I was wrong guys. The second half defense was really good. :lynchmob:

I agree. I felt better about it during the second half.
-
Just think of how it will look when we get Barnett and Danzel back playing together. :lynchmob:
-
Never make pronouncements during the first drive. Adjustments were sound and we've got solid players. Like most Snyder part 2 teams, we won't be very deep, so I hope Barnetts injury isn't serious.
-
crap, we did a chat?
-
Football=Twitter
Basketball=chat
-
yeah, lol at football chat
-
i love football chat.

Yeah, I think like _fan said I took that first drive to seriously. I still think our coverage wasn't good in the first half. Too many wide open receptions for my liking.

I would agree with that.
Once we adjusted to their run schemes, their QB simply wasn't going to beat us, but we will see better QBs.
-
Still haven't created a TO but 3 points in 2 games is awesome go Cats.

Makes it even more amazing to give up that many points. But yeah, good defenses need to create turnovers.

The defense looked better in the second half because the UTSA offense slowed their tempo down, imo.

It's hard to play tempo when you don't move the ball.
The key was stopping the run. UTSA ran for 28 yards on their first 4 carries.
They finished with 37 yards rushing.
They had 193 yards rushing last week at Arizona.
They simply weren't going to consistently move the ball and play tempo without a running game.
-
Those first couple of drives we were playing pretty conservatively on defense; not pressuring and keeping the receivers in front. It became obvious that UTSA was no threat to beat us deep so they could press those receivers a bit and put a bit more pressure on the QB. I didn't see what the adjustment was but it was obvious that they made one on that TE. Not sure if they used a LB, like Lee to jam him on the line. I wondered if it was Lee because I didn't really notice him and his name wasn't called much so it's possible that they used him to slow that TE down.

Oh, I agree. It was really nice to play a game like this on the road. It's a nice tune-up for what we will see in conference play.
-
There is a reason we have like the longest winning streak when leading at the half. We just happen to be really good at adjusting to what the other team is doing.

football chat is great, and yes dlew and myself both berated chings for "dissing" the d

Chingon the chatlord.

OK never mind I was right to begin with. The verdict is in: it was clearly a mirage of playing shitty competition.
-
We were very good against the run, but maybe Okie State just can't run. We'll find out against OU, TCU and Baylor. Hope Barnett makes a big difference.

LOL if a team wants to run against us they will. OK St won despite Gundy's idiocy.
-
That was horrible. Osu had no run game, but yet we couldn't stop pass. Very poor game by secondary and Hayes. We need Barnett badly.
What a fn crappy day
-
Morgan Burns made me very sad today. :frown:
-
As rightfully frustrated as we all should be with Morgan Burned, he isn't nearly that bad. What I don't understand is how his ball skills, always bad, have seemingly gotten worse. He can stay with anyone but he may as well be in the bleachers because he can never ever find or touch the ball.

I didnt watch today. Was it real bad?
-
The secondary, particularly Burns was horrible most of the time. They had a couple of good plays, but spent most of the time way off the receivers, lost, taking bad support angles, tackling poorly, and the case of Burns, never finding the ball.
-
That entire secondary, sans McDaniel, is trash. Prewitt is rough ridin' clueless out there, Jackson and Burns have a weekly battle over who will suck worse, and Starks is doing quite well at his internship at Shitty DB, inc.

Morgan Burns made me very sad today. :frown:
reminded me of 2000 KSU/OU championship game when OU hit about 10 passes in a row to their 7-foot TE/WR who towered over whichever of our D was supposed to be covering him
