Watching Christmas Vacation and realizing I’ve already had this convo with at least a dozen people. So what’s your top 5 Christmas movies? And by that I mean the ones you would be most disappointed about if you didn’t see them this Christmas.

Christmas Story
Christmas Vacation
Home Alone (1 and 2)
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Cartoon, though the Jim Carrey one would get an honorable mention)

I do also enjoy White Christmas, Elf, The Santa Clause, and Jingle All the Way, but they are kinda in a 2nd tier compared to the top 5 there.

Have never seen Love Actually, actually. Nor the family stone or w/e. I don't really consider It's A Wonderful Life to be a Christmas movie because the instance of Christmas is not essential to the plot, unlike Home Alone, which is a Christmas movie that would be uninspiring were it not entwined with the celebration of the alleged birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

in home alone, christmas only serves as A) a plot device to keep the family from being able to return quickly, due to busy holiday travel, and B) a reason for 20th century fox to open the movie right before Christmas 1990 and clear over $500 million on an $18 million budget

Spracne is losing his mind. Sad!

Although Rotten Tomatoes places the action thriller at #7 on its list of the 25 Best Christmas Movies Of All Time, and the UK film magazine Empire has argued that it's "the greatest Christmas movie ever made," the majority of Americans (56%) do not consider Die Hard a Christmas movie, according to a recent poll conducted by YouGov Omnibus. Only one in five (19%) members of the public do.

https://today.yougov.com/news/2017/12/20/most-americans-agree-die-hard-not-christmas-movie/

So you and that drama queen who started a thread to show how smart he thinks he is and then threw a tantrum like a little bitch and abandoned it can stick that in your pipes and smoke it like a bowl full of jelly.

Rick Daris and I were discussing this once a long time ago, and that's how good Love Actually is.  I remember that I first went and saw it in the theater as one of those "OK, it's her turn to pick the movie so try and not be a dick about this" times. I was honestly blown away on how good it was.  And not in some sort of like overtly awesome way, but in a good old fashioned heart felt way. I dare you to watch that movie and not cry, and yet feel good about it.
