Pretty bold move by the Chiefs to not make a draft pick last night. Sends a message to the AFC West. I LIKE IT!

QB, RB, and ILB are 3 spots they don't need to draft with any of their 2nd-4th Rd picks.
I'd rather trade up to get 1 or 2 players you may not get with picks 54,78,86.... as opposed to staying put, took the 3 players tommorow night and then get your two 4th Rd picks early Saturday morning. Get 3 good players in Top 4 rounds.
If Veach is the stud scout the Chiefs think he is, moving around to get certain players could have value. History has largely shown that the best way to draft talent is to have the most opportunity/picks. I think if you want 3 good players, you're best off making 5 picks.

CBS gave the pick a "C", which is the second worst grade they've given so far.

Obviously it's based where they have Speaks graded.
Mayock of NFL Network who is pretty decent at projections had him #69 overall. So KC may have been fine without trading up 8 spots.
Andy said he will start out as Edge OLB, but he played lots of spots for Ole Miss, so DE isn't out of question. KC plays a lot of 2DL 2 OLB (4 man front) look with 5 DBs. I just want to see us play 3 pass rushers (so Houston Ford KPass Speaks) when its a passing 3rd down or 2nd and long
CBS also had Michigan DT Hurst #7 overall. He's still on the board at 85. He's got health issues. So just shows you how "awesome" CBS is at analysis

He's 283 pounds. Not a Pro DT. More of a DE, but he can be a big OLB. Remember Houston is probably 270-275 and KPass is about 280

Pick #100 O'Brien is gonna be an in the box safety/LB in dime situations. If he lines up in the slot he will be covering TEs, not WRs like Fuller will guard when he lines up in the slot. O'Brien is also a superb special teams player.
Berry can play anywhere as a safety which is a big advantage with our D
Sorensen played different spots as a Safety in 2016, but was a box safety a lot in passing situations
Sorensen could be expendable right now. He's the backup SS. Murray and Golden are FS. Not sure if McQuay is good enough to be the 4th safety on the roster come GameDay. If we cut Sorensen, I'd be fine (saves 2.3M for the Cap). Chiefs have to decide if Berry got hurt for few games, is there someone on our roster who could be better than Sorensen at filling in.

KC also drafted a guy who had 102 rushing attempts and 31 receptions in his JR season for a Big 12 team. That guy wasn't drafted to be a RB, and I'm guessing the day after the draft he wasn't penciled in even as the team's 3rd WR.

Wacks, no one is arguing otherwise, but that shouldn't prevent someone from having strong feelings one way or the other.

We ended up having a 2nd, two 3rds, and a 4th. Trading up twice only cost us a mid 4th Rd pick. FS Watts was our 4th rounder. 4 year starter for aTm.
We got an Edge rusher, a DT/NT to help with our run D. Got a LB who will come in and replace either Hitchens/Ragland on passing downs, then a FS to compete with 2 FS (Murray/Golden) who haven't been starters in their careers.
A CB to compete with Amerson/Nelson for the #2/3 CBs is only spot they didn't attack with these 4 Defensive picks. I got no issues with what Veach/Reid did in this draft.

There's no rough ridin' way either of you two knows who tf that guy is, so just stop. Chiefs have done a fantastic job of finding diamonds late in the draft in past years you downgrade.

Just pointing out what KC has done right on the draft.
Going into this year...
1)we got an all pro in 3rd Rd in 3 of previous 7 years.
2) 2 great late round players in past 4 drafts
3) traded up/down 3x and got franchise type players
