IT'S HAPPENING

Vince really wants to loose $100mm+ again?
-
Hopefully some former cats get a shot
-
I bet you they will stand and respect the flag!
-
im all in, i hope they get to change their names again

#1 overall draft pick: Johnny Football
Unfortunately it's not starting until 2020 so he's got basically no shot at being ambulatory by then
-
And McMahon said no players with any criminal records.

Best time to start up a league. If he learns from his mistakes this could actually be successful.
-
It will be a massive failure but I'll get a laugh for a year or two
-
With him being a wrestling promoter, I assume today's talk about what sort of players will be allowed is kayfabe and that there'll be an "invasion" by Kaep, et al.
-

Yup
-
Maybe he will hire Kaep, but have a couple of guys dressed like Sgt. Slaughter holding him up during the anthem.

Man, it really did learn from it's failures IMO but goddamn covid killed it, though it hopefully is back next year

Inaugural USFL game right down the road.
All 40 games are here.
Playoffs start in Canton, OH - Seems like a wise PR move.
-
I just saw that. Seems pretty weird to have teams from cities, that never get to play in said cities. Not a great start for the league.

USFL respects and loves the cats! :emawkid:
-
Sucks, he was starting for the Pats in 2020, but it was a Covid year.
-
USFL opens up tomorrow with one game and then three on Sunday (combination of Fox, FS1, Peacock and USA for TV).
In addition to Justin Hughes playing for Michigan, Abdul Beecham made the roster for the Pittsburgh team.
-
The Gamblers only have 21 players and 6 receivers listed on their offensive roster, do Zuber should play quite a bit.
-
Weird. Birmingham, Alabama shitting the bed!

Alabama seems like a bad place for something like that. I can't see anyone giving a crap about yet another minor league football team in the state

They had a great crowd last night. I'm not sure what Jim is expecting from a team called Michigan and another called Houston playing in Birmingham, Alabama on Easter afternoon. When you think about it, it's pretty stunning that the attendance isn't exactly zero.
-
I was watching this crap for like 5 minutes this afternoon and thought "what the eff are you doing?" then turned it to the Red Sox.
-

It never made sense to me to have all these teams from different states, playing in some neutral site. Felt like a bad idea from the get go.
@mir, I agree, just trolling Dax.
-
It’s not a neutral site for the Birmingham. Go Stallions!
I guess the league saves a ton on travel and leasing multiple stadiums and is saying it’s basically all about the TV money. I mean, two networks carried the Saturday night game. Weird.

They have two stadiums and they are cheap relative to an NFL city.
Legion Field is a dump though.
Protective Stadium is pretty nice.

It sure looked like there were more fans than that on Saturday night. FOX, who owns the league, aren't worried at all about attendance, they knew no one would come to these games. They are looking for TV numbers only. They want to average 2 million a game, which seems very optimistic to me.

The USFL’s Pittsburgh Maulers eat salad, not pizza. Team cuts player for disrespecting team via salad refusal.

I’ll be there Saturday night.

I was just coming to post this, the stupidest crap I've ever seen. I hate football guy so much, there isn't anyone so self important and sanctimonious in all of sports, for the second least dignified sport, only behind human male genitals fighting.

Hopefully he wanted Slice, Post Office Pies or one from Pies and Pints.
-
17,500 tickets sold for last Saturday night, 30K in attendance, under 15 gets in free, so that's why there were so many kids. Which is pretty cool.

Does KU personnel run the box office there?

Oh, good one WackyTowny
That's just one side of the stadium

Good ol WackyTowny

classic

Fun time. Certain personalities would have hated it. But for us normal people it was fun.
45 yard line, 3 full service bars within 30 steps. Game mechanics/production were top notch. Good selection of domestics and micros. No well garbage liquor, all top shelves.
UAB has themselves a great facility given what that program has been through.
6.5/7
-
Isaiah Zuber was prolific for the Gamblers. Had a TD catch on a deep in and several nice kick returns.

