I never even knew Smileys were a thing.
Why would you force children to eat faces?
You know what really takes fries (tots included) to the next level? Truffle. Can honestly say I've never had truffle fries.

Fries with truffle oil and garlic aioli from Little Apple Brewery. That's an elite fry.
HOT TAKE: Joe's KC overseasons their fries.

The duck fat truffle fries that station used to have
I hate fries with breading on them.
Wait, what is an example of a breaded fry?Like spangles I assume.
I'm really confused about this breading stuffI think they must be referring to fries that have spent multiple trips through the fryer and have that perfect crunchy outside/soft middle, because there is no way that restaurants are egg washing and flour dredging raw potato sticks before dropping them in to the fryer.
Steak and Shake and Freddy’s fries are amazing but Freddy’s is superior because of fry sauce.

Yeah, I must have been thinking of somewhere else. I haven't been to Steak and Shake in a long time. I agree on the quality of fries and fry sauce though.

My word people. I mean, I knew the gE crowd was pretty white, I just didn’t realize they were so white to be afraid of some salt+seasoning on their fries.

had no idea Gordon Biersch was a SF thing because they have been making garlic fries since I was old enough to pound their gross beer.
Gordon Biersch Brewery is an American brewery founded by Dan Gordon and Dean Biersch. Gordon, a graduate from the five-year brewing engineering program at Weihenstephan, Germany, and Biersch opened their first brewery restaurant in Palo Alto, California in July 1988. In 1999, the restaurants were sold to what ultimately became CraftWorks Restaurants & Breweries.
*I legitimately didn't know they started here
but garlic fries are an option in pretty much every burger restaurant out here

What are they like? I've never encountered them, but I think I would like them.
listen catastrophe, we like the seasoning. they just put too much of it on the fries.
do you think it's possible for anything to ever be overseasoned?
And i like shoestring fries, but i think that's exclusively because most places that offer shoestring fries offer them with chili and/or cheese

Of course it’s possible to overseason something. I’m just legit surprised by the stance on Joe’s fries. It never even occurred to me that other people might feel that way about them.

they're just fries tossed in minced garlic and usually parsley. the garlic soaks up the oil and it's really good.

The fries I had at pretty much any place in Brussels and Amsterdam blew the starch off American fries, it was humiliating.Mayo on fries is disgusting.

I do not like tiny fries. it's too much work to eat them.
tiny fries for tiny men
Can we talk about the fries (and the food in general) at the Hi-Lo for a minute? They have the best crinkle fries I've ever had.

I really love crinkle cut fries places that honor the "extra crispy" order. You get some places that meet that request with either ignorance, or disdain.
Never been to nor had a desire to go to Raising Cane's. My takeaway from this thread is they suck. Can I get a better experience by throwing some Tyson chicken tenders into the Fry Daddy?
my first experience w/ cane's was bad but i've been many times since and it's not a bad place. very good coating to chicken ratio and while a spicy version would be nice, their regular tenders dipped in gates hot & spicy are good.
also, if you're complaining about chicken tenders being bland, you should take a look in the mirror and ask yourself why you're complaining about a food that's most popular with 5 year olds is bland.
i was more than a little disappointed when i learned that they do not actually have any raisins.I think they fry the chicken in raisin oil.

i stopped by gates on main st yesterday for lunch and always order my fries extra crispy from them, rarely do they come that way though.
but yesterday they were great. i also got a combo and a half (brisket and turkey) to go along with my crispy fries.
There’s a chicken finger chain down here called Layne’s that started in College Station. Their chicken and fries taste exactly like Raising Canes but Aggies will get butthurt if you don’t say Layne’s is better.
