Maybe is because they didn’t run offense against the ‘roos, but they look like they suck real bad?No doubt. Only up by 27 with six minutes left when all the starters had to be pulled due to their sucky performance. Glad we had a high bb IQ poster to notice that.

I initially read this as “three worst” and didn’t really think much of it
This thread is going to be full of sad people after the next week or so.
You don't have to be #TeamBruce to root for your alumni. :th_twocents:
People who stick sharp rocks up their butt for pleasure are akin to people who want us to do badly. You have to off in the head to root against this team. You don't have to be #TeamBruce to root for your alumni. :th_twocents:
People that support and like oscar and Currie have had their alum status revoked. None of you or them GAF about K-State athletics.
You're a complete dumb eff if you believe rooting against your university for said agenda. Nobody can help you if you're this looney. You don't have to be #TeamBruce to root for your alumni. :th_twocents:

I said this to my dad, who is alumni, and _Fan has already said it, but go beat ASU and Xavier and I'll maybe start caring. These other non-conference wins against dogshit teams don't mean a thing.

i super don't. for the ymca, we're just learning to do pick and rolls and i have to go home and watch youtube vids about how the hell to get 6th graders to strut and cut. i also have a young kamau, who loves to turn it over but can also do hella cool crap sometimes. but othertimes is just like, welp, screw it, i'm gonna put up 20 3's and be totally out of control.

I'm always on board, you guys!
:ksu:
Today changes nothing. 7 home games in the next 9 will decide the fate of this season.
we'll beat ISU again, win 3 against Texas/Baylor/OSU, win 1 or 2 against the big 5. So we'll be 7-11'ish. Classic oscar year.
kearneyman, you have low expectations and our dude oscar is not meeting them. sucks for us for sure. Why are you still awake?

No, my expectations are to be above .500 in the conference, win at least one B12 tournament game and win at least 1 NCAA tournament game a year as a minimum... I am point out that when Huggs / Frank came KSU was in the cellar and we crawled out of that only to return the last several seasons as the cellar has improved and we have not.

To your point, when Huggs / Frank came on board my thought was that KSU had to consistently be better than OSU, ISU and Tech to stay out of the cellar of the B12 (realizing that Tom and Wolly had us in the cellar). Including tournament games, Frank managed to go 16-7 (70%) against these three teams. When oscar was hired and we added crummy TCU to the conference and started playing everyone twice, I thought that this would be a great deal for KSU... oscar started out well going 12-5 in the first two years, but now into year six we've fallen to 25-20. The traditional bottom has surpassed us and I don't see WVU, KU, and OU don't seem to be slowing down...

How can we be over .500 against these teams but they've passed us? That math doesn't work.

My guess is that all of the numbers mean that we are 13-15 against those teams since the first two years.

I don't know, dogg. I think we are just stagnant. With the exception of the championship year and the 8th place year we've been a middle table squad. We're no real threat to be a consistent winner but oscar will do just enough not to have wild swings like seemingly every other program not named Kansas and West Virginia. Looks like we're headed for another 6th or 7th place finish; 5th if oscar commits to making some drastic changes and they work, 8th if everything falls apart.
You can start the coaching search, Oscar is done after this season
Fellers the horse ain't dead yet. It won't win a thoroughbred race, but we can still do some plowing. We can still be Champions of the Bottom Half. That should be good enough for the tournament. Texqs, Cyclones, TCU, OkieDoakies, and KSU will fight for this coveted title. Our chances get diminished though if Kam is hurt
Sounds like some good old fashioned adversity
After a bittersweet ending to a 2006-07 season filled with adversity, K-State women’s basketball entered the 2007-08 campaign with something to prove.
Somebody tell oscar that Diarra can’t be our point guard on account of he is a walking turnover machine.

We are gonna win about 4 conference games so whatever:lol:
our 3 game winning skid does not make the season
sorry but I refuse to accept the idea that this team is good. we’ve been playing well over the past 7 days, yes. we’ve also been shooting lights out. how does this team find ways to win when the shots inevitably aren’t falling?
3 games over the next 12 days should provide them time to cool off

Man if we went 3-1 over the next 4 it would be on like donkey kong. 4-0 and I'll cream my panties.

