Crappy game yesterday, but Delton was a bright spot. Glad to see him healthy, and predict that he will get some meaningful snaps each game from here on out.

im not sure if you looked at our schedule but him playing much if at all is very doubtful unless he has to.
also we have a delton thread

 do you do these things intentionally or are you a full on parody poster like fsd and erii?

It makes sense. We tried to do it last year with Delton, and actually did so in ISU game. Nine games in nine weeks, Ertz injury prone, and the importance of our QB run equals Delton gets snaps.

Okay, you're predicting an injury, that's much different than a prediction of a two quarterback system.

I wasn't meaning to predict an injury to Ertz. I'm saying that giving Delton a series or two (where we run the Sams/Klien '11 offense) would take some wear and tear off Ertz. It isn't a two QB system....just taking advantage of what Delton can do for us. I honestly expect to see it. I think it would be great.

this won't happen, and probably shouldn't happen. Only if J-Sisco is hurt or can no longer run the offense should he come out. Even with him being visibly banged up, he had 95 yards rushing, and averaged 7.9 yards an attempt. honestly it's crazy what he's been able to do.

I agree with that; our QB run game is so damn good. I don't think anybody does it better.

Mondays...amirite?

-
Is The Iowan injured?
-
Delton looked very fast on his runs
-
Delton looked very fast on his runs
But can he throw? :dunno:
-
Delton looks good in what he does. I just think he must not do anything else well. Plus, waiting for blocks to develop can result in just as much yardage as exploding through a hole.
-
Delton was playing against a team that had already been defeated, but he did look very good out there.
-
I was at the game and watched the QB’s warming up. Both Delton and Skylar were throwing darts and had some zip on the ball, Jesse not so much.
He trippin' so much, fans gonna begin to think he done fell off!
-
The last thing our receivers need is more zip on the ball.
-
No joke. Sisco probably working on his technique to get some completions.
-
Plus, waiting for blocks to develop can result in just as much yardage as exploding through a hole.
I thought he did that. :dunno:
-
Sisco threw the ball with zip, you see what you want to see.
-
What if Delton gets the start this week? Heard it from me first...
He trippin' so much, fans gonna begin to think he done fell off!
-
Then most likely we are mumped.
-
reminds me of the time we worked Texas only throwing 4 passes the entire game.
-
Jesse didn't practice much this week.
-
Sounds like we've probably just given up on our receivers catching any passes. They've probably only been practicing run blocking this week.
Not a terrible idea.
-
Will we see more wishbone?
-
I wouldn't mind a triple option offense with the pieces we got.
-

the game will then look very similar to texas 2010
-
radio says ertz is hurt and delton will play
-
If Delton has a 2010 caliber Texas game I'll be very pleased
-
Ertz will start but is dinged up. Will split snaps with Delton.
He trippin' so much, fans gonna begin to think he done fell off!
-
Skylar better be the qb if ertz is hurt. Delton can't throw the rough ridin' ball
-
Delton can throw. He just is more likely than our other QBs to throw the ball to the Texas D.
-
If we air it out with an injured ertz I will cry
-
I'm concerned Texas's defensive coordinator will realize we are running the QB draw when Delton is in.
-
If we air it out with an injured ertz I will cry
C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT
Jesse Ertz 11/16 218 13.6 2 0
hope you had your hanky on hand
-
Crap, they figured it out.

IN DELTON WE TRUST

We may not even beat KU with Delton at the helm.

As soon as Delton messes up, everyone will be clamoring for Thompson.

Give him time fan. Thompson is very young and has seen minimal snaps in real games that actually matter.

FTR I am already on team Sky. I think they're just going to run the Hubener offense with Delton. I don't expect much success.
-
I don't really care about which of the two QBs except that the staff, including the HC, don't do to him or them like they've done to both Ertz and CK - let him/them stay in a game long after they should have been benched because they're too beat to s*it.
If I were Ertz's father, I'd seriously consider having a sit down with LCHCBS and the OC and asking "WTF were you thinking? My son is supposed to have a future that doesn't involve a knee or shoulder replacement by the time he's 30 or a walker by the time he's 50" and don't give me that "he signed up for it" BS. He signed up for an education not abuse.
Starting Ertz and in particular allowing him back in the game was both stupid (not dumb but stupid) and puts us on par with those schools (NU anyone) that just chew up their athletes and spit them out when their done with them.
-
:jerk:
-
Ertz's body. Ertz's choice.
-
Listen Coach Snyder, you didn't say anything about my boy being tackled when we signed up for this education.
-

