It's Trump. All he has to do is tell everyone how beta the other GOP'ers were to his every whim. He can make them all come off as super weaklings that bend to the powers in Washington and don't have their own backbone. Yeah, I think something like 20% of Republicans (at best) are not hardcore maga. So a reasonable candidate would need 3 or 4 MAGAs to be in the race and split votes. And then if there are 2 reasonable candidates, they will have no chance at all. The best (sort of) non-MAGA candidate with any chance at all is Ted Cruz, and he is worse than Trump.
