Title: Is KU basketball as disgusting as Baylor Football?
Post by: Stevesie60 on March 15, 2017, 04:23:48 PM
As more details emerge about the Josh Jackson situation, they seem more and more comparable. My inside sources say more will come out (about more players, this year and previous) soon. Sad that we have to share a state with them.

It pains me to say this, but it might be time for the Big 12 to put them on probation, just like they did with Baylor.

The crimes are different, but they are still violent. The institutional victim-blaming is exactly the same. Both institutions are doing whatever it takes to be good at sports, to the detriment of the safety and welfare of other people. Institutionally, I really don't see how KU is any better than Baylor. If anything, they are worse, since Baylor actually acknowledged the problem and fired people.

Speaking of KU basketball, what ever became of the case involving the rape of a 16 year old runaway in the men's basketball dorm last year?  It surfaced at an awkward time for KU, and somehow became invisible.

Baylor actually acknowledged the problem and fired people.

Baylor and their fans have done no such thing. Incredible public pressure is the only reason Art Briles was fired, and even though it was obvious that just about every assistant coach either had knowledge, or a hand in the rape factory known as Baylor, they were allowed to remain on another year in hopes that either Art Briles could come back, or they could continue the program on their own.

Kansas BB is dirty, deserves NCAA sanctions, and several of the players could be in jail, but they are no where near the level of despicable that the Baylor AD has reached.
