Looking for suggestions for Mechanical keyboards, doesn't necessarily have to be pretty, looking for suggestions as my wireless keyboard and mouse have worn out and now i'm looking at investing in a mechanical keyboard.
So those of you that may have one please tell me the ins and outs of what I need to know before I get one, or maybe even suggestions. Thanks everyone! :emawkid:

Yeah but its for my own personal work at my house not in an office or anything. I'm in it more for the shortcut keys, pretty much cutting my keyboard shortcut time in half.

They're awesome, typing on one right now at work. I essentially use this (but mine doesn't have a numpad, I am left handed to numpads never feel right to me):

It's a joy to type on, and that company also has more gaming oriented ones if that is your preference.

Also, I would recommend the cherry brown over the cherry blue buttons, the blue is super loud. Brown is a more muted but great response (at least for me).

I absolutely love typing on a loud keyboard. There is just nothing better. I probably should get one of these things.
-
It's crazy loud in a room full of programmers.
-
Yeah the loudness is great but what about getting crumbs and stuff down in there and then the keys won't push down?

if the XO found one of those in your squid bunk you'd be swabbing the deck in the screw room for weeks
