away from the biggest comeback in k-state history.
:ksu:
-
That was amazing wtf happened
-
You're welcome oscar.
-
What a comeback! Does anyone know when Claws is back so we dont have to deal with this offense anymore?
-
Dean*
-
the combined box numbers from are centers are something else, wow. also diarra has been dookie this year (so to speak)
-
Sorry @sys :frown:
-
The Flush went apeshit tonight. McSwag was throwing heat checks like Denis Clemente tonight. Mawein stood no chance against their bigs, that was rough.
-
-
How rough ridin' terrible were those announcers?
-

Did you really listen?
-
further box score thoughts: mawein 5 fouls in 6 minutes, has got to be close to a record for someone who wasn't intentionally fouling...also Barry with 38 minutes and Sneed with 39...props to their conditioning
-
Maybe he's born with it. Maybe it's Mawein??

If you ever break off and create your own sports blog I would follow you in a heartbeat.

I appreciate that, but I'm happy with my agreement here at goEMAW.com for the time being. The compensation is above market, and I find most of my colleagues to be delightful.
-
It was a delightful comeback to witness.
-
Crap, I missed it. I actually forgot we were playing last night. Quick recap of how it all went down?

Team lays massive egg first half, The Flush and McGuirl carry the team on their backs and score 70% of the points, mak fouls out with 9 minutes left to play, we got crushed on the glass and to a lesser degree FTR. Biggest comeback in the history of kstate basketball.

csourk addition: Sneed had an awesome 4 point to give the 'Cats a lead with about 2 minutes left. Reminiscent of Larry Johnson in the 1999 Eastern Conference Finals against the Pacers.

Also, Diarra got pulled a little over midway through the first half and never returned to the game. He had a v bad game last night.

i want this version of him back

It is very simple.....Diarra just isn't playing that hard. Last year, he would play defense in a low stance, shuffle his feat, and extend his wide arms, producing all sorts of problems for offenses. He would crash the defensive and offensive glasses hard. He was occasionally careless with the ball, but he would go hard to the hole. Completely different player this year; very passive. He plays defense standing up. He doesn't rebound hard. And he is very careless with his dribble.
When the WV guy went to the floor and beat Diarra for the ball last night, Weber had seen enough. Great move by Weber. Hopefully it kicks Diarra's rear into gear.
-
could be fighting an injury, he had to back out of the dunk contest.
-
Needs to cut his hair and wear less baggy shorts while he’s at it.
-

True. By my calculations, he is due for a major foot injury any day now.

Exactly right. Diarra also absentmindedly left his man before a WVU in-bounds play from half court with 5 seconds on the shot clock. His guy drained it.

Against Iowa State, the Diarra from last year made an appearance. He was all over the court, using his athleticism to rebound and get loose balls. He is such an asset when he plays like that.
Also, props to oscar for pushing the buttons that produced that result.
-
Great job by Diarra. Great job by oscar. Great job by everybody.
