To play this game you have to be honest about your age
I was born in 1983 so this would be 1993
Baseball: Ken Griffey Jr. The kid. Backwards hat, bubble gum, guest star on Fresh Prince, he was the man.
Runners up: George Brett, Kirby Puckett, David Justice, David Cone, Lenny Dykstra, Carlos Baerga, Brian McCrae
Dead effing last place: Ozzie Smith,
Football: Joe Montana. The QB with the Hollywood last name
Runners up: Derrick Thomas, Neil Smith, Barry Sanders, oscar Smith, Jerry Rice, Kevin Greene
Dead effing last place: Emmitt Smith, John Elway
Hoops: Jordan. It was 1993
Runners up: Shaq, Pippen, Mullen, and basically the entire 1992 dream team. Also Adonis Jordan. Yeah I said it.
Dead effing last place: Melvin Booker
Hockey: I think I knew who Gretzky was
Other: The Dan and Dave decathlon guys,
-
10 in '92, tbh I didn't really pay attention to sports until '93 chiefs/cats. So this answer is probably george brett, the only athlete I think I was even aware of at the time.
-
10 in '99
does it have to be professional? you didn't say that so i'm assuming not
Football: Michael Bishop
Basketball: MJ
Baseball: Mark McGwire
Hockey: Gretzky
Soccer: Alexi Lalas
-
I was 10 in '99
Only cared about baseball. Chipper Jones, Shawn Green, Dave Roberts, Bobby Bonilla, Kevin Brown.
-
10 yrs old in 1998.
Football: Derrick Thomas, met him and got several items autographed around this time.
Basketball: Space Jam was 2 years old, so Michael Jordan like the rest of the universe.
Baseball: ??? Had a Frank Thomas poster on my wall from Book Fair. Braves were on TV. So Maddux, Jones x2
-
10 years old in 1984 :cyclist:
Baseball: entire 1984 Cubs roster, George Brett, Dan Quisenberry, Don Mattingly, Dale Murphy
Football - Tony Dorsett, Walter Payton, Jim McMahon

Hockey - Gretzky was in Sports Illustrated all the time, don't remember many games being on TV
-
does it have to be professional?
nope
-
10 in '98.
Baseball: For sure McGwire, though I came to regret it. Smoltz/Glavine/Maddux/Andruw/Chipper Jones cause ATL was so hot in the 90's. Griffey was always like the Dr. Pepper #3 choice after McGwire and Sosa in backyard HR derby.
Football: Still wasn't a cat fan yet, and I pretty much didn't care about NFL, so I didn't really have one.
Hockey: Even though I'd call myself a Red Wings fan, Dominic Hasek v Roy was still a few years off, so I'll go with Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr were who me and friend played as all the time on NHL 97/98, so I'll go with them.
Basketball: Jordan 23, I mean come on.
-

I was born in 1987 so this would be 1997
Baseball: Sammy Sosa. Slammin' Sammy. Enormous hat, home-run hop, the hand signals, WGN games after school, he was the man.
Runners up: Mark Grace, Brian McCrae, Johnny Damon, Jermaine Dye, Kevin Appier, Mike Macfarlane
Football: Pete Stoyanovich (for President)
Runners up: Tamarick Vanover, Marc Macmillan, Derrick Thomas, Rich Gannon, Marcus Allen, James Hasty, Dale Carter

My oldest current piece of clothing is a Dallas Cowboys Pro Line sweatshirt that I bought from a Ballard's clearance rack in 1993.

I bet ballard's was really happy to see that trash leave their clearance rack.

These disparaging remarks don't hurt me either.

Well you and Stan Weber and TownieCat can just have a pow wow Cowboys party in that case _FAN. You guys can all dress up in your pro line sweats and just talk about Jimmy Johnson and Thanksgiving and live happily ever after.

The original Barkley's were the worst shoe ever made. They gave my entire JR High Basketball team blisters. They also weight approximately 1600 pounds.

I also loved LJ as a hornet but then I hated him with the Knicks because Zo went to the heat and the heat hated the knicks.

We had the life-size cardboard cutout of this in our KSU apartment. I was a merchandiser at a sneaker store before KSU so we had all sorts of store display stuff. We put it right behind our front door and new people would come in and the door would close behind them and they'd sometimes freak out.