No and you missed my point like Helen Keller. What he was not told was that his son would get abused and that's what it was. Plain and simple. You want to talk about team and family, then you don't send one of your own into a game knowing that he's hurt the point of being detrimental to the team and that your offense puts him in the position of aggravating an already existing medical condition.
and if the players are being allowed to say when they go back in when they're injured, then the inmates are truly running the asylum and this entire staff needs to be gone. If for no other reason than the protection of the school.
-
:flush:
-
Ertz had a season ending injury after his first snap as a KSU cat. I think he is well aware of the risks and how much he wants to put his body through.

This made me laugh irl.

Luckily, Snyder has been working on his delts.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171013/cfff8d8ba98b3877f166f32984b07d3b.jpg)

Stanbot on 810 this afternoon said his first start he played crazy good in his first start at QB, and think Delton could play out of his mind against TCU (good out of his mind play).
-
We should just keep throwing different QBs in there to keep the first start charm going.
-
Ertz had a season ending injury after his first snap as a KSU cat. I think he is well aware of the risks and how much he wants to put his body through.
Yeah. Everyone forgets this part. Hilarious, sad, and true.

Yeah, a real rough ridin' knee slapper. It also wasn't his first snap or his first game, everyone forgets that part.
-
putting a proven fragile qb in this offense...I'm just happy with what we've gotten from him to now.

Yeah, well I said AFTER his first snap. So...SNAP!

Delton's arm looking strong itg
-

If only K-State can make him grow an additional 5 more inches onto his height. I believe it was 4 tipped passes today in the first half.
-
Solid first half. Some really nice throws.
-
When he gets some space to throw, he throws darts. He's just kinda awkward back there at times.
-
Delton looking good overall so far but I’m really concerned about his condition after that hit.
-
Our offense is a lot of fun to watch when we have a QB like Delton running it.

I agree. Glad we finally made the switch.
-
Sounds like Concussed. #purplehays is #purplehazed. The #skyisthelimit show now.
-
These announcers seem so clueless. They’re acting like we put Sky in to take advantage of receiving matchups.

Sky BADLY missed on the first down RPO. Then a drop.
This season just continues.

Well, we did keep playing Delton after he got hit in the first half.

yeah but still it's pretty hilarious that they can't figure it out

Yep. He at least needs to go through an entire week with the first team. I expect timing will be an issue otherwise.
-
The detectives in this announcing crew are starting to piece this together.
-
Can Pringle catch with his hands? Or does he have to use his body to catch the ball nowadays

meow meow thinks the coaches bear no responsibility for the Delton and Sisco injuries

Announced starter for TCU
-
gonna suck when we lose to him in manhattan this year

An analyst that was a guest on 810 radio said that Patterson would likely only start Delton 2 - 3 games until his other QB's got up to speed. Is he actually going to pass further/more accurately at TCU than he did for the Qatz?
-
no
-
He won't take as many big hits at TCU. That will probably improve his accuracy somewhat.
-
Better coaching and surrounding players will do amazing things for a qb
-
He looked pretty good at throwing in that bowl game, if I remember correctly. So maybe they found out a way to have him do that some more.

Patterson has done pretty well with dual-threat guys.
-
I'm really excited to see Delton with Patterson and Thompson with Kleiman. It could give us the clearest examples of how mismanaged that position has been under Snyder.
-
Man. And we're going against Zuber at Mississippi State. Our old friends are our new enemeeeze. :frown:
-
those guys are still our buds
-
Delton didn’t seem to play a great game. 0 TD’s and splitting snaps. 10/22 passing. 67 yds rushing. TCU has 6 FG’s so far in this game.

-
is it normal to lose your 2nd and 3rd string qbs on the same day?
-
He would have been so much happier at UTEP.
-
Possibly brain damaged, but happy
-
I hate to say the obvious, but most of the players that leave this beautiful place are losers and don't get much field time.
-
You're such a dumbass
-
That's an extremely back look, KATDADDY!
