Yes. Undoubtedly, yes.
-
Storm the crowd. Yes.
-
It was questionable until the trash I saw on wednesday night.

-
Definitely.
-
Did you see Wes not feed DJamer for a classless, garage dunk?
-
I'd say we are the most knowledgeable. Just understand the game, it's traditions and nuances better
-
We only boo when the official messed up. Doesn't matter if the call went against us or not.
-

We truly only seek to make the officials better at their job, and better human beings overall.

Any time an official sees me on the street wearing purple, they thank me for all we do for college basketball. It's nice.
-
The best fan experience in the Big12 conf.
World Class.

They recognize that K-State is a tide that lifts all boats, it's good that they acknowledge that.

Inferior teams beat top ranked teams at home because it's human nature for the vastly more talented team to not take the vastly inferior opponent seriously enough. The OU team that showed up in Manhattan was not mentally the same team that came to Lawrence. Teams get pumped up to play KU home or away....they don't get pumped up to play teams like KSU.
:frown:

They cover every angle of butthurt so well.
Yep, zero incentive for Lon Kruger and Steve Henson to beat K-State in front of a packed house.
-
The go emaw message board used to be hilarious. But they trolled each other to the point that only 4 of them still post
:frown:

But ku is also inferior to ou, so it makes sense ou lost there too.
-
Welcome to kstate, i always say

:frown:
wow. pearls before swine.
-
Id be butthurt if I didnt beat the #1 team too
-
in answer to OP, yes
-
It's just an overall understanding of the sport that seems to be passed down from generation to generation.
-
Oh so now you think you did us a favor?
OU should have steamrolled you by double digits,, it was more of their slipping up then it was you helped KU or anyone else in the Big 12.
So take your cocky arrogant attitude back to your boards
-
KU crowds always look so bored on TV. Their tiny little student section crammed behind the basket just doesn't add much to a TV broadcast.
In contrast, the KSU wall of students cheering loudly the entire game is a much more exciting celebration of the sport on television.
So, I think that adds to our reputation quite a bit.
-
Kansas fans rushed the court when they beat kentucky catlitter.
-
I heard through the grapevine that we aren't classy because our team ran into the stands before slapping hands with OU.
-
I agree with everything ITT.
:bball:
-
How many racists chants have you heard from our entire stadium? Chants that show zero immigration or lawn maintenance knowledge at that.
-
How many racists chants have you heard from our entire stadium? Chants that show zero immigration or lawn maintenance knowledge at that.
They actually chanted that at a game? I thought it was just t-shirt fodder, which i can't begrudge Lawrence for, as that silkscreen printing and custom stationary drive a substantial portion of their local economy.
-
Gary Lezak confirmed on 810 this morning that K-State fans are much classier than KU fans. That's coming from an unbiased OU fan/alum. fwiw
-
Can confirm
-
The box score showed 26 fouls called on OU to 19 for the 'Taters. And KSU shooting 30 free throws to 17 for OU.
A quick check of the record shows, by contrast, a disparity of 27/18 on fouls called on KSU/KU. And 22/16 on free throw attempts in that 'travesty' of a game played in AFH last Wednesday.
Still wanna cry to us 'bout our being beneficiaries of that legendary Allen Field House 'home cookin', Cat fans?
Hmmm?
-
2 foul outs in 6 yrs.
-
I may be biased because I am a huge KSU fan and alum but I believe we are the classiest.

Agreed, AFH and OOD are pretty much the same for "home field advantage". Go kstate
-
we were also winning in the last minute so we got to shoot a lot of foul shots?
-
we were also winning in the last minute so we got to shoot a lot of foul shots?
Yeah. That OU player punting the ball helped, too.
-

Yeah. That OU player punting the ball helped, too.
Was this the best part of the game? I think it was.
-
So let me get this straight, perpetually butthurt about everything KU t-shirt nation (PBAEKUTSN) is back on the number of fouls kick?
Let's see, we were more aggressive in taking it to the rack then OU, we were more aggressive after loose balls then OU, and we murdered them on the offensive glass which leads to more fouls and as stated, we had the lead forcing them to foul.
Low b-ball IQ in PBAEKUTSN
-
dax, your acronym game is slipping.
-
Yeah, just call them butthurtistan. Nobody can pronounce pbaekutsn.
-
Doug Gottlieb just said on national radio that we have the best, loudest, and classiest fans in basketball
-
Sorry, Doug. Not hiring.
-
Doug Gottlieb just said on national radio that we have the best, loudest, and classiest fans in basketball
Yep, we already have BGB.
-
Butthurtistan a thriving province of Phogistan
-
Doug Gottlieb just said on national radio that we have the best, loudest, and classiest fans in basketball
Doug has been to every arena in the country. That is like Anthony Bourdain saying you have the best place to binge and the best food too.

Parkins & C.Dot just said oscar had the players practice a mock court storming drill prior to the OU game. Missed opportunity! But oscar will be on The Drive tomorrow to explain, hopefully.

You would be correct

I mentioned this in post game. They practiced running to the students post game (coaches to shake hands) in order to keep students off the court. The comment went on in a magical oscar-amble about how it's a shame we can't storm the court anymore and maybe they will allow it for a game down the road. And then concluded with a I'll probably get in trouble for that type comment.
-
Curdog is turning our home into the Octagon of Dud. We want to have fun not act like prissy prudes.