From the Wichita Eagle "Add it all up, and K-State has been on the court for 101 minutes, 32 seconds over the span of seven days without trailing for a single moment."
Wade the National Player of the Week.
We did not cave to a team playing a zone, why?
everyone stop having funNO
everyone stop having funNO
everyone needs to calm down. we've beaten the bottom four teams and OU at home.

i know jk i'm pretty amped too, saturday-monday is going to be a lot of fun
I have finally found something I hate about ksu hoops more than oscar. Whatever this dean wolf thing is making it's way around browning up the internet. You really should just do yourself a favor and end it.
Noice my roomate bought one of his friends a 4 for 4 from Wendy's and got his ticket hahahaeveryone stop having funNO

I still have complete confidence oscar will find a way to screw everything up, it's what he does. Water seeks its level. And not a single soul cares. All your takes are crap and wrong 99% of the time. I mean, even your screen name is inaccurate.
I mean, we all know his history, but many were laughed at for being optimistic about this team this year. Sad. Real sad.
I enjoyed them. I called this would be oscar's best team so far since his first year after the first few games. There were a few signs of hope. It's just more fun now because we're playing teams with a pulse and Wade and Brown are playing lights out.

And FTR, I'd rather make the tournament this year vs getting oscar fired, because I love the tournament and cats hoops. This team won't have much next season, so let Currie run him out then.

This team is definitely fun to watch right now, but it was not earlier in the season.
If poopface can get off the 0 and win a national title he will finally match Frank in torn-a-ment wins here
so scared of getting bruced but i have officially jumped over the fence, lets go get some rings
i'm not saying my opinion will be correct but here's my assessment of where i'll be given the result:
miss tourney: fire oscar
first round loss: fire oscar
second round loss: fire oscar but i understand not firing him
sweet 16 loss: okay let's go
elite 8 loss: hell yeah oscar
final 4 loss: extend the hell out of him
champ game loss: lifetime contract

A whole year ago, before we made our run to the tourney last year? Great scooping. I thought losing Wes and DJamer would be a deal breaker at that time, I was wrong. oscar has developed his guys. I called it at the start Of the year when no one else was watching the games. Keep shooting tho, chi!
I mean, we all know his history, but many were laughed at for being optimistic about this team this year. Sad. Real sad.

This group of guys has been fun to watch improve for a couple of years. LBBIQ type folks just see W's next to ranked teams and think these guys just flipped a switch or something. sheesh.
The first half of last night's game was the most fun kstatembb this season.

Holy crap how good are we gonna be next year? I 100% believe we will win a national championship and hang a banner for oscar
He won't declare. I'm willing to bet he stays for his senior season to lead KSU to another title.Holy crap how good are we gonna be next year? I 100% believe we will win a national championship and hang a banner for oscar

Anyone know if Wesley is getting any PT this year? Forget who he was drafted by?http://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/3074797/wesley-Westicles
Willie Cauley Stein was a small town Kansas kidKind of. He played his HS ball in the city.
Willie Cauley Stein was a small town Kansas kid
Depending on Stokes role when he returns, I could seem him grad transferring if he has it as an option. I can't imagine him having the same role he did with Diarra playing so well. If he isn't ahead of schedule in graduating, I can't see him sitting a year to play a year somewhere though.I second this, unless the small ball lineup mentioned in the other thread is enacted and he starts, I could see him transferring. His depth and experience would be great for this squad but if he leaves I wont be upset.
All oscar does is recruit NBA talent. :love:whats this now?
These guys (Brown/Stokes) need to talk to Pullen because that's their pro ceiling. Its not a bad one, Pullen has done well playing overseas, but he just doesn't have the size to be an NBA player.
Honestly, Wade is probably most likely to make an NBA roster, perhaps in a role similar to what got Cartier Martin some time in the league. I don't think he's getting drafted to do that though. Plus, though my perception could be wrong, as a small town Kansas kid he seems like a guy that would come back as a senior to have a special season at K-State.

