then the week before the game against them comes and I get to think about all of the times we have pummeled those losers and dashed their hopes of one day being being just equal to our worst.

They are so forgettable, like Meg on Family Guy.

Quick, name an Iowa State football player:
None, I think there was a guy named "sage" or some crap

Remember when they thought they were good and then we destroyed Seneca (I can't believe they had a player named after a small town in Kansas) and the rest of those losers on a Saturday night?
-
Guys come on, they've had some pretty huge moments in their football history.
-
like didn't they beat Nebraska once Nebraska already sucked? and didn't they also beat Iowa in the years Iowa sucked?

guys they haven't won the conference in football since 1912, and i'm pretty sure it wasn't even the Big 12 back then. :sdeek:
-
do NOT look up their bowl history, it is very embarrassing for everyone.
-
Dan McCartney or whatever his name was seemed to be a genuinely nice person. Kind of a oscar Boche look to his head tho
-
thanks for the heads up, meow meow
-
Talked to abro who knows several players. Snyder basically gave them the week off, they are only required to review game film of Okie State
-
then the week before the game against them comes and I get to think about all of the times we have pummeled those losers and dashed their hopes of one day being being just equal to our worst.
You get confused b/c iowa state always triggers your memory of my buddy unilaterally closing the bidding on those tickets in the arrowhead parking lot, and it being weird that there was a conference game there.

Still wish we had taken the tailgate to full farmageddon level by having hay bales and chickens scratching around and every thing
the overalls were pretty money though
-
In 2007 I made a promise to my son that he would never have to live with the embarrassment of losing to Iowa State in football ever again...
Fast forward nine years later and I have still lived up to my promise. I would never let my little man down.
-
Dan McCartney or whatever his name was seemed to be a genuinely nice person. Kind of a oscar Boche look to his head tho
while he was a terrible football coach with a trash record over his 27 years he is the best coach they've ever had
-
I took FreundinSonntag out Friday evening and walking from the car i saw a vehicle with an Iowa State licence plate. I was amazed because i didn't know that they actually had fans, or that Iowans could drive.

i can't even name their coach or a single player, dsoc
-
they've had one 8 win season since 1979. that was in 2000, which also happened to be their winningest season ever. it resulted in a third place finish in the big 12 north and a trip to the insight.com bowl.

didn't they screw over the big XII and beat someone that they had no business beating, like OSU? that was probably there biggest moment ever

I think I've mentioned this on here before, but one time I was talking with some ISU fans and one of them bragged about their "Co-North championship" in 2004. I asked them who they played in the Big 12 Co-Championship game and things got quiet and awkward.
-
can you imagine your biggest football win being against Okie State, lol wow.
-
Ertz has told Hubes to be ready because he intends on faking an injury because he is from Iowa and knows how bad they smell.
-
It seems like every year the hotel I stay at in KC for the Big 12 tourney gets overran by ISU fans. They are the most socially awkward group of sports fans ever.
-
true facts about Iowa:
1. huge weirdos
-
Jesse Ertz is from Iowa and hates Iowa's grossness and also how everyone hates him for being from Iowa
-
iowa state currently has the second biggest student population in the conference with 36,660.

that thing where they all go to gross bar Kelly's and try and take it over and drink lots of beer is so over-compensating I'd feel sorry for them if they didn't all smell like an old basement.

Even their greatest win has a pretty major asterisk.

Well that and the fact that OSU actually made that FG at the end of the game to win and got hosed

I always knew Iowa state was garbage but reading their Wikipedia page just was an eye opener to how crap their football team is. Their best years in the school's history is just on the upper end of mediocre.

every season since 1978 but 1 has at least 5 losses. its insane to think about.
-
ku has 4 seasons of 4 or less losses in that span.
-
K-State has 14 seasons with 4 or less losses in that time for a reference. Iowa State has 1. My lord.

K-State has 14 seasons with 4 or less losses in that time for a reference. Iowa State has 1. My lord.
And we spent part of that time frame neglecting football to focus on our superior academics!

Iowa State's last conference championship was in 1912.
-
Do they know everyone thinks they are weird losers?

http://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/schools/iowa-state/1981-schedule.html
I remember going to this game in 1981 as a high school senior.
That was the year Jim Dickey redshirted our good players prior to the 82 Independence Bowl run.
Iowa State came to Manhattan on Halloween 5-1-1 ranked 11th. Cats beat them 10-7 behind Mark Hundley running and Reggie Singletary defense.
That started a four-game losing streak to end their season and miss a bowl game.
I remember being in the stands high-fiving with Amos Donaldson and Willl Cokeley.

