Old white people own department stores
boyfriends want to make their serious girlfriend leave their hometown for an opportunity in the big city without regard for the girlfriends' hopes or dreams
Hallmark ornaments create special memories
-
Small towns have festivals at night that everyone goes to during the holiday season
-
At christmastime, retail is not for making money. It is for sharing the christmas spirit. I learned this on the hallmark channel.

(this one is from mrs. michigancat): You can give a good guy an edge by putting them in a leather jacket

you do not have good christmas spirit if you have an artificial christmas tree

If you hate someone a lot after first meeting them you will probably fall in love with them and marry them.

Easy now! @dickstone has buddies there and Ms. Wacky worked there for 9 years before she left. According to dickstone, the company is still thriving!

that alone should be a hallmark card at least

"Nothing's impossible at Christmas time" - direct quote from a preview
-
The good guy can be a real rough ridin' crybaby martyr
-
They never let you see the sex scene
-
Important business deals go down on or very close to Christmas day
-
Using mistletoe to get a kiss is not creepy
-
They never let you see the sex scene
Seems to be a hallmark of Hallmark.
-
Your wife/husband will die young, but Christmastime will bring you a new wife/husband.

There are like, shitloads of English speaking monarchies.

And they're all full of princes with the hots for American girls
-
Military guys care way more and are more in touch with their feelings than normal guys.
-
Bradley Cooper was in a Hallmark movie.
-
You can go to a restaurant and order "a burger and a draft" and the server will know what to get you
-
Candy Crush is still a thing
Candy Crush has TV commercials
-
The Party of Five girl has the market cornered for the role of "30-something baker looking for love".
-
poor hatingfrancis, always a hallmark movie, never a bridesmaids
-
Favorite hallmark movie scene:
- Small town
- The towns hottie is dating the town sheriff
- New guy in town threatens hottie's fathers business that's been around the family for over 50 years.
- New guy makes good with town hottie, to help out the family biz, tussles with bad person town sheriff, and wins over the girl
* Alternative: Your choice. You either make her a single mother or the single towns newspaper reporter
-
Dating a coworker is entirely appropriate.
-
Santa is usually misunderstood.
-
Christmas is the best (only?) time for little children to find a new mom/dad.

Things I've learned....
1. My wife loves the crap out of Hallmark Channel.
2. My wife is actually more cynical than me and can pretty much give me the plot of every movie after watching the first 5 minutes. (She still loves it tho)
3. There are a lot of hot women in their early 30s (played by actresses in their 20s) who are looking for love but are just too focused on their careers.
4. There are a lot of super rich hot guys who aren't looking for love but you can bet your ass they're gonna find it.
5. Standard dress: sweater with collared shirt and sleeves rolled (guy), and cozy cardigan with loose scarf while still revealing a little something (girl).
6. Hallmark does not have a minority hiring policy.
7. The rich guy always has a huge business deal or deadline looming around Christmas. But he'll get his priorities straight.
I'll probably have more. I'm in a cabin watching hallmark channel for the next few days.
-
I LOVE the important business deadlines right before Christmas.

The houses, places of business and locales are idyllic with beautiful, friendly people, except for one or two at first, but then they always come around!
But that channel helps Mrs. Dax get through the holidays as its the anniversary of her father passing  . So, I roll with it.

I've learned:
If the movie has one decently big name (say Dean Cain) then everyone else in the movie will be a horrible actor/actress. If there is no big name, then everyone in the movie will be a horrible actor/actress.
-
I saw Hallmark movies with Chevy Chase and Brian Doyle Murray this year

Christmas Vacation isn't a Hallmark movie.

I saw one last night that had Winnie Cooper in it. Everyone else appeared to be a nobodyish horrible actor/actress.

in love with the town or some townie filly?
-
I am working on the rules for a Hallmark Christmas movie drinking game. Progress is slow due to the amount of booze it takes to actually watch one of those cinematic masterpieces. If I can make through one without being blacked out, I may be able to finish. Might qualify as a Festivus Miracle.

Typically both. You'll move back to your hometown to start a new family with the hometown filly (and possibly her cute, but pretentious child)

She may or may not be your old high school girlfriend.

Lots of event planners and bookstore owners in the last couple of batches.
I just think some yells out "Veterinarian" in a pitch meeting and that is all it takes.
-
my goal this month is to get through all 173 of them. i'm all caught up. watched Christmas at Grand Valley and A Gingerbread Romance yesterday.
have a few days off until Small Town Christmas and Jingle Around the Clock on the 22nd. looking forward to the downtime. only 6 left, i can do this.

I enjoyed the Chicago based one where two random people can't sleep at night unless they sleep side by side one another. They find this out after she runs over him when she's out driving around one random night because she can't sleep.

You're welcome!

I was skeptical that it was a Hallmark Channel movie when when I saw it was set in Chicago and not in a small town.
-
I know, big risk, but it paid off. Also, when I was in Frisco, CO last week, they were shooting a hallmark movie there during the time.

Whoa! I always assumed they were shot on soundstages in LA, because usually the snow is ridiculously fake

Yea, I figured they build one christmas small town and shoot the 30 films there. Also, actresses are pretty much randomly assigned roles based on shooting schedules
-
Maybe this one was just a really special movie. :D
-
A lot are filmed in Canada.
-
i don't really give a rats ass where they film these sons of bitches
-
Yes you do you old scoundrel.
-
i only watch christmas movies that are 100% certified made in the USA. these colors don't run.
