it'll fail, and even if it didn't, congress would lollerkill it immediately. but i'll vote for it. the dilution of our representation in the senate as californians negatively impacts us all (all californians).

horserace analysis i've heard for 3 cal posits it as a net positive for pubs. goes from 2 dem senates to 4 dems and 2 swings, but also puts 1/3 of currently dem ca electoral college up for grabs. which, apparently is thought to be a better than even trade.
of course that's 2018, current trending would prolly bring the swing california (socal, btw) back to the dems eventually.
