Like sharks and junk?   No thanks.  There's a lot of them too, right?

The ocean(s?) scares me more than space. Not because of the sharks but just the remoteness. Also if you jump in you wouldn't be able to touch the bottom in most places

We know more about the moon than the oceans of the world lib.  Makes my thoughts way less relevant

It's very fascinating lib for sure.  Like why is that?  I mean I can tell you, because space is empty and easy to explore.  The ocean is full of matter and way harder to explore

When I look at the ocean(s?) I immediately think of being alone in the middle of it at night and how scary it would be to see absolutely nothing in all directions.

Would be scary in daytime too probably

Not saying is or isnt. But being an alcoholic isn't sad if you take care of yourself and don't drink. Being an alcoholic that drinks is sad.

when you think about the ocean, think about how steve Irwin spent a lifetime wrestling with brackish water's biggest and deadliest killing machines without incident and a day he spent peacefully snorkeling in blue water ended with a spear though the heart by an ocean creature smaller than a standard American chicken fried steak.

one time I absent mindedly neti-potted with unboiled mhk tapwater and then worked myself into a frenzy about my impending death. I eventually calmed my nerves by looking up the clorination tests from the MHK water report and comparing it to the LD50 for those brain eating 'mebe bastards.

Most climbing incidents are on the way down, because you aren't as vigilant then.

Well now think about this.  If you were stranded in the ocean, a gigantic body of water, you would have nothing to drink.

Wasn't fast enough to get the pic last trip, but we saw what the captain thought was a 16-18' shark swimming right behind our boat, about 15' away.  IIRC, he thought it was a Mako.  It never breached, but was only a couple feet down.  You could see his entire body very easily.

That's what the guy said after the fact.  Also, the way we were fishing was trolling with an attraction device the size of a bowling pin skipping on the top of the water with our actual lures right below the surface.  Basically shark crack.
