Title: Pringle, Shelley and Risner
Post by: SteelCat on September 09, 2017, 12:56:39 PM
Where are these 3?  Risner started but not playing.  Did Shelley get benched for Parker and is Pringle hurt?

Other than the one PI, Parker has gone pretty unnoticed.  Which is a good thing.

I'll add to Lucas Scoopsalot's post since this screenshot mentions Risner as well:

No, he was limping on the sideline.

I always feel bad for linemen. Their knees and ankles are going to be so messed up twenty years down the road. Hope he heals completely.

I was listening to Stan & Wyatt during the game when I saw Risner limping.  He ended up going into the locker room according to them.  Hopefully he is okay.

Risner's tweet yesterday wasn't especially encouraging:

"Everything happens for a Reason..
Nothing occurs by Chance...
It's all apart of gods divine Plan...
Trust it and go where he leads You."

Hopefully a low ankle sprain is what happened for a reason, and that reason is so some trainer can get really good at taping in time for Vandy.

I watched the Risner play several times.  The part that has me worried is it was non-contact.  He came off his first block looking to make a second.  He pushed on the second guy and turned to the sidelines and started to come off the field...the camera moved away just as he started to move so i couldn't see if he was limping.  It looked like he might have injured his hand/arm based off the way he was holding it, and the fact that it seemed to be the only thing that had a chance of being hurt as it was the only appendage to make contact with anyone.  If it's below the waist, it'd guess it's bad since it was non-contact.

I saw the same thing. The play before that it looked like he might have had his ankle rolled up on a little bit. But I saw what you saw on the next play, hard to tell what happened.

As i was typing the last post i begin to wonder if the injury happened on the play before the one he came out.  So i re-watched and sure enough it did.  He got rolled up on by the guy tacking Dimel.  Now i would have no idea what it was.  It didn't look good on the replay.

The fact that Risner stayed in for another play is probably bad news.  if were an ankle, he probably would have come right out AND he would likely have been noticeably limping on the next play.  Staying in for one more play makes me think it's an ACL, very similar to Jerry's two years ago where he tried to stay in after the injury.

On a side note, are the knee braces he wears for hyper-extension protection only?
