I'm not well versed on the school district that you are taking about but In mhk you have to be two miles away from the school to have bus service as an option. I live 1.2 miles away from my kids school. I have a first grader. do you recommend he walk or ride a bike?

a bus.  their feet.  a bike.

I'm not well versed on the school district that you are taking about but In mhk you have to be two miles away from the school to have bus service as an option. I live 1.2 miles away from my kids school. I have a first grader. do you recommend he walk or ride a bike?

I walked or rode my bike to school every day that there wasn't inclement weather k-2nd.

I walked every day too but it wasn't a mile and a half with no sidewalks part of the way and crossing five lane traffic. If I were you and clams, I'd worry about your own kids and not someone else's. In my opinion, you would have to be about the worst parent in the world to allow a 6 yr old to do that.

that was in the mid-90's in lyndon, ks. i wouldn't expect many kids to walk to school in 2016. i wasn't judging your decision-making as parent.

well I'm pretty sure you both were which is why I plan to challenge both of you to fist fights should I ever encounter either of you in real life.

a boxer decided to not let his electric fence one day and tried to maul me on my walk home, but I kicked his ass at the age of 7. Still wanna fight?

You'd probably get arrested for child endangerment or neglect if you let your kid walk to school alone.

I live pretty close to that area, and I can tell you I never once considered walking around there.  crap, go a few blocks in the other direction and get on the trail and walk there or whatever.

My bigger concern is that I have no rough ridin' fiber in my hood.

I have!  I went with my son to a figurine painting thing there once.  I'm not into any specific games myself, but he and his friends are (D&D). They just opened a bar/grill thing as part of it too.  Everything they serve is based on a waffle of some kind, except for the beer.  It's a pretty lively place.  My son and his friends like to joke about that strip mall being nerd friendly with a Microcenter and a Vintage Stock.  We go to both of those quite a bit.

Oh my yes, it is by far the most eclectic strip mall in the area (and I love it). Had School of Tock not gone caput it just added to that area. There is even a theatre I didn't know about on the backside of the mall area. Even having Chiefs Fit in the area weirdly fits with the nerdiness (if a different type of nerd).

Also TBT, agreed on all of it, been to table top, it's definitely worth going into. Plenty of dnd stuff, but also just tons of of pick a game. Totally worth the time.