I think Dean will end up being a significantly higher prospect than Cartier was. I really think he can get a second round grade this year. If he comes back and doesn't get injured he'll get drafted higher than Bill and will likely have a better career.

I expect to win on average 1 ncaa game every year. oscar has 0 so far, so he needs to win 6 this year for him to meet my expectationsI still find it super adorable those discounting his opening round win last year. It counts, butthurt dorks.

LOL at counting getting into the round of 64 a tournament win. Typical oscar loser mentality.Totes, man! You know what's a total loser mentality? Obsessing over a coach that left us that's only going to make the tourney 1 out of 6 years at his new home. That's pretty rough ridin' losery to me, #LIFE.

it's round 0, you don't even have to pick that game in your bracket that's how insignificant it is, gmafb
the tournament consists of several rounds. They are currently named, in order of first to last:
The First Four
The First Round (the Round of 64)
The Second Round (the Round of 32)
The Regional Semi-finals (participating teams are known popularly as the "Sweet Sixteen")
The Regional Finals (participating teams are known commonly as the "Elite Eight")
The National Semi-finals (participating teams are referred to officially as the "Final Four")
The National Championship
Yes they walked into totally the same situations  Also Frank has TWICE as many tournament wins in that ONE year than oscar does in his last THIRTEEN seasons COMBINED :flush:Still has zero conference championships and he's had 6 years to make a stable program and has failed. You're the one who brings up Frank 24/7. rough ridin' get over it, dipshit.
a final four run every 5 years sounds better than making the tourney 3 out of 5 and getting bounced in the first round EV-ER-Y-TIME.Add a big 12 'ship and would take.

You can count that win, along with the NCAA and K-State. It’s still a joke that you want to give credit to a coach for barely making the tournament. Maybe do some research.anyone who counts that as a tournament win has a hard time readingI expect to win on average 1 ncaa game every year. oscar has 0 so far, so he needs to win 6 this year for him to meet my expectationsI still find it super adorable those discounting his opening round win last year. It counts, butthurt dorks.
maybe it's unfair to put so much emphasis on ncaa games (small sample size and all that) but 1 win in 11 seasons is getting to be a pretty large sample size of sucktown usa

How could he not be lasalle at the sprint center I mean my godThat team made it to the sweet 16 FWIW
I said all he does is recruit NBA talent. The NBA isn't as high on Foster as they were before, so maybe not, and Stokes went to Vegas to get evaluated last year. Like _fan said, he'll very much end up undersized like Pullen, but ppl are watching him. We've been talking about a few potential departures. Wes, Foster, Wade, and now Brown and Stokes are getting looks. I mean, wow!YES! now who exactly are you saying when you say "oscar recruits nba talent" ?Are you reading along with the thread? All oscar does is recruit NBA talent. :love:whats this now?
 counting Foster and Stokes
So they also accomplished more than oscar in the last 13 seasons? How could he not be lasalle at the sprint center I mean my godThat team made it to the sweet 16 FWIW
Is Wacky really arguing that he'd prefer a conference championship to a final 4 appearance?4 out of 6 years in the tourney with a conference championship vs 1 out of 6 years in the tourney and a fluke run to the final 4 with a bubble team? sure.
wowGood stuff per usual, kslim
loving your cats is one thing, but lets be honest here maybe and maybe is a stretch wade goes pro and thats it. if you were being facetious i could understand but we all know you are dead seriouswowGood stuff per usual, kslim
These guys (Brown/Stokes) need to talk to Pullen because that's their pro ceiling. Its not a bad one, Pullen has done well playing overseas, but he just doesn't have the size to be an NBA player.

Stokes - Agree
Brown - Not so much
:dubious:well he didnt recruit wes (that is what you said not me) wes was coming to ksu regardless and brooks sealed the deal . and wade while we all love him is most likely an overseas player, im not trying to get into an argument with you, i like the players oscar recruits for the most part but they are 98% of the time just 4 year college players and thats it.
oscar will have two active NBA Players on NBA rosters in less than 2 years. Wes and what soon will be Wade. He's recruited well. That was my point. Stop taking everything so seriously.

