Title: BoycottTheSEC movement in the Big XII
Post by: CaliforniaLonghorn on October 16, 2017, 03:12:10 PM
Because of the illegal recruiting practices of SEC universities in Texas
Not to mention SEC's personal network biasism  towards the Big XII

A lot of Texas and Oklahoma will refuse to watch SEC football or anytype of SEC programming.

Someone needs to end SEC influence in Big XII territory.
It is us against the world it seems

I watched a bunch of the tennessee game Saturday because the KSU game didn't happen for like 3 hours after it was supposed to.

The movement should be to dome BSFS.  How many games during a KSU football season do you think "man, what perfect weather to be standing (sitting during the anthem at least) in one spot for almost 4 hours?"  September games, you get sunburnt.  November games, you get cold and wet.  Maybe one in October if you don't get electrocuted?

Over West Virgina/Texas Tech.

The issue for the Big XII is the conference needs to start preparing itself for the next TV contract.

There is a chance that in 2025 the Big XII will either adds big schools from the ACC or the Big XII breaks up.

This feels like an old Nebraska fan or aTm fan thread about the unfairness if UT’s network, and how it fucks the rest of the Big 12.

Texas is coyote ugly for most power 5 schools looking to join big 12.  It would be easier for Texas to join another conference or go independent.

The tennessee game was on the big TVs most in our view.  The coal/juggalo aggie game was on a smaller TV.  Neither was KSU so no fucks given about either really.

A dome would've solved everything.

What Texas has is the biggest attraction that other schools have to the Big XII

The conference doesn't need welfare universities

The conference needs universities who want to keep their third tier rights so they could earn more money than in the other conferences

Possibilities
USC
Clemson
Florida St
Miami
LSU

Its a nice Christmas wish list - but what would make the Big 12 attractive to any of those to pull them?

The Big XII model is like capitalism
The SEC/ BIG model is like collectivism

Capitalism because it rewards the universities who win and have the best resources will ultimately win.

For a team like let's says SC. The PAC 12 keeps USC revenue at a certain level once Texas revenue jumps to over a 30 million gap between themselves and Ohio St you will see Texas doing things that will force other universities to either leave for the Big XII or force other conferences to adjust their conference to be more like the Big XII.

I think college football is pretty disgusting for doing things like exploiting students and raking in obscene amounts of money for basically no good reason.

At the same time, if Texas people can sell the idea of a capitalist conference to another big time program or two and help the conference thrive, I'm all for it.

The Big XII is the living history of two amazing conferences Big 8/SWC.
For me that is important because half my family are CU fans and the other half UT fans.
If the Big XII falls apart so does the SWC and Big 8. This is why UT does not want to leave and for schools like K State UT and OU leaving could cause problems that never can be corrected.

That is why I have the utmost respect for CU because you never hear the garbage out of Boulder you hear out of Lincoln. They will not claim UT ran them off. CU left because it was what the state wanted but more so it was the best thing for the university. UNL, Mizzou and Aggy ran away from their history so they could get more money. They blamed UT as a scapegoat. The truth was the Big XII even with a conference network could not give either university the same amount as the other conferences. They need someone to blame.

I live in Tulsa and have not heard of this SEC Boycott. ??

I agree with the Colorado bit. TaM probably wishes they were back in the Big XII because not being in makes them a bit irrelevant in TX. Aggies imo always strive to want to feel relevant. They really arent.

Going to the SEC has clearly worked out for Misseri.

Then I guess you should pass the word around

The Big XII is the conference of outlaws.
The conference that won't bend over for anyone.
The Big XII needs this mantra when they play out of conference.
Study the history of Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. You will see nothing but outlaws who did things their own way.
No one is going to destroy the Big XII except the schools within the conference if they allow the current narrative outside of the conference to be considered the truth.