A fun crowd last night. About a typical Royals Sunday 80 degree late May sized crowd.

OMG, the stands! :frown:

I admit, it looks like a Royals home game. :frown:
-
-
Allegedly 12,000 at the Royals game yesterday. Seems :blank:
-
I haven't given a crap about the Royals ever since they teemed up with Bally. Keep trying, bud.
-
So let me get this straight, KC based WackyTowny no longer cares about his hometown Royals because he's a bandwagon fan (like most KC professional sports fans/KC based KU basketball fans)
But a game between the Philadelphia Stars and the Michigan Panthers is supposed to draw massive interest in Birmingham, AL??

-
I don't care because they made a shitty TV deal and mushed a large portion of their fanbase by doing it. They'll survive.
Not so much for this clown show league in Alabama tho, that everyone has already forgotten about. T's & P's.

My 11 year old son is really into the USFL and watches their games when we're home.

You were just on here FanningBraggin about big time MLB in KC a few weeks back and now you don’t give a crap because of the Royals poverty TV coverage.
I just expected more from KC FanMan aka the WackyTowny
#fairweatherKCfan
-
There is definitely more to offer in KC in terms of entertainment vs shitty Alabama, that’s for sure!

Art. Everywhere.

Remember being all excited about Perdido Key? Ever drive/boat a few miles west?
-
You talkin to me?
-
Nope....Wacky. I thought I remembered him discussing his in-law's/coworker's/friend's beach house (or something). I thought it funny he loved being a couple miles away, but acted like AL is a slum compared to the cosmopolitan KC metro.
I tend to feel that most places are typically the same now. For the majority of them, it's the same Target, Best Buy, Starbucks, fusion restaurant, too-cool night life, slums, new-rich and old-rich. Rinse and repeat.

I never said I liked it. I said I was going there for Thanksgiving with my family because my bro had a place. It’s very basic. Dax has a history of acting like whatever new place he lives at, is elite AF and always taking cracks at KC because a scorned ex lover. I enjoy calling him out on it. He needs constant validation.
-
He likes to call the Midwest the cracker belt if that tells you anything you need to know about him.
-
WackyTowny historically completely losses his crap about every self perceived slight of Kansas City.
Calling any other place nice, fun or mentioning that another place has a good sports teams sends WackyTowny into an apoplectic rage.
He’s had some fantastic rage fests about this both on here and on Twitter.
I’m in KC right now, just flew in to help my parents. I gotta say, my skirt is blown up way high with all the excitement that abounds. The PV cops had somebody pulled over at 11pm and everything was closed.
Vegas, NYC, South Beach, Tokyo, Ibiza, South Kensington-London, just to name a few, and of course KC. All the same, virtually indistinguishable.
Saw Todd Haley in the BHAM airport, we had a good laugh about how bad he sucks, but he raved about BHAM. Not at all looking forward to going back to the Rust Belt.
WackyTowny really struggles with gE’ing as well. Never seems to get it.
You also get a good feel for what wacky is like to hang out with by this recent Royals take. The Royals have a poverty TV network and now wacks claims to want nothing to do with them. This walks hand in hand with what wacky is probably like on road trips. Just an insufferable stick in the mud.
-
It’s a rare credit to the people of alabama that they’ve joined the rest of america in not caring about that football.

On Al.com it made it to 3rd or 4th behind 3 Auburn and Alabama recruiting stories at one point yesterday.
BTW a d lineman from Anniston flipped from GA to Bama over the weekend.
Auburn got a good running back.

XFL starts again this weekend...
So far, three Cats playing - Beecham (Orlando), Briley Moore & McCrane (D.C.)

Why do they keep trying this crap, has to be a money laundering thing.

I'll be at the game at the alamodome!

rough ridin' blew it at the end but was fun!

Glad it was! Seems a lot of these first games have been fun/competitive and dramatic which is exactly what a new(ish) league needs to bring attention
