1) I physically can't bring myself to root against my cats. No matter how much I said would not like Deanwolf or Barry sweet chocolate brown, i really really like them and want them to do well.
2) I still hate tf out of oscar and would cut one of his toes or fingers off if given the oppy.
-
I am in complete agreement. I also really like Cartier.

Yes to that. Also, I used to be unable to skip watching the game. I can now miss a few. I bet my royals watching this summer is the same
-
1. I just learned that I’ve been incorrectly using our head basketball coaches name wrong.
2. I like others used to not be able to miss a game, I was out playing golf today during our game.
3. I agree with the OP’s first and second statements.

I've learned that, despite my prior misgivings, [you] is actually (probably) a pretty decent person, and perhaps even poster.

I feel so much better. Might have to celebrate after I finish celebrating getting in the tournament without having to sweat it and playing in the Big 12 tournament with no pressure on us. Just go and play loose and see how it turns out.
-
I learned that the good basketball discussion takes place on KSO.
-
I like this team and the players. Dean and Barry are both pretty good at basketball.

Maybe but I have been impressed with the information about our tournament chances on this site. I visit a lot of other Big 12 sites and the information I saw here on quadrant wins and losses was better than what I have seen on other sites.

True. There are a lot of people out there that are pretty dumb about the new quadrant game system.
-
it's super easy to root against kstate. i like most of the players too, and it didn't even matter at all.
-
Third time was not the charm for whisker biscuits.
-
i learned that oscar is going to be around a long time and i don't like it. i don't like our team that much but i am very bandwagon and will change my mind with a sweet 16, maybe round of 32 if we have a good showing vs a good team.
-
I misread thread titles...
-
ok yeah i did that kind of wrong but not going to delete it

I've learned that John Currie was not the catalyst for my dislike of KSU hoops over the past few years. Or if he was, the situation is irredeemable now. I just can't root for the basketcats with oscar steering the ship. I made an honest attempt to start over once JC hit the bricks, but I found myself rooting for the other team to win whenever the game would get close. I really just rough ridin' hate the guy and wish he'd never darken the doorstep of Bramlage Coliseum ever again. It's a weird feeling, I've never hated a coach so much that I literally can't root for my squad anymore, but that's for sure what's going on right now.
-
I can’t root for a team when I hate the coach.

Cross-post Signs goEMAW is Affecting Your Life you two.

How to make butter.
-
I'm a "t-shirt" fan. Perhaps the only in K-State history. I care even when I try not to. I'll always root for us no matter what.

It's scary how often you refer to me by my username in a statement.
But yes, I'm an average ok guy, fitness trainer in Kansas City. I get too emotional with my reactions at times, but think I'm above average in knowledge of things in CBB.
Sorry that I hate your Hawks with a passion

I want them all to die in a plane crash after they fail to win a round of 64 game again
-
I've learned that I will never get tired of reading threads in the basketball forum filled with posts from folks who want to make sure everyone knows they don't care about basketball anymore.

exact same thing, except i don't hate weber. i kinda like him, but i still want kstate to lose.

I've learned that #Life is clinically depressed

You really need to have your mommy check your posts before you hit the Post button. Maybe she can get help for you.
-
Most posters here are bus chasers at best, but it's heartening they are trying to blow it up except for a few. Kind of hard to find any Cat glee.
-
And I've learned something, too. I've learned that a flawless profile, a perfect body, the right clothes, and a great car can get you far in America, almost to the top, but it can't get you everything
-
Third time was not the charm for whisker biscuits.
is he a kougz sock?
I learned that the good basketball discussion takes place on KSO.
take your insightful hoops commentary there, the net hoops iq of this place will rise by 100+ points
I guess what i’m trying to clue you in on is that you’re a raging rough ridin' downgrade who adds absolutely nothing to the discussion here and despite me telling you this you’re too dumb to recognize it
-
Some good thoughts to get this board back on track, clams. Let’s keep brainstorming.

It's hard to root for the cats in this environment, guys!

I learned that I don't know very much about coding here on the board . . .
I also came to the conclusion that I can still cheer on the basketball team despite my contempt for oscar. (but my pessimism tells me we won't make it to the first weekend in the tournament)

Took me a while to figure out Spracne's code...impressive.

