Title: New Coleman as OC Thread
Post by: kearneymen on January 30, 2018, 06:46:05 AM
I thought I would start a new thread to discuss Coleman as the Cat's new OC.  I am super excited for him.  Does any one know what changes he may or may not be included to make?  I looked back at his KSU playing days and we were pretty run heavy until the 1993 season and Chad May chucked it around a little more (ran the ball 54% and threw the ball 46% of the time in 1993).  In the NFL Coleman played under Bobby Ross and Bill Cowher and his OC was Ralph Friedgen in SD... I don't think you can gather much from that.

Any thoughts?  I love how fired up he gets on the sideline, I hope that translates to a team with more urgency on offense. At times it felt like we lulled ourselves to sleep and just went through the motions of calling the same plays we normally called.

Well, we know we will go for it on fourth down more frequently (TCU 2015).

I personally don't think things will change much.  It is Snyder's offense.  And that is a good thing.

I'm happy for Andre.  I've always found him to be a well spoken individual, and he has natural feel for the ryhthm of the game.

Andre Rison mentioned his relationship with Coleman during Hunters transfer.
If Hunter was leaving MSU primarily due to playing time, I would imagine the family would have had some reassurance Coleman will throw the ball.

I personally don't see us going to a pro-style offense, but probably more RPO similar to OU under Stoops.

I think the Rison transfer is about the ability to return kicks
