That tonight is the Championship between two SEC teams. I'll probably knock off some of those honey-do's and play with the kids.

I had completely forgot
-
I didn't forget, but I also was not aware, and I also won't watch
-
Well damn, I was going to watch Grambling and Alcorn State hoops tonight. Maybe i'll flip over during half time.
-
This thread reminded me to check in on who from gE is still struggling through the bachelor franchise shows.
-
Is this some kind of exhibition game? I thought UCF already won the natty. :dunno:
Looking back at the 1910 championship team, Harvard beat 1 Div-1 team: Army (who also lost to Navy that year). However, K-State beat otherwise-undefeated Arkansas (who had wins over Texas A&M and LSU)! I think the loss to Colorado College should be redacted due to them counting a win vs Colorado Springs High (which is clearly cheating).
-
I have a fortune riding on this game.

I really dislike arie

I'm at a really good part of a book where they cut each others heads off with swords and stuff.
-
It's too late for me to salvage this tonight, but I'm gonna need someone back there to hook up a slingbox or give me a login to their cable that will let me watch east coast abc live by next Monday.
-
I wish I could watch every game with the coaches film room version.

i loved the OU game, dana was getting so annoyed with sweaty gary
-
Kirby Smart has a guy holding him back???
-
This game may be more boring than the LSU vs Alabama game a few years back. It's as stupid a match up as Michigan vs Ohio State or USC vs UCLA or Texas vs Oklahoma. Great for a conference game, but not for a MNC.
-
I'm enjoying this game. The talent level and speed on the field is impressive. Its not like Bama and Georgia are lining up in the I formation and trying to pound it. They both are running no huddle, spread offenses. The defenses are just winning more battles.
-
Has the student become the teacher? Another half will tell.

I've been impressed with Georgia. They should probably be leading by more.
-
I have a fairly legit rooting interest in this game so I am probably biased, but I am having a blast. Also I love UGA's bespectacled kicker
-
Bama needs to run the CK O - WRs have not won many battles
-
I wish I could watch every game with the coaches film room version.
I'm watching the c.f. that is the ESPN Voices channel

Pretty decent squad. OU shouldn't hang their heads.

Gundy actually looks like he's wearing one of those halloween mullet wigs

If I was an OU fan I'd be ticked, they should have won that game.
-
Saban had panicked two years in a row: Sending Kiffin home last year and benching that QB this year

Yup, agreed

ou would have destroyed either of these teams.

Absolutely. I just meant its not a loss they should be embarrassed about. Georgia is legit. Losing to Iowa state is embarrassing.
-
@ksu_FAN1 what is "cross country?"
-
W. T. F.?
-
embarrassing that one of those teams will represent us in the world championships.
-
Alabama had a true freshman at QB, the receiver who caught the game winning TD, and the left 2/5 of the O line.
-
@ksu_FAN1 what is "cross country?"
A crossing route or out. Seemed to describe any route that went lateral. That's a new one for me too.
What a great game. Saban is the best college football coach ever in my mind.
-
I bet he gets 10 natl titles.

College football overtimes are very boring.

They are incredibly tense and are far from boring. Also a way more equitable system than NFL. Lololololol @ thinking cfb playoffs are boring

I'm not endorsing NFL overtime. But I do think it's better. Mostly because the team that has the ball first in college is almost always too conservative.
-
It's definitely not better and LOL @ you for not being there in the flesh at that 4OT thriller against Texas A&M because it was rough ridin' insane

I don't ever know if I have ever seen a team do this, disregarding OU going way too conservative last week. College kickers or defenses aren't reliable enough to do this as an effective strategy.

Yet they still do it.
I'm exaggerating, of course, but the play calling is often super conservative

I couldn't enjoy it because I was convinced the entire time we'd lose; when it was over I was relieved, not happy.

Odd to bring that up here when three of the five OT plays with a QB were pass plays.
-
Nothing more conservative than throwing a giant, long bomb to the end zone the very play after getting sacked to make it 2nd and 23. Especially when a field goal would've sufficed to take it to a 2nd OT. Supes conservo

Oh I didn't watch because I figured it would be boring. Flipped over to the Dubs game in time to see Steph drain a 35 footer.

It was awesome and lollerz @ anyone who changes the channel when overtime starts

I saw the highlight

I felt the exact opposite. Mostly because we were down and had to come back in the game just to force OT. I'm not saying I felt like we won, especially after A&M converted that 4th down in the in the 3rd OT, but because CK had taken the first play from scrimmage that OT in for a TD I felt like once we forced the 4th OT, we had it won. We absolutely drained their defense.

Lol true fact. CFB OT >>> NFL OT. At least NFL changed it to where if the first team only scores a FG, the other team still has a shot. It was laughable that beforehand essentially whoever won a stupid coin toss essentially won the game. I always like that CFB allows each team equal chance. I also disagree that most of OT is trying to position the ball for a FG, that only happens if the first team didn't score like at all and the second team has carte blanche to do that. Every team the first possession of the OT is trying to get a TD. It's exciting to see if they can, and if they do, it's exciting to see if the other team can match it. Getting into the 3OT or more is even better w/ the forced 2PT conversion.

Didn't they have a double digit lead for most of the fourth quarter?

Yeah I think the three in question made it 12 or 14 in the third. Went from five to fourteen on three straight threes

What if we threw out the standard football regulation and replace it with a best 4 out of 7 overtime periods? Would that make football more exciting?
-
didn't watch a single play or highlight...don't feel like I missed anything either.

Good question! Also eliminate field goal extra points from the start

Should cut the regulation time and just start the game with OT rules
-
Tua had some stones last night. I kinda find his throwing motion insane. Like he uses his whole body really quickly. He must be crazy skinny. Hard to tell sometimes with the pads.

That 7 OT Ole Miss-Ark game with Eli Manning was amaze for these reasons.

I like the concept but I find it hard to watch. Just too much guys talking over each other, and David Cutcliffe seemed to dominate the conversation. I realize that is what you are going to get when you throw six head coaches in a room.
-
I like when they start bitching about their own players not listening to them

Somebody needs to inform them that KSU has a claim to the 1910 national title. Harvard only went 8-0-1 while KSU went 10-1 and outscored our opponents 336-28. Also beat the pig-aggies that year five to zip.
-
No one needs to know about the 1910 Pittsburgh Panthers :surprised:

Still won more games than them. #feelsgood
-
We really need to hang that banner. It’s a travesty we’ve never properly honored the fightin’ aggies of 1910.
-
is there anything more boss than hanging a natty title banner over 100 years after the fact? can't think of anything that would top it.