It's not called "The Battle of" Farmageddon. Can't they do anything right?
-
They shouldn't have all those sparks, open flames, near those giant straw letters.
-
that lightning bolt that hit the press box probably electrocuted all 6 people that can fit inside of that at once
-
KSU Rushing Defense #3 (96 yds/g)
ISU Rushing Defense #115 (234 yds/g)
So I assume we'll be airing it out....

BOOKCAT!

Straw is soggy anyways so it really shouldn't matter
-
The soggy straw is conducive to bacterial growth. The bacteria will generate heat; the straw was bound to catch on fire regardless. RIP straw letters
-
IDK farmageddon spelled out in straw and on fire would be pretty amazing..

What would make this image more KSTATE0?
-
Tornado with a floating house... nice touch
-
"Did you go to Farmageddon at Trice over the weekend?"
"Nah, I heard we lost because of the refs and an apocalyptical sum of an F5 tornado and a ragin' wildfire, though."
"Yah man, those sun-a-bs."
-
of all the natural disasters to put on an I-StateO poster, they skipped any sort of flooding
-
What would make this image more KSTATE0?
It needs a Ft. Riley soldier taking a flamethrower to a butter statue at mid-field.

Remember the comeback in 99? So many great things in this article on ISU's website - http://www.cyclones.com/news/1999/9/25/885482.aspx (http://www.cyclones.com/news/1999/9/25/885482.aspx)
Catching the ball at his 6, Allen started left then turned straight upfield. Once he eluded a futile dive by punter Carl Gomez at midfield, Allen was home free. It was his sixth career punt return for a touchdown, one short of the NCAA record, and matched the longest in school history.
Iowa State safety Jeff Waters, on the sideline at the time, said Allen had some help.
"I saw a clip in the back," Waters said. "A lot of our guys were yelling, `Clip, clip.' But officials are human, too. That was a big play for them. It gave them momentum and they carried it over."
-
Was not aware that Ames was in / close to Eastern time zone. Maybe they think we are?

Yes I know, because I was at that game. The one I'm talking about was a very WTF moment for the K-State fans who were at the fair. Most thought we had lost.
-
2009 - Lamur blocked PAT (their kicker had never missed one prior to that play)
2010 - Brandon Harold got a late sack/fumble recovery to help us seal the deal
2011 - Hubert's beast mode touchdown to put us up late in the 4th quarter... Rhoads goes to ISU 5-heart Jeff Woody on 4th and 2 with the game on the line. Loses three yards and fumbles
2012 - Slow cooked them... Should have been more decisive than 27-21
2013 - Asswhooping... Would have shut them out 41-0 had Robert Rose not fumbled inside our 10 with a few minutes left
2014 - Clones blow 28-13 lead. Lots of bizarre plays including Lockett's catch as he hit the pylon, Randall Evans rolling interception that got upheld, Waters getting murdered on a 2pt try, Danzel blitzing at the end of the game when he was not supposed to (what a shocker, it worked)... Also Rhoads just ditched his headset early in the 1st half and pretty much turned the team over to Mangino lol
2015 - :ksu:

I'm starting to wonder if we don't gameplan for this and do it on purpose from time to time... Just to eff with them cyclone fans, ya know? The '99 game in Ames was the same song, different verse as well.

Maybe Bill gets a kick out of it too. ;)

After the game in '14, was that the first or the last game that was part of the "Big 12 hates us, refs are throwing the games" narrative that their AD ended up getting fined for saying?

amazing to watch over again.. the fan reaction is awesome especially after that block..
best part has to be the announcer saying to "tie it up" biggest moment so far of Paul Rhoads coaching career  :nono:

Wow - he was there for 6 years? Absurd

All I can remember after that block was as I was losing m utter s in joy Clardy Vison sprinting up the steps as Arrowhead to where I was located give me numerous high fives.
The old man could still move.
-
There were others from Bill 1.0 where we had a huge comeback. Something like the biggest comeback in KState history. I think we were down 28-0 and won like 35-28. Maybe the one where Randy Jordan had 3 INTs in one game and returned them all for touchdowns or something like that?
Damn! He trippin' so hard fans are gonna think he done fell off!
-
1999, we were down 28-7 at half. Helm came in for Beasley and Allen returned a punt for a TD in the second half and we won 35-28.
Damn! He trippin' so hard fans are gonna think he done fell off!
-
And it wasn't Randy Jordan, but Bobby Walker in a blowout over Iowa State, but he had back to back INTs for TDs on consecutive plays.
Damn! He trippin' so hard fans are gonna think he done fell off!
-
I was at both of those games. Good times.
That Saturday night game in 02 was probably the best K-State - Iowa State match up ever. Both teams were ranked (we were #12/12, they were #21/22) and ISU actually spent some of the early season in the Top 10 after their close loss to Florida State to start the year. Seneca Wallace got some talk as a Heisman candidate.
Then we absolutely destroyed them, just a fun November night at the Bill.

this was like the prequel of the CK slothfense, it was QB run game with Helm failing forward for 3 yards at a time and Isu couldn't do anything to stop it.

