Anything outside the "3 PT arc" is worth 3 points and anything on or inside is 2 points.
-
Well, they will prolly still have Reid Najvar still listed as starting center half way through the season, if that tells you anything.
-

Sisco is the only senior on the offensive 2 deep and he should be a junior :horrorsurprise:
-
neat.
-
Personally, I'm a little surprised that goolsby is starting as the other safety. A lot of the talk that I heard indicated that it was more between Walker and McPhereson.

yeah, if we wouldn't have given him that god damn rough ridin' scout team player of the year award, and had coaches and players talk about him during bowl press conferences he'd be coming back next year.

My guy making an appearance as backup FB :emawkid:
-
Our starting front 7 is very white. :dunno: (just an observation)
-
I was very high on all three of our backup LB's (Sullivan, Patton, Hughes) when they signed and none of the starters :Yuck:

Hughes and Sullivan I'm sure will see plenty of the field, they are only sophomores. Even if it means only 2 years of starting as Jrs and Srs I'll take it. Patton I'm sure will see plenty as well. The chart next year will be Patton-Sizelove-Hughes/Sullivan anyways. We'll be weak at LB to start this year but I think it'll be an embarrassment of riches by the end.

Outside of the starters, looking a little thin @ CB

oh so now you know next year's depth chart, great

Isn't this always the case for everyone? That isn't a position where you see backups playing many meaningful snaps, at all.
-
sean newlan must've really fallen off or brogan barry must've really come on.
-
way to go, drew wiley.

That's fair. Still didn't expect to see Goolsby.
-
I think we'll be fine at LB. Those guys have all shown the speed to be excellent in kickoff coverage and I like that they are giants compared to past guys like 5'7.5" Slaughter and Truman.
-
Bigger/better than Truman!

Maybe by height, by like a few inches? Slaughter is 5'10 227 and Truman is 5'11 218.
I'll give you speed.

No joke, I guess the rumors were true. Not a ton of depth there either

I think they're looking to replace Barnett's ability to get players in the right position more than raw ability. I'm not sure they view Adams in that role, at least not compared to Goolsby.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Walker be the first player to ascend on the depth chart if the defense isn't lining up right.

So, you're saying that the guy that's been a safety for less than a year is the guy on the defense that's supposed to get everyone lined up, instead of the guy that's been starting at safety for 2 years, and played the position all throughout his college career? Not really buying that.
I think that it's simply that Goolsby has shown enough, and has been in the playbook longer than Walker. I do agree with your premise that Walker will be in that spot quickly if Goolsby doesn't play assignment sound. Hopefully Walker is all caught up by conference play.