In that Brown can be an NBA player or has the size to be?

NBA player. I mean he's bigger than Pullen but he would still be small SG in the NBA.

I'm just not sure he shoots from the outside well enough to make it, but again, I don't watch much NBA.
Ummm. Wes was a oscar recruit. That counts man.wes was a frank recruit thats bruces staff kept onboard
nba or not the cats are playing well so the argument doesnt even matter, i just like to win at bball and that is happening now so ill enjoy it.
He never committed to him, but you're right, Frank recruited him, but Brooks sealed the deal on 9/14/12. Was highlighted in oscar's system for 4 years which helped with his position.Ummm. Wes was a oscar recruit. That counts man.wes was a frank recruit thats bruces staff kept onboard

there isn’t a chance in hell that bbj could play in the nba
way too small framed imo

Devonte Graham is currently project as a early second round draft pick, regardless of it being right or wrong. I don't think their is a valid argument argument that separates Senior Graham from Junior Brown. Thus I don't think there is validity in "no chance in hell".

I was trying to be nice. bbj will never play in the nba. he’s not good or big enough. sorry if this hurts your feelings

3pt %
Barry's 3pt % is borderline low for his career (as far as the NBA is concerned). Graham's has consistently been about 10% higher and I don't think a seven game sample this season will convince the NBA that has changed.there isn’t a chance in hell that bbj could play in the nba

3pt %
Brown has made more 2pt shots in conference than Devonte has made all year. He is shooting 15% better on twos than Graham. So that why Brown's has a higher in conference ORTG. A tag along stat that has some sample size issues is Brown is shooting better behind the arc in conference play.
i've never seen teen wolf either but i have heard of it

I spent $ on a AD rough ridin' me with the Dillions Receipt thing. You wanna talk about a KITN, that really sucked. Good thing Pitt has a badass st pattys day to make up for it. :cheers:IN. Might go wherever we play in the tourney this year.wacks loves him some mediocrity
cannot imagine spending money on a trip knowing you will watch your team lose

I know I have a problem guys, but I do enjoy the feeling of being at these games.
So far i've done: Omaha, OKC, PITT, and KC. I saw Charlotte had a slot this year. That could be something new for shits and giggles.
I will not be going to Dayton tho! eff that state!

If we do lose Saturday, we'll be 5 and 5 with OU the only away game left against the teams tied for second. Will have already played two games against the conference leader.you act like we play good at home, i see loses to osu texas wvu ou and tech
We've lost two games at home this year. To KU and WVU. :dunno:well when you are a bubble team its nice to not crap your pants against good teams at home. i think they tend to look at that. both ku are wvu are not even that good, its the same song and dance every year and its old
I mean, they're the two best teams in our conference, but ok. If you're losing home games to teams like OSU and Iowa State, then I could understand the bitching, but they haven't been doing that.yet. i dont see how you have any confidence looking at that schedule going forward, i see isu and baylor as the only games that we should win, texas at home is a toss up
There is some validity to kslim's point and we absolutely need to win out at home now. My preseason thought was go at least 7-2 at home and we're still on track for that. That's fair, but we've lost a lot of OSU, ISU, and Colorado type games in the past at home and we've yet to do that so far this year. We're losing to teams that we're underdogs against (Vegas wise).
We have 2 road wins already and I was hoping for 2-7 there. I think we might get at least 3 and maybe 4.
I don't think this is crazy.

