Unfortunately it's  not starting until 2020 so he's got basically no shot at being ambulatory by then

Inaugural USFL game right down the road.

All 40 games are here.

Playoffs start in Canton, OH - Seems like a wise PR move.

I just saw that. Seems pretty weird to have teams from cities, that never get to play in said cities. Not a great start for the league.

USFL opens up tomorrow with one game and then three on Sunday (combination of Fox, FS1, Peacock and USA for TV).

In addition to Justin Hughes playing for Michigan, Abdul Beecham made the roster for the Pittsburgh team.

The Gamblers only have 21 players and 6 receivers listed on their offensive roster, do Zuber should play quite a bit.

They had a great crowd last night. I'm not sure what Jim is expecting from a team called Michigan and another called Houston playing in Birmingham, Alabama on Easter afternoon. When you think about it, it's pretty stunning that the attendance isn't exactly zero.

It never made sense to me to have all these teams from different states, playing in some neutral site. Felt like a bad idea from the get go.

@mir, I agree, just trolling Dax.
Title: Re: XFL
Post by: Institutional Control on April 17, 2022, 04:21:33 PM
It’s not a neutral site for the Birmingham. Go Stallions!

I guess the league saves a ton on travel and leasing multiple stadiums and is saying it’s basically all about the TV money.  I mean, two networks carried the Saturday night game. Weird.

They have two stadiums and they are cheap relative to an NFL city.

Legion Field is a dump though.

Protective Stadium is pretty nice.

It sure looked like there were more fans than that on Saturday night. FOX, who owns the league, aren't worried at all about attendance, they knew no one would come to these games. They are looking for TV numbers only. They want to average 2 million a game, which seems very optimistic to me.

Fun time.   Certain personalities would have hated it.   But for us normal people it was fun.

45 yard line, 3 full service bars within 30 steps.   Game mechanics/production were top notch.   Good selection of domestics and micros.   No well garbage liquor, all top shelves.

UAB has themselves a great facility given what that program has been through.

Nope....Wacky. I thought I remembered him discussing his in-law's/coworker's/friend's beach house (or something). I thought it funny he loved being a couple miles away, but acted like AL is a slum compared to the cosmopolitan KC metro.

I tend to feel that most places are typically the same now. For the majority of them, it's the same Target, Best Buy, Starbucks, fusion restaurant, too-cool night life, slums, new-rich and old-rich. Rinse and repeat.

I never said I liked it. I said I was going there for Thanksgiving with my family because my bro had a place. It’s very basic. WackyTowny historically completely losses his crap about every self perceived slight of Kansas City.

Calling any other place nice, fun or mentioning that another place has a good sports teams sends WackyTowny into an apoplectic rage.

He’s had some fantastic rage fests about this both on here and on Twitter.

I’m in KC right now, just flew in to help my parents.   I gotta say, my skirt is blown up way high with all the excitement that abounds.    The PV cops had somebody pulled over at 11pm and everything was closed.

Vegas, NYC, South Beach, Tokyo, Ibiza, South Kensington-London, just to name a few, and of course KC.  All the same, virtually indistinguishable.

Saw Todd Haley in the BHAM airport, we had a good laugh about how bad he sucks, but he raved about BHAM.  Not at all looking forward to going back to the Rust Belt.

WackyTowny really struggles with gE’ing as well.  Never seems to get it.

You also get a good feel for what wacky is like to hang out with by this recent Royals take.  The Royals have a poverty TV network and now wacks claims to want nothing to do with them.   This walks hand in hand with what wacky is probably like on road trips.  Just an insufferable stick in the mud.

BTW a d lineman from Anniston flipped from GA to Bama over the weekend.
