Public Service Announcement: My new Keurig is a piece of crap, don’t buy one. I had a single cup Keurig for a couple years. Little guy ran like a champ and produced GREAT coffee. I decided to get a bigger one, and got the newer Keurig 575, and didn’t read any reviews on it...just assumed it would be great. Well, it tastes like hot plastic. No matter what I tried to cleanse it (vinegar, soaps, etc) it still tasted like crap. Like terrible.
So, I bought an $80 MixPresso (half cost of the Keurig) and its wonderful. It had the best reviews on Amazon, and they were spot on.

Has anyone tried the Ninja coffee bar single cup system? It seems like it should make better coffee than a Keurig, but I’m not sure how much work it would be.

Did you smash the Keurig? If not, can you take a video of you smashing it? Maybe Office Space style.

pete, smash your appliances to own the libs
-
Probably a better idea to just sell the Keurig to some alt-right guy so he can smash it for you. Libs get owned and you get paid that way.

I had a Keurig for several years, but IMO you just can never get really good coffee from it.
Went back to a Cuisinart brew pot and am happy with the decision.

This also had nothing to do with Hannity, etc.

I ditched my Keurig a couple of years ago. It started making a grinding sound on every cup.
I run a Mr. Coffee 12-cup pot these days.

If the plastic keurig survives until next FattyFest, donate it and the right to smash it to smithereens.

What do you do if you only want one cup of coffee but your pot thing makes 12?
-
(serious question, I have v lcpiq and have never made coffee in a non kcup machine)

I make 4 minimum. a) its not that much waste b) its better coffee than a keurig cup and c) its still cheaper than a keurig cup.
I use Starbucks ground coffee FWIW.

Just use less water and less coffee.

The Keurig machine we had in our field office was boss, wish I remember which version it was.
I do look forward to Pete's Keurig's imminent destruction

If you are a regular coffee drinker, you cannot beat something like _fan's old fashioned drip brewing. We broke down and got a Keurig because we only occasionally drink decaf now and we wanted something for guests who need the real stuff. We got the $80 model and so far have been pleased.

Although if you are a :kstategrad: coffee drinker, you could always get one of those $3,000 machines that grind the beans and make single cups of coffee/espresso/latte on demand.
-
I love Keurigs in general. Just the second version I bought was crap. The off brand I bought was pretty solid tho.
-
K cups are so convenient. I love them.

Kind of hoping this thing is good: https://www.spinn.com/

I very rarely drink coffee, but was tired of the wife's kuerig. Bought her a burr grinder and a french press. The coffee is so good even I'll drink it occasionally. I'll make her coffee before going to work and put it in a thermos. Stays hot all day (or until she drinks it). Thermos eliminates the need for single cup brews.
