The clear bag rule sucks.

Agreed, especially now that if you're having metal detectors.

Feeding is. Pumping is not.

Agreed. Metal detectors make the clear bags redundant and unnecessary. Guess KSU needs them to make sure we're not smuggling in food or an extra water bottle. Incredible.

I think the clear bag rule is a conference rule,  and the metal detectors are a Kansas State thing.

That's pretty outrageous. How did the security people not at least radio someone over?

Do they have a lactation room in the stadium? They absolutely should if they don't.

Sure do, on the west side, gate b just like sdk sis says.

This whole thing is pretty ridiculous. Some student had no clue what a breast pump was, and this woman, instead of demanding a supervisor, went home and posted a Facebook post. 2017.

The woman was a volunteer concession worker who had woke up at 4:30am, how someone at the gate couldn't call a supervisor on their own is beyond me. If I have an issue where someone says they are a concession worker and they have brought something in before and there is enough of a discussion to suggest that she needs to transfer it to a bag, I am calling a supervisor over to make sure everything is on the level.

If K-State wants to pump out their chest with #FAMILY, then be ready to have some tears over spilled milk.

  fantastic

These student workers are dipshits, I'm certain I wouldn't have known what a breast pump was before I had to know, it just looks like a backpack, frankly they look like some kind of backpack bomb. Last year a student worker made my kids throw away their junior wildcat bags because he thought they didn't conform to the clear bag policy, I mean they have a junior wildcat club logo on the damn bag. Anyway I don't want to victim blame too much, even though I'm doing just that, but this woman could have advocated for herself if she wanted to. She has to know that some people have no idea what that bag is used for.

If breast feeding and milk pumping isn't a big deal, why the humiliation from a clear bag? Snowflakes are everywhere.

When I am upset about being humiliated, the first thing I think to do is post publicly about my humiliating experience.

Seriously though, there will be no public backlash from this. Like MIR said, people understand that there are students working the gates who just want to collect a paycheck and not get fired. You’re there and you’ve got time to spare, just ask to speak to someone who understands the actual rules instead of someone who probably stares at a big poster as they’re clocking in that says “clear plastic bags ONLY.”

Look, even if you get in the stadium with the pump, it isn't like the accommodations are that great.  I am just saying it would be nice if the #FAMILY actually reflected some material benefits for bringing families to games.  I don't do it because my kids and I don't have the patience for it, but also because my wife does not care about football at all. That said, I know that there are lots of things K-State could do to be more #FAMILY friendly. Some would require some significant investments, others would be easy.

I hate feeling like I'm arguing with kat kid, I'm a bad person. I don't feel that way at all, both of my kids have grown up going to those games, my eight year old has missed 3 games in 9 seasons. I have never been to another sporting venue with a lactation room, as a matter of fact the only places I've ever been that has one is Modern Maternity and Babies-r-Us. The only thing missing is a playground and I know that's in the plans with the south side renovation.

I absolutely see a lot of families and I don't know how you/they do it. I am saying we could do better. The lactation room could be better as I know several people who have complained about it (I obviously haven't seen it myself).  I just generally think that we could make some really minor improvements that would go a long way toward making it more accessible to people with kids.

What things
Title: Re: Milky nipple shields
Post by: Kat Kid on October 17, 2017, 08:35:19 AM
What things

more/nicer family restrooms/feeding/pumping rooms, playground, more training for staff on how to prevent NippleGate 2, scheduled Willie appearances (end of 1st Quarter catch Willie at the ________), more/varied concession options for kids (apples/carrots/cheese sticks/milks) or even a dedicated concession stand for kids.

I realize a lot of those would require an investment of money, but not all of them.

The family restroom thing pisses me off, so many individuals use those things, not just college students either. Nearly every time I try to take my girls to one some 55 year old woman comes ambling out of one. If you've ever used a family restroom without kids you are unquestionably a bad person.
