Also, Stallings look to me like what the ceiling will be for K-State basketball if oscar stays long term at K-State. If he gets us back to the tournament next year and locks up a future here, it will be very Stallings-esque.
KSU:HO2PTI'd watch that show.

sound familiar? No, it doesn't.
The Wildcats (27-8) raced down the court, looking for a tying basket, but guard Angel Rodriguez got hung up in the corner near the Kansas State bench. His off-balance shot over the corner of the backboard missed everything, deflating a partisan crowd that packed the Sprint Center.
"They made the plays down the stretch, and we didn't," said Kansas State coach oscar Weber, who let his guys freelance on the final possession rather than calling a designed play.
Weber said he tried to call a timeout with Rodriguez boxed in, but the referees didn't hear him with the crowd roaring.
"I guess it's my fault," he said. "I waited too long."

Baylor took advantage of my TSC yesterday.Yip. I wouldn't give TTU my :tsc: and thus avoided pain on that front.
im hoping for the first 4 vs 13 and 5 vs 12 matchups today to be tasty. VCU vs Oregon State has been like a Casey's Breakfast Pizza.

I don't think this takes away from the 2016 big 12 being the best conference in the galaxy, which is simply a bound system of stars, stellar remnants, interstellar gas, dust, and dark matter. However, some have claimed it's the best in the universe but given that a universe is all of time, space and its contents, the fact that 2010 was better disproves that notion.

In this model would the Jayhawks be like a black whole, whose mass/gravity no other teams' hopes can escape? Or, more like a supernova where they are approaching the apex of Bill Self's contending desires to "win basketball games" versus have a fulfilling and challenging life?
I haven't watched much Miami basketball, but I can see why sys is annoyed by Larranaga's use of him. The number of possessions where he barely touches the ball is infuriating.

The difference between 40 minutes and one? About 39 more minutes. You couldn't possibly see what A&M did and think that's physically sustainable and that the coward referees would let them grab cutters all game. UNI did some horrifically stupid things but if the last minute was officiated like the first 39 they would have all fouled out in the first half.
I'm saying to do it in couple-minute spurts at what would seem to be unusual points in the game. Could do the end-of-game comeback offense like michcat suggests also (separately or simultaneiously), and blow the opponent's minds.
Lol if a cat opponent this past year had it set up that they would go to the ball-out superpress for a couple minutes as soon as the cats made their first substitution of the game (h'dogs) at the 17-minute mark.
Seems like ku used to do this to us mid-game pre-huggins.
In jv Jr. high basketball, we would 3-2 "FIRE" the crap out of the other team 4-5 times per game. The 3 guys up top trap and deny and the two bigs would jump the passing lanes to the wings. Yes, it left at least one person wide open under the basket, but jv Jr. high basketballers get really scared and NEVER make a successful pass to the wide open guy under the basket in that situation. When I say "we" I mean this year, with dobberjr's team.

Turns out bernie can't beat cary grant, either
Poor little KSU can never get a good coach
i believe KSU wanted to only pay 1 year of his buyout, not two - almost the exact scenario with McNeck & ISU. I don't think Max Ulrich had hired Altman either iirc.Poor little KSU can never get a good coach
I wasn't around when Altman got ran off, what happened there?

he recruited decently, but his teams struggled offensively. like clams said, he felt heat and bounced for Creighton as opposed to sticking around for another year and maybe getting canned.

At halftime of the Big Eight Conference's first ESPN Big Monday game, back on Jan. 6, 1992, Oklahoma State led Kansas State 32-11. A successful possession for K-State was when the Wildcats completed a pass.

IU vs NC is similar to Miami vs Nova. NC is at 1.50 ppp to 1.18 is fun.
Zags vs Orange is good basketball.
Remember when we led North Carolina 67-59 with under 5 to go? That was fun. They started 10-12 on threes tonight while shooting 31% for the year

Well, that turned quickly.

Seldon's uncle can go back to his cardboard box now.
KU wins 90% of the time they play. This was the 10%.

It's a shame that so many KU fans won't feel like this was a successful season.

Two things. First, they so routinely have a great seed, that it's kinda hard to hold it against them (maybe throw out the times they were beat by a 1-4, because that isn't much of an "upset" really). Second, that shame is really on this crap conference....we all own that one for our part in inflating their record.

I didn't watch the game but assume that the call was fine and everyone is whining because they are whiners
Rape City, KS will be extremely volatile tonight.
I dont feel much rage about getting knocked out in the E8 by Villanova.

We agree KU didn't play well tonight however, if someone can explain how Graham was correctly called for tripping that would be spectacular! Also, how about the lack of travels called by the officials (on both teams). The foul discrepancy i.e. one team having many more fouls than the other. The mugging of Mason at the end of the game, not called, etc... We are not blaming the loss on the officials but the officials played a part in the outcome and that shouldn't be the case - they shouldn't "decide" who will win the game!
I thought the Graham call was pretty bad. Or at least very unusual.
Yeah, just because no one has the ball yet, doesn't mean you can plow through someone else to get it.

I mean when he starts his dive, it's still a loose ball. But that's irrelevant, because you still can't just dive thorough someone because the ball is loose.

they should feel bad about letting bob down
It's typically not called, and the ref acted like he kicked one of the guys trapping him when he made the call. They were able to save face by going to the monitor to see who was fouled (and as townie mentioned they still got that wrong).I thought the Graham call was pretty bad. Or at least very unusual.
The Nova guy had both hands on the ball and Graham wiped him into next week. It was a foul

Of course the :call would be moot if KU knew how to handle light pressure at half court.
Here is a stat I would like to know (and probably start circulating, if it comes out as I expect): Ku has won the big 12 twelve straight years, but in how many of those years were they the last big 12 team alive in the ncaa? Off the top of my head, I can only think of three years where that has occurred.

Let's go Cuse!
Worst Final 4 team OAT?
The committee looks like geniuses putting Cuse in over Frank

doea Cuse have an NBA player on that roster?Probably will not go in this year's draft, but Richardson is an NBA player.
The game totally changed when Syracuse picked up full court with ~8 ish(?) minutes left. It took UVA 5 minutes at the start of the game to figure out the zone, but after that they got lots of easy looks and built the lead. The press changed everything and then Virginia panicked and forgot how to get into the middle of the zone once they were stuck in the half court.
