Title: Stevesie’s High Thoughts
Post by: Stevesie60 on October 20, 2018, 02:40:59 AM
Can dogs only dream of what they have experienced? Are they capable of dreaming of say, flying? Or showing up to school naked? Or being late to something important?

I think they can probably only dream of what they have experienced. I mean perhaps they could dream of something they hadn’t experienced in some kind of twisted imagination but it would be rare.

Humans dream about things they haven't experienced.

I think dogs dream stuff they haven't experienced yet.

My dogs seem to be dreaming about something exciting, fairly frequently.  I bet it's something like chasing the neighbor's dog or a squirrel or something.   Those are things they wish they could do, and seem to occupy a lot of their barking time during the day.  Probably weighs heavy on them when they sleep.  So, that's stuff they haven't experienced, I guess.

Like, if a dog had a fear of falling into water, but hasn't yet, I bet it would dream about what might have happened. Or if there was a bully alpha dog it might dream about fighting it even if it hasn't.

A study removed the part of a dog's brain that keeps them "immobile" during sleep and then when the dog dreamed it would get up and act out its dream while having it.

You guys know how 4 would be a better basis for our number system but we made it based on 5 because of our fingers? Do you think the fact that the most soothing songs are in 4/4 time is evidence that our number system should be based on 4? Like our brains were already programmed to tune into 4?

Let your dogs do whatever they want.

There are as many real numbers between 0 and 1 as there are between 0 and infinity.

You know how green is actually more alerting to our eye than red? Crazy, right? But it’s true! Why did/do we all think red was the more alerting color for so long? You know how there’s that hypothesis/theory that humans couldn’t comprehend the color blue until recently? Is it related to that? Is this all insignificant and just chance?

Is “fart” an onomatopoeia?

colorblind people can't distinguish between red/green. which one alerts for them?

I guess what I am getting at is you are making things up and just because you are a druggie does not make it ok to lie to the people.

Hypothetical question I've pondered:

If the President decided you were basically Osama Bin Ladin and was coming after you starting now (and you knew it), how long could you evade authorities?

The government may not be concerned about charging them with a crime but they also wouldn't be concerned with their safety if it meant getting you.

Like 45 seconds... Now, give me a 12 hour head start and maybe I could make something happen for an extended period

What’s up with the mafia/insurance salesman in The Office? Was he just acting super aggressive because he knew they’d think he was mafia?
