Title: 2016 Spring Game Breakdown
Post by: troubledscribe on April 23, 2016, 04:07:32 PM
We actually have a solid core of WR?!?! Pringles, Heath, Zuber, Rueter, and Freshman Sutton all looked good. Burton still has stone hands.

Delton looked good but never got anything going. Burns took every carry for the white team, silmon and warman split most of the ones.

J diggity got picked on the entire game.. LB Sullivan looked good on the white team. Ertz is more ellusive than I thought.. Purple line was eh.....

I heard there were gusts up to 25mph but need it confirmed by someone there. If not, Delton made a couple throws back to back that were concerning

Johnathan Durham started opposite Shelley at corner for the ones. Played entire game with first team D, shows promise but got deep a lot

It was windy but he floated two passes on deep routes inside that weren't even close, I don't think he has a deep ball.

"On the sidelines — Several projected starters didn’t participate Saturday for precautionary reasons that revolved around injuries. The inactive list included defensive end Tanner Wood, quarterback Skylar Thompson, defensive back Sean Newlan, running back Alex Barnes and Risner."

Don't tell me we're losing Wyatt too

Kicking game?

Kicking game?

Our backup kicker is incredibly small. He's listed at 5'3. But apparently he was making FGs from 50+ before the game.

Punting was average.

I wish we had a kicker that could consistently kick the ball out of the endzone on kickoffs. That seems to be lacking again this year.

I think they do it on purpose. I think they have run the numbers and feel they can pin a team deep of the 25 by kicking short

Forgot to mention that 88? Dayton Valentine maybe? Is a huge TE target, actually looks like a solid player.

Yup, their goal is to try to get it to get it returnable and stop them short of the 25, if they can do that consistently (and we actually have been) it's a win.