Who is asking at question at 10:20? He sounds like he is being choked to death.
-
on ESPNU this morning the guy (don't remember his name) said that we have one of the best atmospheres in all of college sports, not just basketball. also said our fans are the possibly the most knowledgeable about the game.
-
Top notch reporting, IMO.
-

But, but, KU invented the game, and their fans tell everyone that they are the most knowledgeable and classy fans in the country. How do I reconcile these conflicting claims?
-
Well we know we're more so than WSU. Dropping sex signs on live tv :sdeek:
Need a comparo to MCC though. What about someone like Bethel? Kansas Weslyan?
-
Is WSU even a thing anymore?

I pulled that from his interview with Why@ right after the game on the radio. I was surprised he mentioned wanting it back.

The Best Fans in America Showcase K-State Class
Like our parents always said, you never get a second chance to make a first impression, and after the Ole Miss win last Saturday, I received the following email from an Ole Miss fan living in Kansas who experienced K-State for the first time:
“I would like to tell you how impressed I was with the crowd and atmosphere at Saturday's basketball game against Ole Miss. I am a life-long Ole Miss fan and was fortunate to be able to bring my son with me to go to his first "Ole Miss game." The second we walked in we were welcomed with: "Welcome to K-State", "Enjoy Manhattan", "Good luck", "Enjoy the game" among many other positive welcomings. Of course there was some good-natured ribbing and the occasional joke of asking my son if he would prefer to wear purple so he could fit in, but not once was there any negative comments or slurs made towards us or the Ole Miss team by the students, fans and alumni. It was a wonderful experience and I know that I will come back for another game with the impact the people had on me and I know the impact was felt by my son. Thank you and your K-State family.”
It is uniquely K-State that the same fans that make the Octagon of Doom one of the loudest and most intimidating atmospheres in all of college basketball also create a respectful environment each and every week!
-
Octagon of Decorum
-
good grief
-
Is WSU even a thing anymore?
I'm not sure, but I can tell you what's not classy. A school demanding that everyone #WatchUS. You know what, guys, maybe I don't want to! :don'tcare:
-
jeez America, get off our nuts.
-
Whenever I see an opposing teams fans at a sporting event, I shake their hand and give them $20 apiece. I just know they probably need that money more than I do and they always tell me how classy it is. Just the Kstate way imho
-
Nobody GAF what that guy thinks. Ppl that write email or letters to home teams after attending a game are the absolute worst. The arrogance.
-
That email pissed me off :curse:

We may miss an opportunity here to get all of our goals achieved...
Currie does not want students storming the court after big wins.
Next big win (KU?) students storm the court, maybe even chickenwings one of the lollygagging KU players.
Currie runs out from his lair and tries to force choke students who collectively point to oscar's comments about wanting to get court storming back.
Currie force chokes oscar.
We get a new coach.
Unfortunately, it would appear that Currie would get to name a new oscar Weber, so I haven't got all the wrinkles ironed out yet.
-
FWIW, KU is not a very big win anymore. I'd rank it up there with that UNLV preseason win we had with Frank. KU just doesn't have the "it" factor anymore.

Classless 'lemy

Need a comparo to MCC though.
It does not get any classier than to have both teams pray together afterwards, IMHO. We did have a sign one time at an Ozark game that said "Our Credits Matter" in reference to that MCC is an accredited school and Ozark is not.

What is a force choke? You mean like using jedi powers?

Arm sleeves are classy...

can you imagine ballin' wearing that at the rec? today's students have it MADE!
-
That is sexy AF!

Yeah i'm pretty jealous.

I can't even imagine how much this would have elevated my game at the Rec.

Don't forget the cookie guys. Arm sleeve AND a cookie

Enjoyed my cookie

One of the classiest moments I've ever witnessed at a game occurred last night. Things were not going the Cats' way, but at one juncture in the game the officials made a call and the crowd gave the referees a standing ovation. Those guys get booed a lot so it made me feel good that our fan base could make them feel appreciated in Bramlage Coliseum.
-
not sure what point it was in last night's game, but noted EMAW, so maybe not completely unbiased, Miles Simon, said the Bramlage crowd is as classy and knowledgeable as they come
-
I think it is pretty well known that at bball referee seminars they will often show entire K-State home games because the crowd identifies good and bad calls with 99.7% accuracy.
-
EMAW'ers of longstanding should all get comped one of those sleeves for giving currency to the Doom name. It would be a pretty classy move.

Boring??? KU has the best atmosphere in the country by far.... always voted in the top 2 <
Your fans cheer just hoping for a win. Im mean really , turn the lights down so the rest of us cant see the upper deck half empty. Oh unless Kansas is there then the farms shut down and everyone shows up ..
I think if you guys can somehow find a worthy coach someday ,maybe just maybe you might fill your barn to capacity like Allen has 242 straight games . The Bram isnt even in the top 10, you guys are funny :billdance: :billdance: :billdance: :buh-bye:
-
I think Allen looks more like a barn than Bramlage, but I'm not a hayseed and pretty sure I've never been in a barn so maybe I'm mistaken.
-
starting to think rollingplains doesn't follow cbb
-
The Bram doesn't even have an upper deck
-
Just watched the video at the library. Everyone hates me for how loud I was laughing
