Wind sucks.  You can't see it so it tries waaay too hard to be noticed sometimes.

Wind is good sometimes and sometimes not.  Like when the Royals are batting I like the wind to blow out, but when we are pitching I like it to blow in.  If I'm bonefishing I like just enough wind to put a little chop on the water, but not so much I can't cast.  If I'm deer hunting I like enough wind that it covers my noise when I stalk, but when when the deer stands up and I can't hold the bow still I hate it.  Also, parking into the wind, this shouldn't be a thing but it is.  I've heard that wind can cause depression, more so than any other singular weather event (more than darkness, even).  The Chikasaw believe the wind is there to purify the earth of dirty air and diseases so that their grandchildren might thrive.  If anything the wind is another bead on the necklace worn by the duality of man.  It is good, it is not good, but it is necessary, my friends.  So I leave you in peace.

Well it's a problem if no spaces are available or for some other reason you are unable to orient your vehicle that way.

That didn't really answer why parking into the wind is a problem

When it's super rough ridin' windy you are supposed to park into the wind, lest you risk losing hold of your door and letting it fly into your colleague's car (Mazda 626) and then you have to tell them and call your insurance and tell them you're an idiot.  So parking into the wind is fine, but being in a situation where one cannot park into the wind is a problem, but only if it's really windy out.  See?

I think maybe this is a problem for people that weigh under 120lbs and can't control a car door.  Interesting problem nonetheless.

Perhaps this is related to front facing parking? AJ, thoughts?

True story:

In college with a buddy and we are out tailgating at BSFS....and like BSFS always is, it's windy.  I'm cursing the wind and my buddy says

"Weird it's so windy out here, there aren't even any trees around"

I ask him again, yup...no trees, why is it windy?  He proceeds to tell the group that wind comes from trees.

My least favorite element. It makes otherwise good weather unenjoyable and bad weather exponentially more miserable.

I came home from work Monday to find my American flag laying on the ground.  The wind killed the bracket that was holding it on the porch.  I ran out and picked it up as quickly as possible but now I'm worried that my neighbors and other people around town think I hate America.

Ideally you would tie it to the back of your Prius, set it on fire, and drive down the street.

It isn't hard to see how the endless wind broke the minds of the people who came to live on the plains.