Judging - I still got it. Looking at you, djamer.

It's amazing. Is there anything I'm not better than you at?? Wow.
(Answer: nope!)
-
I learned that I actually can go an entire season without watching a K-State MBB game. I learned that our new AD is a spineless placeholder who will do nothing to upset the status quo. I learned that our basketball program will be the epitome of mediocrity so long as oscar Weber is here. Finally, I learned that there really is no end in sight.
-
Some of you guys are a trip.

Nihilism isn't the right tack here. It's way more fun to root for the other team. Sys will give you pointers on how to enjoy this new way of watching K-State basketball if you ask him nicely.

-
Some of you guys are a trip.
They're. Trying. Too. Hard.
-

They were cool a few years ago. Now they are finding themselves on the wrong side of the trend but are going to hang on as long as they can
And if they are really KSU basketball fans, they are missing out on some players that are fun to watch.

Did Wacky just accuse others of trying too hard on a message board? Christ.
Also, lots of complaining that this message board isn't very fun because of all the anti-Bruceites like myself, but I've got to say, we let you get on with cheering for oscar and the Cats without being judgy little c*nts about it. We may disagree with your conclusions, but we don't shame you for them. If you're not careful this place will become GPC. A diversity of opinions is a good thing. What would a message board be without a few dissenters?
-
this season has already been a success, can't wait for the offseason

Yeah, this isn't true. #LIFE would like Tyler Dreiling and myself dead. Anyone who's pored an ounce of optimism over the years has been called the problem with this fanbase, etc. That's fine if you want to burn it down and all, but to say you haven't watched a single game and still take the effort out of your day to post about it on a K-state message board is funny in all kinds of ways. And by you, i'm not saying you, i'm saying brown poster Purpleoil. Most of the BID'rs have ran to hibernation until this team fails and then they'll be back out in full force.
-

Bingo.
-
Also, we have some very super likable players on this squad. What a waste of time to crap on them because your coach talks funny.
-
Wacky, you seem to find a way to feel attacked at the slightest opportunity. Dissenting views aren't ad hominem attacks. Granted, #LIFE actually attacks you, but he's a shitty low-medium poster that no one pays attention to. You only encourage him by giving him the attention he is looking for.

Yeah, I mean, #LIFE is a psychopath. I'm not sure he's a #BIDer as much as he is a completely unhinged monster. Purpleoil may not be a great poster, but this was a thread for introspection, if you start going in on other dudes for being honest, then you'll get less honesty. I don't think that's what anybody wants here. And, hell, maybe I don't pay enough attention, but I haven't really gotten the vibe that #BID blames the average oscar supporter for oscar. It seems like that's above your pay grade. Everybody deals with oscar in their own way, and he's been a polarizing figure everywhere he's been, so I think it's perfectly fine to party rock when oscar wins if you're the kind of dude who can find some joy in that. You do you, homie. But, I also don't think it's "trying too hard" for those of us who can't enjoy oscar to find ways to stay engaged with Cats basketball. I fact, I think it's admirable.
-
8mp is way better at saying what I'm trying to say with like ten percent of the words I need to convey myself. I think it's because he's way smarter than I am.
-
All fair points. My apologies. Carry on, friends.
-
:combofan:
-
I will agree with Wacky that we have some very likable players. Some of the best we’ve had in several years. I separate them out from my major dislike of oscar.
-
yeah i love Brown, Wade, and Diarra is hot af in those lavenders.
-
Guys. What's the anti-oscar feelings on Chris Lowery?
-
I've learned that #LIFE is a flipping fruitcake looking at any bball board just to tell everyone how much he wants people dead. :bwpopcorn:
I have also learned that this is the most bipolar fanbase in the world. But hey thats just alright with me. :ksu: :ksu: :ksu: :ksu:
-
#life has always been a stupid racist piece of crap, it's troubling that anyone would care at all about what he thinks
-
life is a good poster. or pipe is, i can't keep them straight. whichever one is the one that posts the quotes from those two old scout guys, he's good.
-
Guys. What's the anti-oscar feelings on Chris Lowery?
why is it so hard for him to find decent post players?
