i have read plenty of off base remarks on this message board since our bowl matchup was announced and it's time to stop with the rude comments and mean thoughts. why be mean?
a&m was once a conference brother of ours when they were in the big 12 and they deserve to be treated with class on this message board. the k-state wildcats i know do not act like this.
some things to think about-
yes, i am 100% sure that they wish they never left the b12 to become a sec bottom feeder but it WASN'T THE STUDENTS/FANS who made that happen. politics did. don't blame the students and fans for leaving.
yes, they had a student bomb a bonfire but people lost their lives from the bombing and it should not be made fun of
their athletic department is in shambles, there is no reason to pile on. LET'S HOPE FOR A GREAT GAME!
i'm going to track all posters who are rude to the a&m fans or think rude/mean things towards A&M

I have been rooting for A&M to turn it around for some time. Sports are better when A&M is at least competent in SOMETHING. Agree with their fanbase about the OVERHAUL of the AD. LEAVING B12 should have been enough, but their toiling in sub-mediocrity is ABSURD.

I've been guilty recently, and this post really hit home. I realize that they aren't REALLY associated with any branch of the military, but maybe I should applaud their patriotism instead of mocking them for weird cult-like behavior.

I hate lawn work, but I really enjoy looking at a well manicured lawn. So, naturally I respect the hell out of aTm for only mowing the heads off the fallen soldiers and not allowing people to walk on them.

I think the whole 12th man thing is lame af, but for fellow 'hawks fans that are into it, I appreciate that A&M and its fan base properly acknowledged the rightful owners and ceded the title to Seattle. Much respect to whatever A&M fans are called now.

I have forgiven them for claiming made-up championships and I hope the posters here have too. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and frankly no one here knows what they were going through at the time so we shouldn't pile on. I'm really proud of clams for starting this thread and keeping some of the more unruly posters here in check.

I know cult aggies have too share lockers with pie aggies. T & p's for the smell you have to endure, but look at the bright side, you get to reminisce about all the crap kicking's from us and not smell pig crap when you were members of a true football conference.

I agree with OP. Being respectful to opponents is a KSU tradition that I, personally, hold very dear. We should use this opportunity to teach the aggies about tradition before they jump to another conference or cancel any other 100-year old rivalries.

One of those "enemy of my enemy is my friend thing" even though we never really had to see either one of them as a real rival or threat.
It's too bad the fans there don't hold bigger sway in their athletic department. I'd welcome them back so Bill can get some more wins to push his total higher before he retires for good.

If there was a way for A&M to jump to a less prestigious bowl that paid out more money but pretty much guaranteed a blowout loss I can tell you they would have almost certainly changed bowls already. But that's just college athletics these days.
Come to think of it that's basically what they did by losing all those games at the end of the season (minus the larger payout part).

i'm glad someone finally said something. thanks clams. sick and tired of seeing nothing but bathroom humor on this board, and to direct it at a bowl opponent that's lived in texas's shadow forever is really pretty lousy. I know there are a lot of children on this board who don't remember our years as futility U so long ago, but our pre-Snyder days should be able to keep us humble and empathize with college football's biggest underdog: a&m.

Splitting in two makes sense. If you only take half your team and have to play as a whole, that would be tough. It would also explain Baylor through the late '90s and early 2000s. I thought they sucked super hard because they used to be aTm, but they were just playing with the riligious half of a previously shitty football squad.

You guys are being extremely disrespectful of the breadth of those soldiers heads. Sure, in a perfect world, where certain genetic traits could be either optimized or eradicated, the distance from the tip of the nose to the back of the head would be less than or equal to the distance from the front of the sternum to the crest of the butt cheek however not all these heroes were so fortunate. Since keeping their bodies pressed tight together is of the utmost import, the only option is to offset laterally.
Sorry these gentlemen are more concerned with protecting your freedom than they are about being genetically flawless. If it makes you feel any better, they recognize it's a problem and have been working on creating a master race for quite a while, but these things take time.

Guys, I just found out something pretty incredible. One of my cousins who went to Texas A&M got married over the summer to a guy who also went to Texas A&M and they are both coming up to the area for Christmas. I didn't make it to the wedding so this will be the first time I've ever met the guy.
