-Somehow he recruits.
-Shows passion after failing before coming here.
-Currie put him in an awkward situation knowing he has nothing but to lose in this community if you're not the the previous bball coach
-Won't get PI'd by this fan base.
-Legit acts like he wants to prove something. Fights for his guys and his job, because he cares.
-Visits his players to see what he could do to help vs the other crap.....
-
he's one of the greatest of all time when it comes to coaching another coach's players
-
His players are fearless vs KU.
-
He's not immortal.
-
Won't tolerate marijuana smoking
-
He haunts Bill Self and KU fans.
-
I've enjoyed how closely we've played the hawks in Lawerence of late.
-
Better than Wooly!!
-
Better than Wooly!!
Same number of tournament wins and one fewer victory in Lawrence than wooly
-
He’s a very generous person and always passes blame to his players instead of keeping it all to himself.
-
He always keeps me thinking we might make the tournament instead of being out of it early.
-
I like how much he seems to care during games. It's quite literally the one and only thing I like about him, but hey, at least there is something!

Wrong!

Yeah it's a nice change of pace from the last guy

No. No change, still good though!
-
I like that he got Frank's dudes a 'ship
-

this is actually a really good one. i also like he has the totally butthurt little bro syndrome thing down pat with self. it's perfect for us/me/our fanbase.

https://kansascity.relaymedia.com/amp/sports/spt-columns-blogs/campus-corner/article315991/K-State%E2%80%99s-Weber-has-taken-heat-and-thrived.html
This is the best pro Weber article ever. Read it and you can dislike him, but not hate him.
The article was at the end of his first season and before the tourney. It said that he could endear himself to Cat fans by doing good in the tournament. Did not go well. It says his challenge is to sustain success. The argument among fans is how is success defined. Most of us want more than mediocrity.
I think he can coach. It is fun right now because we are winning
We have a clean program. Good kids who graduate.
But I am a greedy glutton who wants it all. Championships. Beat the hell out of Haaaaaawkers. Elite eight often. I am skeptical about Oscar getting to gluttony. He doesn't embarrass us.
-
I like how he gets outside of the areas he's supposed to be on the court
-
He Only has 1 NCAA tourney win
But 51% winning clip in conference & 1 conference title are way better than the 3 stooges that were here from 91-06'.
-
What a great consequence he was to KSU.
-
I like he is a loser sack of crap. Much like wacky. His woman is going to be very easy to please once she leaves his sorry ass
-
He’s a very generous person and always passes blame to his players instead of keeping it all to himself.

It appears to me that what he cares about is saving his own ass. Not saying that most don’t, but hard to respect a coach so willing to throw his own players under the bus with any loss just to try and save his own face.

Can’t think of one thing I like about him.
Losing to Lasalle, in KC, watching him with folded arms as he fluttered his uvula, as Angel went hurriedly down the court, and got a very poor look for tying shot, well that’s just something I won’t ever forget.

I like your zeal

huggins and martin blamed the players all the time. some of you guys are edgetards being edgetards.
i dont like oscar when he's losing. i like him when he's winning. he's winning now, he's gonna win next year, he's gonna get an extension, and then he's gonna win some more. keep whining bitches.
-
So I left the site for years up until a comment a few weeks ago. How the f*ck did he get the name oscar? And the only thing I like is how his voice always sounds like he's yelled too hard and lost 90% of it, because it makes it harder to understand his bullshit complaining and him blaming everyone but, himself!
-

I didn’t say I liked them, either. And I’m not a guy, phucktard. (Hmmm. There goes any street cred I might have had...)

I should also say, to be fair, that while I’m not a fan of hugg’s and frank’s personalities, per se, I did find it easier to have some measure of respect for them both in the way their teams played and produced (especially now). I just really struggle to find that same kind of respect for BW - wait. I can’t find it. Even though he’s winning. And it’s not because he runs a clean program - I actually like that (there. That’s my one thing...I guess). I just don’t like HIM, winning or not.

I like when his teams are good. I like that he has recruited some really likeable players.
I like that he is funny and weird. <<<----- I like this less, and he is less funny and weird when KSU sucks.
-
No redeeming qualities.
-
i also enjoyed the tech road game last year, where barry flailed at the rim, got hammered, and oscar stood, mouth agape, and then got a t to seal the loss. that was fun.

This.
-
I like how his offenses appear to flow smoothly and limit bad shots. I like shooting lots of 3s. I like the alley-oops. I like how he recruits guards that can shoot and are pretty good at handling the ball. On defense, I like how we seem to be agressive about trying to steal the ball.
-

it really is all about winning and losing. in 12-13 i remember thinking it was refreshing how open and honest he was in post-game interviews. it's that same quality that annoys the crap out of me after losses.
-

damn, life. wacky is an idiot, but could we be a little less personal?
-
The Oscarcoaster. How dull would it be to have expectations filled every game/year. Oscar keeps it fresh. Maybe you wrote the season off as a turd, and then BANG the Cats know off a couple top-20 teams. Maybe you thought the team was ready for a better than average season, and then it turns to crap. Trae and the Okies, no chance? Tulsa -- no problemo -- right? You get the drift -- Oscarcoaster.

Stop bringing up that loser who lost today. Yeesh. Easy thread to get.

I was being serious. He has more wins than the last guy now
-
Not sure if serious, but will take. Cats!
-
more wins the last 6 seasons. after this season and next year, the margin is going to be even wider.
underwood's not doing so hot either
oscar
-
I like winning a lot and we are currently doing that so oscar can do whatever he wants and I’m good. This is essentially my stance on every coach in every sport unless we had a paterno type scandal.

Idiots don't out kick their coverage on a city to live in while they work 4 jobs to get by. I do appreciate your support however.

Just asking, grow up you little pussy.

His name rhymes with goose, the mother of rhymes.
-
I like his rosy cheeks
like my grammy after half a glass of red wine
-
He's really strange and awkward, but seems to sort of understand he's strange and awkward.
Our offense is a lot more aesthetically pleasing to watch than it used to be and when we have really good games that can be fun to watch.
When we are playing good his awkwardness makes people kind of assume maybe he's some sort of awkward basketball savant and that can be kind of fun to think about.
The player likability thing.
The getting outside of the coaching area thing.
-
He hired Chester Frazier.
-
His skin looks gross, but that's not one of the good things.

If he lets the guys tunnel dance tonight I'm going to be dangerously close to liking oscar
-
I like that he really seems to enjoy being a basketball coach. Seems like he coaches an offensive system that is bound to fail approximately two out of every three years, which means his teams largely are mediocre or bad in those years. I think he has a lot of trouble maintaining an entire roster of Big XII caliber players. I think his constant blame shifting onto the players is a large reason for that. He constantly puts his foot in his mouth, and it makes the university look bad. I hate how rough ridin' weird and awkward he is, it's probably my least favorite thing about him. He also gets no respect from the referees whatsoever, which would be funny to watch if he weren't our coach. BUT, despite all the things he has going against him, that dude still really seems to enjoy what he does. Contrary to what quite a few people think, I'm not sure he's just collecting a paycheck, I think he legitimately believes that he's good at what he does and wants to keep doing it for a long time.
-

I think you’re right. Of course, this does not make me like him, nor do I find it - in the grand scheme - a good thing, because what it really means is that he LACKS INSIGHT.
Which I can’t respect.

My absolute, 100% most favorite thing about oscar is that he is not immortal.
I hope.
I also like that he does not have any sons.

He's not immortal.
