We should have a much clearer picture by this point last week. I'm pretty excited to see how things shape up. The games have been all over the map.

1) if we lost to Tcu, beat Baylor - We are 4 seed vs Tcu or Ou (OU would be 5 if they and Tcu are 9-9).
If we beat Tcu, lost to Baylor- then it's a 4 vs OU/Baylor
2) if we beat Tcu & Baylor - Still likely a 4 seed. Ou is almost certain to be the 5. There is a chance Tech or WV could lose last 2 games, then we would be a 3.
3) Lose both games- we could be a 5 or 6

Got my ticket for session 2 on Thursday. KU fans really do drive up the price on those damn things. Tickets went up $10 per ticket over night on stubhub.

Notre Dame was Top 5, aTm was top 7 early in the season.
OU and Asu were top 5 in January.
aTm 8, OU 9, Asu 9, ND 10 in their Conf Tourney.

Ok, if you have a ticket for the OU-Ostate game, do you get to stay for the Texas-Iowa State game on Wed night? Got tix for $5, so would not be devastated for only getting to see one game, but both of those matchups look to be good games. 3 of those 4 teams have NCAA tourney hopes, so expect to see good game(s).

Ames and Des Moines public schools are traditionally put of school the Friday before spring break which is always the first week of the NCAA tournament, so the Friday of the conference tournament is a day off. It's been this way all six years I've lived here.

If they lose in quarters or semis in KC, team like Duke could take that last 1 seed.
If it's a very minor grade 1 MCL injury, Doke probably won't be much under 100% by next Sat/Sun when they play in 2nd Rd. Really depends on how minor of a sprain this is.

In honor of the big 12 tournament my thoughts on big 12 teams as eating establishments.
1. Kansas = Joe's Kansas City
Best BBQ in town. Long lines to get your food, but it's usually worth it. Unfortunately, it doesn't always beat BBQ from other regions.
2. Texas Tech = Stroud's
The Red Raiders being really good at basketball feels like eating really good fried chicken in a barbecue town.

I imagine this is where Bob Huggins eats all of his meals.

The Horned Frogs love the sound of a train horn. They would probably get a kick out of seeing their food delivered on mini-trains.

i'm excited for tcu today. they pulled together a solid season with their late surge in the big 12 and it's fun to see a team with such a poor bball history finally experience a little success. obviously, i'm all in with the cows in the second game. they put together a really solid season and in my opinion already deserve an ncaa bid, another win today should convince even the most biased bracketologist. hopefully tech can win the 3rd and send texas into purgatory. i don't believe they've earned a bid and would be happy to see them spurned. tech is also the funnest big 12 team to watch and it's always nice to see virtue rewarded. i don't have a clear cut rooting interest in the final game. i imagine i'll end up a mountaineer, but it'll probably be a mid-game decision.

FAN may have to confirm this, but I think we have held 9 of our last 14 opponents to 1.02 PPP or less. 6 of those have been under 1.00 PPP. And the Ku/Baylor home games and at Osu weren't necessarily bad (about 1.06-1.07). At WV, at OU were not good.

He isn't too skinny for that he's done it plenty of times. He isn't strong enough to bang with Kendrich Williams, the ugliest, grossest, college basketball player OAT, but he doesn't need to bang when he catches the ball with his back to the basket. When he has a bigger guy on him he usually either tries a quick move around or he will catch then face up. He was doing a good job of this until he got called for the offensive foul when he hooked Noi, then he completely stopped trying to get the ball with his back to the basket.

All I have heard so far was "foot injury" and "stress fracture." Even a stress fracture doesn't necessarily limit how you can use it, but it is something you would try to avoid aggravating if you can.

Ok, yea. There is always something on the line, and it would be nice to have a Big 12 tourney championship. My comment was relative to the discussion about Dean playing and whether our guys would feel any more pressure than they did the last couple times we played KU. I don't think that will be the case, but I could be wrong about how they view this game.
