It's not really the same thing at all. Many people around the program thought Gard was going to get the job anyway. There certainly wasn't a there's no way in hell this guy isn't getting the job so I'm going to essentially force my guy into an interim position like there would be with Sean and Bill.

I've been saying this for years. KU is elite at it. They usually have a litany of rpi 50-150 chowder puff home games on their schedule, and one or two elite opponents.

fortunately for KU, they're a more complete team than OU. and despite the officials calling an OU-friendly game in AFH, and the conference's best player having the best game of his career, OU still wasn't good enough to win.
OU is a great player and a couple good ones, but they proved last night that they don't belong in the same conversation as the best teams in college basketball, because those teams win those games last night. in the end, the only thing OU accomplished was adding an L to their loss column.

Watching Lattin and his chicken legs holding his own in the lane at AFH was very disorienting
Yeah, it just really shows how non intimidating Ellis-Traylor can be. Like, Ellis had one of his better games and Traylor had some pretty good blocks, but they are no Kahn/Aldrich/Withey/Morris Twins. Fully realize Kahn/Aldrich/Withey are centers but those guys are nightmares for most teams down low, and ku just doesn't have what I would call a nightmares down low.
Really, what was disorienting was seeing OU very often simply out running and using great passing down low to make ku's defense look pretty ineffective. I am not above saying OU played a little better in that game in stretches, ku simply was more consistent overall. Being gassed and expecting even more out of Hield ultimately led to OU losing.
Overall, was glad that it was a great game and worthy of 1 v 2.

Bragg hasn't done much either. if and when the ncaa names haith, then tulsa would be forced to make a move but i don't see why they would before then. as it currently stands, tulsa's ad is still behind haith so i don't anticipate them doing anything at this point. (and they don't need to "protect" themselves from anything).

Those 2 are 4-17 FGs in the 2 close losses to KU/ Tech. Spangler only 2-5 FTs. Those 2 also didn't get crucial DRs late in each game. Tonight they couldn't get 2 DRs late on 1 Poss, and had to foul Tech with 30 sec.

i think that how the sec thinks about bball is changing, though maybe i'm wrong. i get the impression that they want to be the best conference top to bottom at both sports. and they've got sneakily lured some good coaches into their conference-

Monmouth just lost. The #1 seeds aren't doing us any favors.
Monmouth is easily in the NCAAs. Two bids for the MAAC is making my dream of us getting our assess kicked by WSU more of a reality.

i don't see how they're easily in the ncaas. they've got a nice story. their resume pretty much sucks. they've got more bad losses than good wins. and their good wins aren't that good. if they scrape in, they'll be in as one of the worst at large teams in memory.

They will be in, but could very well be playing Tuesday/Wednesday night in Dayton. I think Lunardi has them two spots from being in the "last 4 in" group