I'm excited for Tech at home. They haven't looked that great leaving home since they won at Allen. They won a dog fight at SC that most wouldn't have. They are still an impressive team
Oh, I agree, but they also got thumped at ISU.I'm excited for Tech at home. They haven't looked that great leaving home since they won at Allen. They won a dog fight at SC that most wouldn't have. They are still an impressive team
We've lost two games at home this year. To KU and WVU. :dunno:
Texas at home doesn't scare me. I think this is how it plays out:Texas and OSU are much better than the start of big twelve play. and we historically start to fall apart about right now
@WVU- L
@Texas- L
Tech- W
OSU- W
ISU- W

We've lost two games at home this year. To KU and WVU. :dunno:
and in the games we won, we were shooting well outside of our means. this team isn’t capable of shooting like that for extended periods of time. we’ve come back to earth and this is more of who we are than the team leading the conference in 2/3 pt fg%
also our rebounding and defense

Just please stop with this. We average 75 across all games this season. Acting like 56 points against KU and Georgia was just us coming back down to earth makes you look like you know nothing about sports.

55% or better in 7/9 is a fluke, or at least is unlikely to be sustained. kstate has a very good offense, but not that good.
i didn’t say that our shooting against ku was the norm, what I have said is that we won’t continue to lead the conference
probably somewhere in the middle
We will see a different cat animal Saturday. Unlike others I have faith in Oscar Juice which yields losses for important games, but win ones no one expects us to win.West Virginia lost tonight to IOWA STATE by 16. We have hope.
The KU loss to the Anti-oscar crowd was what a raindrop on the lips of a man lost in a desert would feel like.
We obviously got some work to do, but I was putting in my PTO today for the opening weekend of the tournament like I do every year and it had me looking at locations:you may want to cancel that pto
First/Second Pittsburgh March 15 & 17---   Yes plz!

Still 4th in the Big 12 :emawkid:
I don't know how anyone can be anything but meh about this team. Like we're a permanent bubble team or slightly worse as long as oscar is here. Meh.Basically my rage about oscar left five years ago and I just don't care.
I'm resigned to another year of Oscar. Next year, will be his team, the one he pieced together after lighting a match to the program when he couldn't manage the first batch of recruits he brought on campus. It's a team with solid players at four spots, the best of whom is a once-in-a-generation small-town Kansas boy natural-fit Wildcat he lucked in to, and he's one of three bigs Oscar has brought on campus in six years who could charitably be called a P5 recruit (and one of those was only here one year because of the dread weed).
This team could be a contender next year with another big or solid small forward or both. Oscar's got to know that, and we've got a point guard in the pipeline.
I can't look where we're at and not think we'll be 3 to 4 games better next year barring a key injury to Wade, Brown or Sneed and maybe 3rd or 4th in conference. A good year but not a Texas Tech type year, either. Then it'll be rebuilding mode.
I really want to bring a coach who could bring energy to the program, chase off about four of the stiffs on the roster and plug in two or three pieces who could make 2018-19 real milestone year. That's the train I want to board.

You are giving Brown and Sneed too much credit. They are very mediocre

it’s got to feel great to have been on the oscar train from day 1. just kidding :lol:I think we should allow everyone on board the oscar train, no matter their past, so long as they (1) are heartily sorry for ever having doubted oscar; (2) firmly intend never to doubt oscar again; and (3) promise to avoid any near occasion of doubting oscar.

“Sure we beat Kentucky but they were a 5 seed” “Yea we are in the final four but we had the easiest path in the history of the tournament. “You're right, and we'll probably lose to UK anyway, but last year Gonzaga made the finals after beating a 16 seed and 8 seed (same as us so far), then a 4 seed (yay 1 seed better than UK) and then an 11 seed (we get 7 or 11 if we beat UK), and finally a 7 seed in the F4 (9 would be the worst seed we could face if we got there).

I started rooting in earnest for the cats at halftime, and after the game I've decided to start over with oscar. He's done some real shitty stuff, but this kind of win deserves a consolation from his detractors.
i'm not saying my opinion will be correct but here's my assessment of where i'll be given the result:
miss tourney: fire oscar
first round loss: fire oscar
second round loss: fire oscar but i understand not firing him
sweet 16 loss: okay let's go
elite 8 loss: hell yeah oscar
final 4 loss: extend the hell out of him
champ game loss: lifetime contract
natty: statue
