Title: What's the DEAL with bank holidays?
Post by: DQ12 on February 15, 2016, 10:15:33 AM
Is there a rule that requires them to be closed for every silly holiday?

Now that the Super Bowl is in February they should align President's Day to be the next day and make it a day that everyone has off. A real win-win for all Americans.

Working at a bank has to be terrible.  They probably need all the days off they get.

I can't for fucks sake figure out when my trash will be picked up.  Our day is Monday, so like after a Thanksgiving or Christmas or many other days they don't show up on Monday but come on Tuesday.  This morning I was all ready for them not to come, I thought I have figured out the system.  Nope, they came, and I had to scramble to get the trash out.

Shawnee County.  I guess President's Day is a federal holiday, not necessarily recognized by State/City/County

You can deposit cash at an atm and it's immediately credited to your account (I've done this on sundays)  (WARNING applies to cap fed, no idea about other places)

What bank doesn't allow you to deposit cash via ATM? It's 2016. Sending prayers to banks that don't have vending machine-esque cash reading systems

It's not the depositing cash part.. it's the immediately available part.

Why would anyone need deposited cash immediately available in the checking account?

Good point.  My brain just figured he meant checks.  Do people really pay other people with paper money still?

Strippers always have tons of cash. I don't think they typically save it though.

I'd believe that Wacky is a stripper before I'd believe that he's a drug dealer.

I'm up about $800 total from when I started playing poker for reals a couple of weeks ago. It's all going towards our honeymoon. I probably should cool it down until the bachelor party.

My grandma always writes something sweet like: "Use this for yourself and nothing else" and I usually just store it away for a rainy day.  :frown:

My grandpa used to slide me $20's in jacket pockets, hoodie pockets, etc without me knowing it or if it was hanging up.  I still find an $20 bill occasionally, years and years later.
