How is our johnson?  Healed? Limp? Soaking in ice? Broken? In a cast?  KSUgreg have you seen the johnson? This is a big.deal.  We need our big johnson.  No DJamer no tourney.  Any scoops?

In my mind tonight is a must win. I know that's been said before, but all those close losses eventually bring it to this. You've got to get home wins and quality wins and tonight does both. Next Wednesday is the same. oscar's job may be riding on it.

playing "must wins" to meet the bare minimum of expectations with 6 games to go in the season.  this is what we've become.

Yes. That's what I thought this year would be from the start though. I thought we'd be about .500 in the league and make it in, so being on the bubble isn't a surprise to me.

We have these every year which show "improvement" but it hasn't amounted to much.  I'm just being realistic based on #bigdata.

To answer your question tho I thought we would win

i didn't even think we'd be on the bubble but that doesn't make us any better than we are, just makes me a dumbass

looking at it from a statistical perspective, are seasons like this, in oscar's 5th year, his median?  i think they are.  so then what are the standard deviations from the median? on the low end, last year's 5-13, no ncaa.  high end 14-4, 1st round loss?

Probably about right for a 2/3 of the time NCAA guy.

At Illinois in 09 (his 6th year) he tied for 2nd in the Big 10, got a 5 seed, lost in the first round. Last year was probably his low point at K-State, similar to his Illinois lows in 12 and 08. This year is similar to 11, 10, and 07 at Illinois, all bubble teams, 2 of 3 made it.

If he gets to the tournament eventually he's got to win a game.

But yeah, this is what oscar is.

It terms of must win to save oscar's job, probably not.

In terms of this team making the NCAA tournament, I think this is it. Next Wednesday will be as well. Probably either Texas or OU, and definitely Tech. TCU would be nice, but probably not a must win, unless we don't win 3 of the next 4. That's the situation this team put themselves in.

it's a must lose, not a must win.  not just per the preferences of this poster, but because it will become extremely difficult to kp30nt if they win, but it would still be relatively easy for them to tourney if they lose.

obviously it'd increase the chances of tourneying if they win, but that's not what "must" means, imo.

Its possible to make it with a loss tonight, but the increase in the chances with a win tonight is worthy of must win status IMHO.

The fulcrum of the season when it comes to the NCAA tournament if you will.

i think it'd be fair to call isu & osu a must win one of two, but not to call either a must win individually.

here's a question for the message board pragmatists- if we win tonight, are we more or less likely to win against the cows?

Equally, imo. Like most of our games this year, it just depends on how well the cows play against us.
