Extremely slow paced team and offensively they are okay shooting and only average from behind the arc. A major difference from Baylor is they don't turn it over at all and though they are very good oboarding, they aren't nearly as dominant on the glass. Very similar defensive profile to Baylor as well, except they like to force TOs.

i don't really see them as a 6 seed unless you look only at their 29-5 record. when you look inside those 29 wins, you see a bunch of mongloid rubes who can't dribble the basketball down the court because their helmets get in the way.

k-state has played much better teams leading up to this game and have a higher upside than uc when they play well

uc's AD is a squawk who played football and baseball in lawrentucky and we all know how much ku athletes love to rape and beat their fair share of woman from time to time

Cronin did came up in coaching under Huggs, then under Pitino at Louisville, then as a head coach at Murray State. I've always been a fan of how his teams play.

I'm anxious to see how good their defense really is. Every game against SMU (by far the best team they've played) they gave up 1.10 ppp or more. They managed to score with them at home, but their road/neutral offense/shooting is pretty poor.

Jacob Evans. A taller guard, he's kind of their version of Westicles. It should be a fun match up to watch.

Those 7 games vs KenPom and RPI Top 50 (SMU 3x, at Butler, at Iowa St, Xavier, Rhode Island)....Only the clones had a poor performance offensively (54 pts in about 62 Poss). The other 6 games, Cincy D was bad enough to allow the 1.11 PPP for all 7 games)

The 9 games vs KenPom 51-100 were all teams that didn't make the tourney(pretty sure anyway). They clearly had more success in those 9 games, but the competition wasn't as good

SMU was the best defensive team Cincy played. I think I've read that SMU really does a good job on help D and not allowing many easy 2pt shots. In the 3 games they played, 50.0% of Cincy's shot were 3s. 1 game they shot 32 3pt and 17 2pt. The Bearcats made 33% of the 82 3pt they attempted, but hit under 40% of the 2PTA

I think they feel pretty confident with that 29-5 record. I feel somewhat confident that they have only made 42% from 2pt & 30% from 3pt in their 10 games away from home (vs top 100). Our D has its ups and downs, but the 1.03 PPP we gave up in our last 8 R/N Big12 games is at least a tad better than average.

They lost to SMU by 9 & 15. And only put up 0.83 PPP in a 53-49 loss to UCF. That's their 3 toughest R/N games the past 6 weeks.

The Bearcats "superior" offense...clearly an indication this guy has no idea what's going on.

However blustery the Bearcat message boards are about their prospects, I do generally agree that they are a better version of us. But not that much better and without a clear go to guy in crunch time -- however, I see Evans becoming this guy more and more, and Caupain is never scared in late game situations. We've got to be hitting jumpers -- I don't see Dean handling this matchup well, so Kamau and Barry stroking it is super important. We've played a more rugged schedule, I hope that experience puts us over the top.

Whenever a tuck tries to convince me that oscar is "a good man" I'm always quick to let them know that oscar is by far a worse person than he is a basketball coach. They don't really ever defend him on that point, so I'm not sure why so many of them say it in the first place.

Ha. I hadn't seen this. I'm beginning to think oscar may be one of those unlikable guys that people say, "well, his family says he's a good guy" as some pseudo-justification for his douchey-ness.