I too was at the 02 game. I had forgotten it was that bad. Wallace threw 2 pick 6's in a row to the same guy lol. And k-state could have scored into the 70's. We had 58 with like 3 min left in the 3rd but but completely shut it down for the 4th. BTW I don't have super remembering powers or anything, the whole game is on youtube and I just skimmed through it for the good parts.

And it wasn't Randy Jordan, but Bobby Walker in a blowout over Iowa State, but he had back to back INTs for TDs on consecutive plays.
Damn! He trippin' so hard fans are gonna think he done fell off!

i was at the 93' loss in Ames.......it was the streaker game..... :runaway:
-
I went to the '07 Ames game and still remember when James Johnson fumbled the opening kickoff.
The 'clones had lost the previous games by an average of 3 TDs or something. Me and the buddies thought it was a sure lock for a road win.
-
The only of these games I remember is 02, 03, 04,(was in school) 09 15.
I couldnt' tell you a thing about any others.

91,93,95,97,99,01

I was at both of those games. Good times.
That Saturday night game in 02 was probably the best K-State - Iowa State match up ever. Both teams were ranked (we were #12/12, they were #21/22) and ISU actually spent some of the early season in the Top 10 after their close loss to Florida State to start the year. Seneca Wallace got some talk as a Heisman candidate.
Then we absolutely destroyed them, just a fun November night at the Bill.
Fun fact: Seneca Wallace is the QB coach at a HS here in Dallas that buys gear from ol' BP...
Nice guy, that Wallace is.

I was supposed to go to the game in '14 but my flight got canceled.
I was supposed to go to the game tomorrow, but yesterday my boss made me cancel.

dlew, that is impressive

sd fact: isu fans are mostly skinny pale skinned people despite the "BIG OL' FARM KIDS" stuff your grandparents probably said about ISU people. I'm pretty sure our grandparents were just mocking their rural roots.

Nope. I can't remember the last time I had such a horrible premonition about a football game; I even changed my mind about going.
-
Remember the comeback in 99?
I was at this one. Very fun 2nd half.
So was I. 13 years old. Had trash thrown on me by ISU fans. The walk out at half was brutal. Dad just said it's four quarters long. I watched the rest from the chain link fence. Dad is/was superstitious so we didn't go back in. Great victory.

Holy Eff! Their "Ring of Honor" is made up of Chevy and Implement dealers.
If it ain't their ring of honor, it sure looks like one. I need to go to Ames for a game some day.
Makes me think one of two things: 1) ISU has really sold out for commercial space, 2) Currie ain't trying hard enough.

They seem a little soft.

Coaches must read GE; the new kids are playing!!!

We deserve to lose.

This might be enough but I doubt it
-
Total disappointment of a game. Cats only win by one score and all of the controversial calls go ISU's way.
Silver lining: coaches really wanting Delton to get some game-time experience :excited:
Other silver lining: It's kind of fun to be the team that other teams have to keep trying onside kicks against, but I'd rather it just be a blowout.

No premium seating, old timey press box. All funds to seating.
I felt bad watching that game, ISU filled that place up for a 1-6 team. Moldy people deserve nice things, even for a day.

They do, but there is a lot of stadiums very close:

OSU: 60,218
WVU: 60,000

The 2nd half was terrible defense. We gave up plays of 24, 39, 48, 28, 28, 24, and 21 yards in the 2nd half. We made ISU's offense look like Texas Tech or Okahoma.

And in the fourth biggest metro area; KU, OU, UT.

The state is split evenly, I think that's because there isn't a dominant football or basketball program here and the rivalry is relatively even in both sports.

I don't remember when they got called for a personal foul.
Hit on Ertz after he dove to the ground, unless I'm getting confused with another game. IIRC the flag wasn't because he slid but because he was already on the ground (and the play was over) before the defender contacted him.
-
I didn't really think it was a late hit either, but they will always be more likely to throw that with qbs
-
It was a questionable call. Without the call, I think it would've been a 4th & 1 in a spot on the field that we likely would've gone for it.
